I've already used them twice but I'd refrain from asking for more than simple alterations. Perhaps I'm underestimating their skills but I'm risk averse.

I brought them in and the tailor wasn't in. I explained to the woman that I needed them taken up by 1/2 inch. I specifically said Do Not Cut because I don't like when tailors cut when something needs to be taken up. I showed her what I wanted. Again, I said 1/2 inch. I went to pick up the other day and paid $25. When I got them home I tried on and realized that the tailor let down the hem by 1/2 inch so they were actually longer - now by a 1 inch. I brought them back with the receipt and showed both of them. The tailor pointed to the hem line to prove he did the right thing. I kept trying to tell him that he did the opposite of what I needed. The fact that you could see the previous hem line was proof since if he had made the pants shorter - as I requested - you wouldn't be able to see the previous hem line. Still, they refused to offer to redo them or offer me a refund. I found it kind of amazing. I filed a complaint with the Department of Consumer Affairs and the BBB. I realize their English isn't great but I was very clear with my instructions. Won't use them again.

What more can you ask for from a laundry service? Added bonus: since it's the same people every time I go, they recognize me and we chit chat about our days as they ring me up. It gives the whole place that neighborly sort of feel that is so comforting when you're entrusting someone with your favorite dress. For wash & fold, they have a six-pound minimum and charge $0.90 a pound, $6.00 for less than 6 pounds. I've never had anything come back stained, shrunken, or damaged in any way. Plus they speak English pretty well, so whenever I need to leave something with special instructions, like pointing out a stain or dropping off a load that is to be left damp, everything is followed to a T. Their turnaround time is good, too- drop off before work in the morning, pick up on my way home. Dry cleaning takes between two and three days and cost is average as far as dry cleaning goes. Again, they do a great job and I have no qualms about handing over some of my most expensive or delicate pieces. They also have a tailoring service, which I have never used (hence the four stars instead of five, since I haven't utilized all their services). But I've noticed many people in there getting fitted, and seen the adorable old man sitting at the sewing machine in the window working away. **EDIT: Open Monday-Friday 7a-7p, Saturday 8a-6p, closed Sunday.

Part of why I get this service is so that I don't have to lug all my pounds of laundry with my skinny arms... and even if I noted this several times in the order, it's gone ignored until after it's been dropped off. What's the point of putting a note in your order if it goes ignored several times? 2) delivery mishap 2 - delay. Initially I was told that it's because my credit card info was updated too late. When I questioned them about why they said "you're all set" without confirming/denying a delay, they then said it's because the deliveries go out early and they take the steps to load the delivery vehicle even with those whose payments aren't confirmed. Then why didn't they tell the driver? If they couldn't reroute why couldn't they tell me? They didn't contact me about a delay until 10pm (my delivery window was 9-10) and that was only AFTER I emailed them. After I question this, they then tell me that there was traffic and an issue at a previous delivery location. Which is all fine (this is NYC after all, and stuff happens), but I don't appreciate the changing story. One plus was that the driver was super nice and apologetic. 3) twice my laundry wasn't all completely folded. They did give me a credit in my account for this, but I thought it went without saying that all of my items should be folded (unless I asked for hang dry)? Why was this even an issue... twice? I may or may not use this service again... it is too bad because I did really like using them, but there have just been too many "kinks" and I'll have to rethink booking with them in the future.

After so much time has passed, LOAD is still claiming they are correct in BLAMING ME for delivering my laundry to the WRONG DOOR which resulted it in being stolen. Not only is it NOT LEGALLY my building's fault ( Or mine) since my agreement was with LOAD (not my building) to ensure my laundry was delivered to MY DOOR, not a door NEAR MINE OR A DOOR THAT LOOKED LIKE MINE. Customers DO NOT have to take my review to be true. My original review is still up and has screen shots of how they asked me change my review if they compensated me for THIER ERROR. All future prospective customers have to do is look at 99% of all of their other reviews to see how awful they are. Also, I never got a full refund for the cost of my belongings, I received a portion of what my belongings were valued at. Bottom line: If you value your clothes, DO NOT SEND THEM HERE. Buyer beware, this place is unethical and will continue to bother you for months. To make certain they stop, I will contact the Better Business Bureau and report them. That should finally and hopefully put this issue to rest. Also, I use RINSE now and they are prompt, arrive when promised and have not lost a single item once and offer free bags if you don't reach their weight level. Then someone started texting me, telling me that they use Doordash white glove service and kept pushing me to use them. I kept saying no and and requested the cancellation/refund they promised me. Now they charged me $70 for doing nothing. I will be making a similar review on the BBB. Please avoid this place. They just lie and they're very desperate for service.

None of this compared to receiving my clothes back this evening-- I just went to go pick up my things, and was told that I had too many hanging clothes. It was probably true, because I dropped off a larger load than usual, but I didn't think they would handle it the way they did. They washed the clothing, and then threw them, still sopping wet, into a big plastic bag. There are much better places in the city that actually wash your clothes on the premises, hang them properly, and that are about the same price.

I probably had 30 items altered by them--nice pants, dresses, blouses, etc. and they were always done incredibly well, for an amazing price. The dry cleaning was also always done well and on time. The two owners are always so friendly, professional, speedy and attentive to their work. They were one of the nicest and most reliable services I've used in New York. Tried to post this before, not sure it went through…read more The men who run this business are very nice and accommodating but unfortunately I had some experiences I wanted to bring up to potential future customers so they avoid the problems I had. There are some hidden charges they may or may not charge you. I was made aware of an extra "bleach" charge and was asked if I wanted that charge. It was only a few dollars. However, there is a "spot-check" charge that you apparently need to tell them (without knowing they will charge it to you) that you don't want (unless you do). It adds like $8 to the total. When I called to inquire about it I was told that information was on the website. Several visits to all the boilerplate/terms and conditions areas of the website yielded no such information, at least that I was able to find. In addition, the claim on the website of "next day service" is only true if you get them the laundry by 2 pm. Once again, I naively assumed that as long as the laundry was picked up by the end of business hours on one business day that it would be done the next day. If you have them pick up anytime after 2 pm it is actually a 48 hour turnaround. I was told this information was on the website as well but several searches yielded nothing. Lastly, and I know this is a danger of anytime you trust someone else to do your laundry, but the one item that was irreplaceable (a cotton lamp cover that had never been washed before) was destroyed-shredded. I know it wasn't the fabric as the other lamp cover came out fine, only the one was destroyed. When I called to complain they noted the best they could do was give me a $5 credit towards a future order. As this item is one of a kind, I will have to actually buy a new lamp to get this replaced, which will be significantly more than $5. As I said, I know accidents happened but given the nature of this situation I had hoped for a more mutually agreeable solution. As I said, they are very nice. Additionally, all my other clothes seemed to be okay. Just wanted to put this information out there.
