I swear it's like nobody cares there anymore, pretty sad. It used to be better years ago but now it's just awful. There seems to be no management of staff, instead of training and following up with staff it seems they just fire and replace them, without ever making sure anyone is doing their jobs. several times my roommate has tried to load a paypal card at the register and the employees either act like they cannot do that or just say they "do not know how" to do it. Today I left my home, paid for a Uber to this 7-eleven, right now I have knee injuries so it's a struggle to get around, anyhow I make it all the way to the store, I approach the register and ask to load my paypal card, the guy behind the counter is clearly a new hire, he says he didn't know how so he asked the other more senior employee and he told the clerk to just say it's down and/or not working. This was literally the only reason I left my house and given my knee injuries, it was not exactly easy but I needed to load my card so I can pay some bills.. But clearly nobody can seem to do their job here and its just a disgrace. Now I have to waste more money on a Uber to the bank to pay my bills. Also the paypal issue is one thing, they have also completely botched orders placed with Uber Eats and the 7-eleven delivery app. I wonder when management will start to provide oversight of the employees? instead of firing and replacing people over and over and over. The day staff is not helpful at all at this location. There are no cups by the machines everything is behind the counter and when you ask for a cup i get ask 1 million questions for a damn cup to get some coffee then proceed to tell me its a lot of bums in the area like what does that have to do with me I feel like she assumed I'm homeless or something i didnt ask why the cups are behind the counter I really didn't care I came in for some French vanilla for my wife that's it that's all nasty attitudes don't belong in customer service I have a few corporate and district friends i will be reporting this to Also no way I should be coming of a cruise spending thousands of dollars to walk in a 7-Eleven tourist and feel like I'm being profile as a homeless person unappcceptible. read more

A lot of folks have been belly-aching about 7-11 taking up residency in the old Ultramar Jewelry building because it's a "corporation." Seriously hippies, shut the fuck up. The place sat vacant for probably 15 years. So what's better? The building rotting away and becoming an eye soar with the possibility of being torn down, or a major corporation coming in, restoring it's facade and bringing revenue to this historic district? A city or area cannot survive alone on independently owned and operated businesses. It's a proven fact. Annnnnyyyyywho.. We stopped in yesterday just to get a bag of 7-11's awesome HOT DOG FLAVORED chips and see what they did with the building. The outside looks great, the interior looks like a 7-11 and they had my chip in stock. All of my expectations were met. So why only 3 stars? Because I think 7-11 is missing an opportunity with the empty parking lot next door. Of course, the property might not be for sale or the owners just might not like 7-11s for some reason, but it seems to me that there should be a place to park because right now, the only traffic they're getting is foot traffic. read more

This location is located right in the heart of ybor. So off the back it's gonna get hectic at night with so many hot spot bars so close as well at the main parking garage. There is your normal crowd of homeless people asking for money as well as street performers on the weekend outside the store. I find it entertaining with everything that goes on here. Inside the store at night there's always a police officer on site. They sell singles of beer and wine as well as good deals on there hot food. They always have a good selection of hot food being once the bars let out everyone comes here for a bite to sober up. The employees are always friendly and service is fast. I've surprisingly never had a bad experience here with all my trips here. I'll definitely be returning for the convince and good service. read more

The general manager is great! He is firm in his expectations and fair with employees. Staff are mostly good. This store is one of the busiest stores in Florida (second busiest I believe) and is understaffed. **Despite this, the District Manager (tall white guy, probably late 50s) repeatedly berated management and staff in front of customers**. It is unprofessional to yell at staff like he did, and honestly I no longer want to support this company. A company which permits a District Manager to belittle staff and the store manager is not one I want to associate with. And when I say yelling, I mean screaming at the manager in the middle of the store when customers are all around. I think the regional manager or franchisee should take action. His statements also regarding "this generation" imply discrimination and animosity towards most staff who are of younger age. I was a brand new employee and specifically quit due to him. The GM trained me well, the staff were supportive, and this guy (DM) is a word class narcissistic a-hole! read more

My friend came in for simply some water for a stray cat, willingly to pay for it too, and cat food or canned tuna. Store manager called the cops when he refused to leave since NOBODY ELSE WAS OPEN! CLEARLY this manager has zero emotions. I wonder what if you needed water for a fellow human being down the road and only had 90% of the cash on you.
