My friend and I had a lot of fun. We used a lot of the two person shooting games. Some of them kept eating up our coins ... like not registering them. But whatever we kept playing. The bar service was fast and cool. Overall had a good time playing for a couple of hours.

It's rare to see local arcades in this day and age, but I'm glad this one exists. It's a nice and small bar-cade that serves a few drafts and various canned beers. The arcades had a mixture of old school and new school games. You'll see cocktail table arcades of Frogger and Burger Time. Shooters like Area 51 and Terminator Salvation. Classic Simpsons beat'em up and Street fighter. As well as the new school 2012 Ninja Turtles arcade and a Minecraft beat'em up. There's a good selection of pinball games as well that fills up the whole side of one of their walls. They have a patio area in the back if you just prefer to drink with some friends or you can just sit on a stool at the bar. There aren't too many tables around the arcades, so I found it difficult to find a place for my beer as I'm playing some games. Some of the cabinets have glass holders above them, but it's a bit hard to reach for a short guy like me. So not very convenient to drink and play which is unfortunate since that's what customers wants to do. Also a lot of the arcades have slanted control panels, so you can't safely rest your beer on their either. I don't think I'm comfortable with placing my drink on the floor since it looks worn out and obviously it'll be dirty with people walking around. The some of the controls on the arcades aren't very usable. Mostly the joysticks. Noticed this for a lot of the fighting games so those should go through some maintenance. After fixing these issues, I think the place could see a lot more customers.

An awesome game bar with a wide selection of fantastic pinball machines! I tried a lot of them and they all played great! The space is large (even some outdoor space as well) and the service is perfect. The bartender was very attentive and did not have to wait for anything. Also, the BBQ chicken pizza was fantastic and was ready pretty quickly. Can't wait to come back again and play/drink/eat some more.

My epic cheese pizza that I demolished. YUM! I'm 4'11" but I eat like I'm 6'4".

Oh where to begin. This is where gamers not so young and old come together to battle it out with their favorite old school arcade games and pinball machines. For the millennials reading this, back in my day we didn't have the luxury of playing video games in the comfort of our own home. We had to actually go somewhere and to play and we had to pay a quarter per game. But I digress, 8-bit is strategically located at the heart of downtown Renton. This hidden gem is authentic to its core. You will find the old school Pac-Man table top version arcade game, Galaga, and old school pinball machines galore. Stepping through the threshold is like walking back into a time machine to the golden age of gamers. This place instantly stole my heart when I saw they had Q-Bert. This place is dimly lit with neon lights giving everyone that iridescent purple hue. The hum of electricity and the sound of men and women frantically pressing down plastic round buttons to attack a myriad of villains take on a life of its own. Your eyes acclimate to the RGB color graphics everywhere and you soon forget about high definition. The only other constant sound you hear is the sound of laughter as the young groups filter in from the street and the clink of beer bottles as another group raises their drinks in celebration of something. This is the place where you lose yourself for an hour and have fun with no judgement. I love that this is exclusive to the 21 and up club after 9pm. Youngsters need not bother because they will check ID. My favorite item on the menu was the alcoholic tropical peach slushy. Yes, you heard me right. And it was delish. And strong. As I finished my adult slushy of course I got hungry and had to order a whole cheese pizza for myself which I gladly demolished. The man behind the bar has service down to a science. Place was busy and he held it down. Didn't have to wait too long for our order. What you will not find here: bad vibes, kiosks that allow you to load money on a card to swipe to play games, dance dance revolution, bro-y douchebags wearing affliction shirts. What you will find is epic old school games, inexpensive drinks, art drawn on pizza boxes hung up on the walls and most prevalently you will find what makes Renton: Renton. At the center of this establishment you will find its patrons, young and old, of all ethnic backgrounds, some with robust 401k's and others just starting on their career path. This mural of people , this intangible positive vibe is what you will never get at a Dave and Buster's. Corporate copycats trying to placate every demographic lose when it comes to authenticity. 8-Bit reigns supreme in that category. P.S. - when you do end up going, try to find the Simpsons game. It's located in the front. Look for the high score list. WOK and JOE highest scores respectively. If you can beat our score, I'll buy you a beer.

Ask the Community - 8 Bit Arcade Bar

Is there a cover charge to enter?

No charge to get in. But I recommend bringing dollars so you can exchange for quarters at the machine and be able to play the games.

    Does 8 bit have A/C?

YES!! Nice and chilly place to hang out all summer!

Is there a coin machine or do we need to bring our own quarters? Or is it all digital?

No digital currency. Coin machine on site, near the men's bathroom. If you feed $20 know that it drops $10 at a time so wait for 2 drops.

Do they have DDR?! (Dance dance revolution) 🙏😂

    No they do not

Visiting from chicago this weekend! wondering if I can come with my younger brother (19)?

    I'm pretty sure it's all ages before 9pm. After that it's 21+.

What is the cut off time and the cut off age for that time? Thanks!

