This is the place to be if you enjoy having a drink, a cigar, peace of mind and some great guy talk amongst friends and strangers as well. My friend mentioned that he had heard of this place and wanted to check it out. So, we had a friend fly in from Hawaii who wanted to go out and we decided on this place. We arrived behind the establishment and walked around to get the the lounge but did notice some parking in front. The only reason I mention this is just incase someone reads this and has an issue with parking. There are clubs and bars around so this could be a helpful tip. Anyway, upon arrival the place looks small with maybe 4 recliners, the cash register and the cigar steam humidified room with a large selection of cigars. Once you select your cigar, Mario (great guy at the front), lights you up and directs you to the back where all the action takes place! ** The cover was $10 a person and they have a yearly membership fee of $480 and that includes year round access and you can bring up to ten guess with the $10 cover charge waived for each person. They also have personal lockers which are $50 I believe (don't quote me). Police, fire and military get a yearly membership at the discounted price of $300. ** Ok back to the lounge, as you walk through the hallway, you open the door and you're greeted by a room with about 15 TVs, a bar, and some high stools. I believe this is where they host sports events and for people to smoke and socialize. Then you have the option to proceed even further to another room which is the lounge area with large couches, recliners, tv's, shuffle board and a jukebox. The vibe was dope and everyone was cool. They have a waitress who comes to see if you would like any drinks from the bar and keeps your water glasses topped off. Overall, this is a lounge we will be attending frequently, and we may possibly get a membership. OOOOO 5 out of 5 Afros

This is actually a really nice cigar lounge. They do have a full bar and the servers have always been very nice and accommodating. They have a nice selection of cigars and you can order food from restaurants in the area and food will be delivered directly to your table.

Stopped in after dinner and drinks for a cigar and, yes, more drinks. This place is the perfect vertex point of chill and class as far as cigar lounges go, it's one of my faves as I can come here at any time with any type of group and I know they'll enjoy themselves. The bar is stocked with a good arrangement of bourbon, and they have a good selection of cigars. If you haven't been here yet then I recommend that you do. :)

Finally checked this place out. It's awesome, will definitely go again. Friendly staff, excellent bar, cool clientele. Plenty of TVs with sports on. A back room with leather coaches. Loved the vibe.

I prefer my cigar lounges quieter with jazz, but this being one of the last cigar bar bastions in California, I'm all for the more raucous atmosphere! Also met Peter and Joey who are great people. The humidor keeps the cigars well; my Padron had an easy drag so I had to slow down between drags to prevent burning it, and the construction wasn't defective in anyway, giving it a clean flat burnline all the way down. Looking forward to my next visit!

Wow! I mean, wow! My buddy Hector had been pumping me up to go here, for the longest time. Everyone here knows Hector, and I'm not kidding. Everyone. We strolled in, after a delicious meal and drinks at Les Amis, next door. Hector immediately introduced me to a kind gentleman behind the counter and we headed into the walk-in humidor. The selection was vast and I needed help finding "a flavored chick cigar." I was shown a box and took a sniff and it seemed the perfect choice. It ended up being Moontrance Flavours by CAO. It was quite honestly, the best cigar I've had in years. Aside from the actual shop, there's a door to a private room (membership only) which consists of leather seats, big screen tvs, high-top tables, a bar, and the friendliest staff and people you'll ever come across. Everyone wants to meet and get to know one another and the generosity of buying a round becomes habit, quickly. Make this a destination stop, if you haven't already. read more

Behind the cigar lounge is an exclusive members only pass to a bar lounge. The best mojito I've tasted was from here, but maybe it had a lot to do with the bartender, as he took the time to muddle the mint leaves. The drinks are great & the atmosphere makes it a wonderful place to relax and have a drink or smoke. read more

No doubt about it an amazing place to spend a couple of hours every now and then! Great cigars variety, good alcohol selection. But the best part is the staff! Wow! The minute I stepped in I was welcomed to my new home. Zack greeted me and gave me a tour of the facility and introduce me to the cigars and the VIP. I was soo excited I signed up to be a member... A great place to hang out and I learned a lot from Freddy about cigar since I'm a rookie. Lol A+ to Check out! A must stop by and hang out location! I was a guest and we made the mistake of going during the playoffs, which felt like an obnoxious sports bar instead of a relaxing setting. Things got better after the game, but I didn't want to yell at my friends over the TV. Our fault for going during the game, next time I get invited to go, we'll make sure it's an significant day. read more

If you ever smoked a cigar, this place is the ultimate! Soon as you walk in you feel very home there's a large humidor with a wide selection of cigars. Become a member and you can enter the back where the bar and fun begins. They have all high quality liquor and the coldest taps. I highly recommend this place you won't be disappointed! read more

So its NOT $40 bucks to get into the lounge. More like $10 for a day pass. Worth every penny! May be one of only a few full fledge cigar lounges in Cali. But don't quote me! In any case, feel like I'm in Atlanta, smoking good sticks, drinking food scotch. read more

