    Salmon Salad

TLDR: Great food, quick and kind service and a nice environment. I went to 712 with a friend on a Friday night (around 5p). I was pleasantly surprised to see that it wasn't super busy. The pace did start picking up around 6:30. The food was great! If you're considering getting appetizers, one is more than enough to share. I loved the cost to serving size ratio on everything we got. The food was wonderful! Depths to the flavors in all the meals. The server had a genuinely hard time picking the best thing on the menu, which I took as a good sign. After trying the salmon salad, the elote fries, and the fried pickles, I can see why. Word of caution: You will be tempted to eat all of the fries and pickles before your meal comes out. Next time, I would see if the appetizers and the entree could come out at the same time so I can eat more of the main entree.

I honestly think you can't go wrong with the 712. We have been wanting to try this place for a while and finally got the chance. It's a very "now" kind of place, great decor, very clean and bright! Our waitress Ally was amazing , she had great recommendations for us and we tried a few of them. The "elote fries" are to die for. I had "that chicken sandwich " which was amazing. She had "Emily's salad" which is a fusion beet salad. We both had their nights special of the brisket mushroom soup. Soooo good!! We've been back since our initial visit, and will definitely make the 712 apart of our regular places to eat!

Came here for dinner and drinks after seeing it on the Resy app and wanting to try it. It was a nice night to sit outside so say on the patio. It's not the greatest view, as it's in a shopping center and close to a semi-busy road. Service was good, not great. It took a bit to get someone to take our order but once the waiter came, he was attentive and quick. Food was just slightly above bar food..the fried food was a bit overly fried and everything was just overly salty. The cocktails were good, but nothing spectacular. Overall, probably wouldn't come back unless it was just for a drink and appetizer.

I went to 712 with two friends and my toddler, and we had a wonderful time! I ordered the Cajun chicken pasta for myself and the pepperoni flatbread with fries for my daughter. We really enjoyed our food! The pasta was definitely spicy, but I couldn't stop eating it- it was so good! My daughter was mostly interested in her fries, but the fries and the flatbread saved very well as leftovers. Our waitress was really great, and made it easy to have a toddler with us! I always do appreciate restaurants that make it easy to dine out with kids!

Came here for Sunday brunch and it was pretty busy, was seated immediately and our waiter was great! I forgot his name, but he said he had been there for 7yrs. I ordered the creme brûlée waffle, omelet and my son got the chicken and waffles. The food is INCREDIBLE and worth every penny! Their sister restaurant (402 Eat and Drink) is pretty good too! Most definitely enjoyed the food and service! Parking is easy to get and looking forward to coming back for more!

We had a great experience at 712 Eat + Drink. We came on a weeknight about an hour or so before close. Got sat immediately and the waitress was very accommodating as we had our baby and let us order her food first. Got the kids Alfredo which was a big portion and very good not just some bagged Alfredo. Big hit. I got the Cuban sandwich with the side salad. It was a very good Cuban one of the better ones I've had in a while. The side salad was tasty as well really enjoyed the house made vinaigrette that had a great sweet but not too sweet taste. My wife got the Cajun chicken pasta which she really enjoyed then she mixed the leftover Alfredo and Cajun chicken pasta leftovers the next day and said it was amazing! She enjoyed her drink but I don't remember what she got unfortunately it's pictured. Thought the murals were really cool as well. Definitely would come back.

Had a great experience. Sat out on the patio, which is huge. Ordered a couple of appetizers and drinks before a show at CHI in downtown Omaha, a very easy drive. The Crab Rangoon Tots were delicious, we also got the Fried Shrimp and Nachos. Everything came out quick, and the server was very friendly and attentive. Huge plus that they have all day Happy Hour on Thursday's. We'll be back!

I was a party of one. Hostess forgot to mention me to one of the servers, but that can happen anywhere. Waitress was super nice and open, and was ready to go and take my order. Everything looked so pretty, I was scared to eat it but it was all so delicious! I got the Jerk Chicken Sandwich (or something to that effect) with sweet potato fries. The fries had some kind of green garnish that added a bright zing I wasn't expecting, but it worked really well. Sriracha aioli and strawberry lemonade were amazing as well. I'll definitely be coming back!

Overall food and service were good, was loud but not too bad and we were able to converse easily. Annoyingly we could not split the bill and had to put a large group all on one credit card. They also charge a credit card fee. But the food was good, large portions and their drinks were fun!

My sister and I went there for lunch. The food was incredible. First, the menu is so tempting. We wanted to order everything. We settled with crab Rangoon tots, elote fries, the artichoke flat bread and a sandwich. The sandwich was just ok in the first few bites. Turns out all the flavor items had shifted to the side of the bread. Once we rejigged the toppings it was super flavorful. The Rangoon tots were by far our favorite with the elote in a close second. The flatbread was nice but filling. Service was quick and the wait staff were all really helpful and friendly. We'll be back again for sure! I forgot to take pictures of everything else!