    21+ after 9:30PM, I do believe.

    How's the parking there?

It can be tricky at times to find parking as it is downtown and no dedicated lot close by. You have to hope to find street parking or walk a couple blocks down to a small lot and hope there is a space available.

Located inside Factoria Mall, the venue is large, with an arcade and prize game area in front of the mini golf course. My friends eagerly played some games to win novelty toys and tried the cotton candy maker. I played some pinball so if any of this sounds fun in addition to golfing, they have it here. The course as expected has about 16 holes, all with varying lengths, obstacles and angles. It's a lot of fun lining up different putts. The decor has a sort of comedic-horror art with a Washington theme and other mechanical props to add to the fun and ambience. The snag? The same issue I have at most mini golf places, people start to get bunched up behind you because their playing too fast/making their own rules or whatever. Were we playing too slow? Maybe. There were four of us and we played as quickly as we could but alas... Even the staff girl told us we're capped at 5 swings a piece at one point before we need to move on. Needless to say, by the end we had several impatient people waiting behind us. I know this isn't Monsters fault per se, but I repeatedly saw kids just putting the ball near the hole for easy shots to go faster or smaller children crying and jumping random holes out of order. Would love to do it again but perhaps on a weekday or a morning when there is less crowds.

I was completely blown away…read more From the moment we walked in, the level of professionalism and cleanliness stood out, especially for a kids' arcade and activity center. Everything felt well run and thoughtfully managed. One thing that really impressed me as a parent was the staff member monitoring the entrance and exit. He was incredibly attentive. He recognized us, noticed our child, and was clearly keeping track of who was coming and going. Of course, you should always watch your own kids, but having someone that alert adds a huge layer of peace of mind. We used a Groupon, and if you have ever used one, you know it can sometimes be a hassle, but not here. The process was seamless. A staff member radioed ahead for us, and by the time we got to the snack counter, they already knew what to do. No waiting, no confusion. We were set up immediately and on our way. That level of coordination was impressive. Every game we tried was working perfectly, including VR games, which is rare in most arcades. Even smaller details, like all the basketballs being available at the Papa Shot machines, did not go unnoticed. The kids' drop ride was a huge hit with my daughter, and the claw machines, which guarantee a prize, were a fun bonus, especially as a way to end the visit on a high note. The prize center was also well balanced, with reasonable ticket costs and fun options. They had some great games too, like rhythm games and classics, that made it enjoyable for both kids and adults. The real surprise was the food. We ordered pizza expecting typical arcade food, but it exceeded expectations by a mile. It was soft, fresh, and genuinely delicious, easily better than what you would find at places like Chuck E. Cheese. The entire dining area was spotless, which is almost unheard of in venues like this. Tables were clean. Floors were clean. Everything felt cared for. The service continued to impress throughout. Our food came out quickly, and when we finished, the staff handled all the cleanup. We actually went out of our way to find cash just to leave a tip because the service deserved it. We originally came for the full experience, including batting cages, laser tag, go karts, and mini golf, but honestly, even before doing any of that, I can confidently say this place is incredibly well run. Based on everything we experienced, I have no doubt the rest will be just as great. If you are a parent looking for a fun, safe, and well managed place for your kids that you will actually enjoy too, this is it.

This place gives Dave and Buster vibes but has both and indoor and outdoor component. You can earn tickets to redeem for items and I was quite surprised about how big of a venue was here. It was rainy and we stay indoors so I can't really comment on the outdoor components. Overall, I'd come back but it's not my "go-to" for indoor gaming/food activity.

Terrible... We had to wait 2 1/2 hours to get a lane. When there was three lanes the whole time not being used. There were three pool tables just sitting there, but not allowed to be used. No reason stated why. The prices are outrageous for their mediocre bar food and for drinks. One beer was $10... same as at the stadium... Our lanes became open about 9:15pm and they did not have my size 13's available, so I could not bowl with my group. At that time, there were 2 open lanes still. When the second game started, I went to the counter and they still did not have my size so I was never able to bowl with my group. I strongly doubt that tonight was the first night that they ran out of size 13. Unacceptable. During the first game, our balls were not being sent back from the machine. So both our lanes and groups had to wait 25 minutes for them to get our balls returned. While waiting, we had two staff members standing in the lanes, I am guessing to prevent anyone from throwing any until the situation ended. There was only one single bathroom for Men available. I literally waited over 20 minutes (no exaggeration) in line just to use the bathroom. Some men were using the Women's bathroom when no one was around. There could not have been any management on site, if there was, they should be embarrassed by the poor quality service, condition of their restroom facility, and use of their amenities for entertainment we're not maintained. Not good for groups, not good for food, not good if you need to use the restroom, not good for anything except dumping your money in the gaming machines. There are opportunities here; that are not being capitalized on, so return business from people will not be attracted.

Also, we finished our escape room early and the employee there let us try five minutes of another virtual reality simulation because we hadn't used up our full hour with the other one.