I'm an avid cigar smoker. I heard about this place and decided to come down. Walked into a small, I guess they consider it a lounge with 2 seats. The cigar selection was decent but to go to the back room, bigger lounge with a full bar, costs $40. I just spent $50 on three cigars and now I have to spend $40 to smoke and spend more money to drink. I'd rather go to my spot, Bos, in Bellflower, nicer lounge, nice TVs and you dont have to pay to sit down. read more

We tried 8 Eight Eight for the first time. The staff is excellent in every way. They were friendly and efficient. It was a pleasure to enjoy a fine cigar with an extensive selection of drinks in a friendly atmosphere. We will be back. It is a shame that these types of clubs have to be made private since our freedoms have been eroded. Great place and we look forward to our next visit. read more

Love this place! My girlfriends and I love coming here. The staff are very knowledgeable so they can help with selecting the right cigar for you. Alma is your girl, if she's bartending, have her make you her special drink! It's so tasty it'll sneak up on you. The ambiance is awesome, it's the perfect man cave yet still have a welcoming appeal for Women to enjoy themselves. read more

We loved this place. I took my boyfriend for his birthday on Saturday night as part of my ATF Day I had planned. He said he had been there several years ago when it was Red Cloud. They were very nice up at the front of the store and showed us around. The cigar selection was good and the prices were fair.b We got a pass to go in the back private room for later that night after we ate dinner. The back room is members only but I guess you can get in if the owner invites you. They have a bar and the big screen tv's and big comfy leather chairs perfect for a smoker. I am not a typical girl and I like sports and fast cars and all things boy so I don't think all girls would like it here. Definitely a guys guy kinda place. I don't smoke and I was the DD so I watched the game, had some free popcorn and a coke but it was a good time for my boyfriend! A few NOTES: you will smell like smoke when you leave. The live music didn't add much to the atmosphere since they were performing near the tv's and I would rather just watch the games that were on. See you again soon read more

Taco Tuesday was great- authentic and tasty. First time here and was not let down- great ambiance, clientele, and decor. Front room had many Large big screen TV with something for everybody. A back room also for a quieter scene. Again something for everyone. Owner was great and made sure I was at home. recommend this place read more

What a find! If you enjoy cigars, this is the place to be! As you walk in you'll be greeted by the cigar expert. I had the pleasure of working with Harold. He showed me their very extensive collection of cigars & was very knowledgable on his products. Always important to me! After that, I was surprised as it looked like he was taking me to the back, but as we entered through the hallway, I was impressed with a full size bar! With a VIP lounge in the back back with pool darts, virtual golf, & of course a jukebox to choose your tunes! The bar had a very classy speakeasy feel to it. Everyone was elegantly dressed, & you have to be a member to enjoy the back. Which personally, I love. When the college crowd has made all the local bars packed like sardines, it's a nice place to take a lady, or some friends & escape the chaos for a little. Members can bring up to 5 guests at one time too! I'm definitely signing up to be a member, & can't wait to head back for a very classy night. Been here several times. Wish vegas had a place like this. Sadly on my last visit even after spending a couple hundred dollars on cigars and a cutter (xitar XO) the saleman wanted to charge me and my son $10 each to go to the bar area. I spoke so highly of this place prior to arriving and this idiot embarrassed me. read more

A new Favorite cigar lounge of mine. Although it's a bit of a drive for me, it's well worth it. They have a variety of Sticks available for purchase. The best part is the fully stocked bar. I finally found a friendly cigar lounge that serves liquor. If you're not a member, there's a small cover charge of which I'm happy to pay. Totally worth the money. read more

THEN, and yall; I was a little lit but not drunk drunk, I was talking to the bar tender we were chopping it up and having a good talk then this girl who I said I hi to thought I was hitting on her and I told her I was married to a man and then I asked her "did you think I was hitting on you" she dismissed me but then apparently she told the bar tender that I did something because I was ASKED TO LEAVE - I have never in my life written a review for anywhere and I also have never EVER been escorted out of a bar at all let alone for no valid reason. I wish it went better because love dancing and it's a place to dance near my house but i definitely will never be back and would NOT reccomend this bar to anyone ever.

The door is very well hidden, I thought it'd be in a basement around the corner or something. The space is really small, so big groups are not advised. I had the niña fresa, a strawberries and creme type drink. Delicious! If you like sweet drinks, otherwise do not get it. I had the Saturn afterwards. Still a little sweet, but mostly sour. The server came by to say that we only had 25 min left, so we hurriedly ordered a last drink. But when he delivered it, it magically became 5 min! I chugged my drink and was ushered out the door. Overall it was pretty nice but I didn't enjoy having to rush at the very end.