We were invited to a free event at the restaurant, and we were excited to try their delicious looking menu. I found a lot I wanted to try but opted for the special (steak with lobster mac). The lobster mac was very good and flavorful. I'm not a huge lobster fan so I would definitely eat the mac-n-cheese by itself next time. I requested my steak to be cooked medium but it was cooked well done. That ruined the flavor of the steak for me unfortunately. I took a bite of my son's chicken flatbread that was excellent so I wish I would have tried one of those. Definitely my plan for our next visit. One drinks tasted great, and our server was nice but crazy busy. Overall good experience that makes me want to come back.

This is a great little restaurant they had great specials and beer selection as well as awesome cocktails and mock tails. I had the short rib sandwich with a small side salad which was a great salad! The service great very attentive and awesome attitudes! The restaurant itself was adorable, amazing lighting and murals on the wall. I was very happy here!

The Council Bluffs 100 Block is the oldest commercial neighborhood in the metro area. Dating back…read moreto 1853, most of the block's buildings celebrated their sesquicentennial a couple of presidents ago. Omaha's first newspaper was printed on this block. This block is older than the invention of cocktails, imagine that. It was pretty rough and full of scoundrels in those halcyon days: journalists, lawyers, land speculators, railroad magnates, Abraham Lincoln. Eventually things improved as saloons, social clubs, gambling halls and bordellos moved in. Today, the 100 Block is to Council Bluffs what Buckhead is to Atlanta and a new whiskey bar called The Barrel is in the middle of it. The Barrel is a swanky, crafty, well-appointed, beautifully decorated, two-story lounge featuring cocktails made according to original recipes with top shelf brands. No mixes, no shortcuts. Every drink is a double just as our shameless forebears intended them. The interior is full of local art including the Barrel sign over the bar. It's well lit with high ceilings reflecting the warmth of the architecture and the staff.     The night I stopped in was moderately busy for a Friday night before 9 p.m. A dozen or so patrons filled the upstairs bar room before wandering downstairs to the more lounge-y Bottom of the Barrel. This is where the bands play and the furnishings swing more to the comfortable side of things. There is a bar here as well, but the craft cocktails were being made upstairs that night. So back upstairs, I asked for a recommendation to show me the takeaway, the thing I should know about The Barrel. Now normally, if a bartender recommends a whiskey sour I assume he thinks I'm in high school or doesn't want a tip, but the gregarious gent behind the bar that night was telling sincere stories, and not just with his beautiful scalp tattoos. The Whiskey Sour was a great place to start. The simple classic has been denigrated for decades by shortcuts and mixes. But this Whiskey Sour is born again hard made with Cody Road Rye, fresh lemon, egg white and love for only $8. Spectacular. And foamy. There is a literal wall of 130 whiskeys at The Barrel Each shelf is higher than the last. Your taste is limited only by your credit. Their Old Fashioned had me at spherical ice, but I intend to return for more classics (Manhattan, Negroni, Tom Collins) or clever originals (Brockway Bulldog, Baltimore Zoo or The Night is Dark and Full of Terror). And there's beer. Exile Beatnik Sour and Lagunitas IPA ($5), Burning Skye Scottish Ale, Lucky Bucket Wide Eye Coffee Stout, Millstream Pale Ale, Brickway Maple Pecan Brown Ale, Empyrean Dark Side Vanilla Porter ($4.50) and Bud Light ($3). There is live music on Fridays and Saturdays, an open jam from 4-8 Sundays followed by an open mic until close, and comedy every second Wednesday. The Bottom of the Barrel has $3 premium wells on weekends and there is never a cover. With drinks like this, it's obvious why our ancestors were so unapologetic about drinking doubles.

The girl behind the bar was not attentive, only to the men that she knew drinking a beer. There was another gentlemen, 2 seats down, having sandwich and drinking water. There was no conversation with myself or the man eating and drinking water. Now I use to eat at this place all of the time several years ago. IT USE TO BE VERY GOOD! Now, not much favor. This place needs a completely different person for the lunch crowd. Someone who can carry on a conversation with whomever comes in. Not just the younger men that come in that she knows that is drinking beer at noon. Unfortunately, I have a gift card for this place with plenty of money left on it. Next time I come in for lunch, I will make sure this girl is not there. AND, the food is NOT as good as it use to be. No flavor what so ever.

One of my friends has been here with his co-workers a few times but I haven't been here before. (Maybe one time many many years ago that I don't remember....) We walk in on a Monday night and there were a few people there. It's a small place so I'm glad we were able to get a table. When we sat down, the bartender, (waitress as well), came right over and took our drink orders and eventually our food orders. I wanted to try their renowned broasted chicken. (A device essentially uses pressure cooking and light frying to create a thin crispy skin and juicy interior). The chicken was some of the best 'fried' chicken that I've ever had, seriously. Super crispy skin and juice inside. Reminds me a little of Korean fried chicken. The texas toast was yummy, the cole slaw was creamy (if you like creamy slaw), and the crispy tots were crispy delicious. My friend got a broasted chicken sammich and he loved it too. (High praise coming from him.) My friends and I have been wanting to go back and get more broasted chicken since we left. On Fridays, they have a 4 piece special for $13.99 that I'll have to take advantage of soon. All in all, this little bar/restaurant has some amazing food that I just didn't expect after driving and running past it for years. Can't wait to go back.