Now, many places like to call themselves a dive bar just because they never clean a single inch of their establishment and have seedy patrons that love to play the more than occasional 80's songs on the jukebox but don't be mistaken, a good dive bar is hard to find. Well, I happen to have found one and it's in Fullerton of all places. That's right, Fullerton, not Los Angeles, nor Hollywood nor some pop-culturally over-hyped city. What makes The Blue Door a good dive bar? First, there's earned consistency & routine. The drinks won't always be made well, or the bartender won't always be attentive but if you come a few times, you'll soon know at what time and day the drinks are made properly by knowing the schedules of the bartenders. Secondly, the drinks are stiff, the service is friendly and nobody bothers you unless you bother them. The atmosphere goes from lively and loud to quiet and solitary, again depending upon when you visit. Lastly, they're open from 6:00AM-2:00AM. They're not just there when the hipsters are around, they're there for you whenever you make the bad decision of using alcohol as an anesthetic. My family and I decided to visit for the first time for British cuisine. It's not a far departure…read morefrom foods of other cultures around the locality, but you'll notice differences between British and American English, for example. Many of their dishes include chips, which during my visit, resembled steak fries due to their thickness. You'll also see that curry is a signature dish in the menu, which reflects how Anglo-Indian cuisine has maintained popular influence in the United Kingdom. I ordered Cutty Sark's curry with chicken, rice, and chips at medium spice. The name is derived from a British merchant vessel that operated during the late 1800s. The curry had a mix of savory and sweet flavors, which reminded me of both Japanese and Indian cuisines at the same time. I couldn't say with certainty that the curry fit into just one cuisine. Packed with some heat and bold in spice, it's a delightful and large dish if you desire a lot of flavor. Where the curry went a little off course was the addition of celery. The petiole is strongly flavored and distracts from the curry in my perhaps controversial opinion. Curry seems to better mix with potatoes and carrots. I tried some of the bacon sarnie as well. The word "sarnie" is an affectionate diminutive for "sandwich." American bacon usually comes from pork belly, which provides a flavorful yet oily crispiness. However, the British variant usually comes from the loin, which is meatier and leaner. I thought of the bacon here as similar to a savory ham. The sarnie bread is fried in fat to emphasize buttery flavor. The restaurant, filled with English decorations, has the style of a cozy and dim pub. There's a good amount of small wooden booths with cracked leather seating. Our server was really nice and made sure we got everything we needed despite the busyness of the restaurant. For example, my curry came with a chutney, and I had asked for a lid to take it home. While I forgot to take the chutney home, she went outside as she noticed that we took the back exit to look at their double-decker bus. She even offered to take a picture of us. The service deserves a lot of kudos, and we were grateful for her consideration.

And honestly, that wouldn't have been the worst thing. The décor here is fantastic. While waiting, I found myself admiring all the details and soaking in the atmosphere. It genuinely felt like we'd stepped into another country without the hassle of passports, customs, or a 10-hour flight. Having never been to a British pub before, I was excited to experience something different. We were seated in a cozy leather booth that looked straight out of a vintage European train car. "Cozy" is definitely the operative word here. If you're dining with someone, prepare for the possibility of an accidental knee-to-knee alliance. It wasn't an issue for us, but taller guests might find themselves wishing for just a few more inches of legroom. For our meals, I went with one of their signature dishes, the fish and chips, while my girlfriend ordered the seafood platter. Looking to start things off properly, we asked our server for an appetizer recommendation. He suggested the chips with curry sauce, which sounded great at the time. What we didn't realize was that our entrées were already arriving with enough fries to sustain a small village. When the food landed, we suddenly found ourselves in possession of what felt like the restaurant's entire potato inventory. The curry sauce itself was tasty, but in hindsight, something like the garlic mushrooms or vegetarian samosas might have given us a little more variety. I ordered the two-piece cod fish and chips, which came with a mountain of steak fries and a tiny scoop of coleslaw that looked like it had wandered onto the plate by mistake. The fish was good, but the portion was impressively hearty. I made it about halfway through before my body politely informed me that further eating would require a nap. The curry sauce was enjoyable, though not quite the life-changing experience I'd secretly hoped for. The real MVP was our server, who remained friendly and attentive throughout the meal despite looking like he was covering half the restaurant by himself. He checked in regularly and did a great job taking care of us. Overall, the atmosphere was the highlight of the visit. Between the immersive décor, cozy pub vibes, and generous portions, it was a fun and memorable experience. Just be warned: if you order fries as an appetizer, make sure you're prepared to commit to a serious relationship with potatoes.

Never had it that way before. The fettuccine was more cream than cheese. The cacio de pepe was pepe above all and every other flavor. None of us finished our plates. Dessert saved the night from mostly horrible flavors. Tiramisu, cheesecake and crème brûlée were delicious. I'm going to assume the chef was not working last night and back-up chef is still on a learning curve. Disappointing for the price tag. Ambiance is cute but typical Italian bistro with a full bar. And parking is miserably terrible in old town but that's normal for this area. Try if you're inclined, but maybe don't go for the pasta.

An excellent cigar lounge & bar. The front of the house is casual and the walk-in humidor is extensive. The back of the house is a private cigar club for members only - but the owners are gracious if you want to take a quick look. Also, the membership is extremely reasonable especially considering the venue and all the great social events they host - including high-end tastings. We here at OC Kickboxing were lucky to work with 8 Eighty Eight Cigar Lounge at the recent, Fullerton College Foundation's President's Gala.
