I made a last minute reservation pretty easily and it wasn't super busy, we came here on Sunday at 11:30 AM. We did have issues finding parking but it is street parking, not sure if there are any parking garages in the area. The reservation was made for the 1st floor but they didnt have issues moving us to the 2nd floor and it was so cute. There were string lights and good music. I ordered the Rubber Ducky cocktail which was super cute but not super tasty. We did ended up with getting the bottomless $28 cocktail/mimosa. My friend did the espresso martini but it seemed to missing something. The mimosas came with three different juices, orange, strawberry and peach, all delicious. For brunch, I ordered the Brunch Skillet which was delicious and had a very good spice kick. My friend got the 801 Breakfast Sandwich. It looked pretty good. Overall, we had a great time and they didn't rush us at all but the service was just a little slow, seemed like it was just 2 bartenders and I did wish they checked on us a little more but otherwise a good experience.

Food was delicious. My personal favorite were the carne asada tacos and truffle fries! The staff were so nice and friendly. We really enjoyed our meal we had to come back!

They are super nice. It's a cute space, and warm on this cold day They have a small downstairs and an even smaller space upstairs but they have two bars! The music was a little loud, but not too upsetting. I got the Cali Burger, it was pretty good, I ate it all.

FOOD: I'd marry that French toast. There are no words just joy. Do you need a cocktail served in a bathtub...indeed, you do! SERVICE: Jamie was behind the bar and on tables. But he did not miss a beat and that was worth applause. When I arrived it wasn't busy but by the time I departed it was definitely lively. That didn't stop him from constantly checking in. He was kind, answered all my questions about menu modifications and even called the kitchen from the rooftop. AMBIANCE: The wrong rooftop on a rainy day could suck! But this WASN'T the wrong rooftop. A time was had by all. The mix of of folks who found their way up the 3 flights to 801's rooftop were a great time. The play list didn't hurt the vibes on bit.

We were here to grab brunch with our friends. We did not have reservations, so we got really lucky to get a nice table for 4. Hostess was very nice. We ordered bottomless mimosas for the table. They bring various juices for your mimosa and the Prosecco was great too. For food we ordered eggs with sausage and bacon. Food is mostly American with some Mexican blended into it. Huge portions as I couldn't finish mine. It was very delicious. Price was nominal compared to other brunch places. Ambiance was great. Parking can be hard to find in this area.

My friend and I came here before a 930 club show for dinner. They had good reviews, but I didn't take a good look at their menu. It's a bit of Mexican food for dinner, along with some other food, which was wonderful. My friend and I shared the roasted cauliflower and steak fajitas. They even provided extra tortillas for us, which came out hot. Everything was phenomenal and I would definitely come back here. The ambiance was great and they even had a rooftop I'll have to check out next time. I definitely suggest this place before a show at the 930 club or other clubs in the area.

I haven't been to many rooftop spots. I'm changing that, & this spot is one of many to come!! With that being said I went to this rooftop spot on Florida avenue In N.W. D.C. Let's go... . Where I am: @801dc . Location Reviewed: 801 Florida Ave., N.W. Washington D.C. . Menu Includes: *See Website* https://www.801dc.com/ . Items Reviewed: Their 801 Rum Punch (Coconut rum, with a house punch $12). DECENT. More rum than flavor... Their Lemon Crush Mocktails (with lemonade, & a spritzer $7). PASS. One of the drinks had something floating in it, the other, unfortunately was too bitter. Their QuesaBirria Tacos (beef birria, with chihuahua cheese, inside a blue corn tortilla with consummé $18). DELICIOUS. Cheesy, meaty, & crunchy...with the consummé...good. Their Steak Tid Bits (chopped flank steak with sautéed peppers, onions, & horseradish sauce over a bed of fries $12). DELICIOUS. The steak was a tad too tough, but its seasoning was...good. Their Lobster Mac & Cheese Balls (chopped lobster, & deep fried mac n cheese beignets with a marinara sauce $13). DECENT. I needed more flavor, & lobster. Their Pomme Frites (fries with ketchup, & house dipping sauce $8). DECENT. They were ok fries, with a tangy mayo dip. Their Strawberry Salad (with spinach, goat cheese, walnuts, & a raspberry vinaigrette $12). PASS. The vinaigrette was overpowering, & the strawberries weren't fresh. Their Chili Salmon (with chili ancho, Chile guajillo, mashed sweet potato, & a mango pico de gallo $22). PASS. The salmon was old, & extremely fishy. This combination didn't blend well. Their Chicken Al Pipian (fried chicken with pipian Rojo, spinach, & rice $18). DELICIOUS. Well fried, the Rojo was...good. . Online Navigation: Easy . Customer Service: Decent. They spoke. But it just took a while for me & my company to get served. . Parking: ROUGH!! Uber, Bus, Subway, Lyft!! . Music: YouTube-Backyard Band Pocket . Recommendations: The fries. 5 Stars=STAMP 4 1/2 Stars=LIKE THAT 4 Stars=DELICIOUS 3 Stars=DECENT 2 Stars=PASS 1 Star=NAH #Bigschlimsreviews

This was my first time here at 801, and I must say I enjoyed myself. It wasn't busy because it was the holiday, so people probably assumed they were closed. My steak was good, just the way I like it medium rare. Scrambled with cheese, and they do charge extra for cheese. I could have had more, but it's all good. I wanted potatoes, but those fries hit the spot! The sauce on the side I poured some on my steak, which is oil and herbs. Mimosas... 3 different flavors OJ, peach, and I believe strawberry... don't quote me on that because I can't remember. It's definitely worth a visit, and all of my friends' food looked pretty good, too! Check it out!!!!

801 was pretty good. It has a pretty normal, crowd pleasing menu and reasonable prices. You aren't going to be wowed but you aren't going to be disappointed, either. Many of the reviews on here are for brunch, but I visited for dinner on a Saturday. It was pretty quite at ~6 PM. I sat on the first floor, which was a friendly if somewhat plain space. The menu is mostly Tex Mex and American, with dishes like tacos and burritos but also burgers and salmon. To drink, we had beer: Right Proper Raised by Wolves ($8) and Modelo ($7). Then we had the Quesabirria Tacos which had two large birria tacos with consomme ($18). And the Chicken Al Pipian, which was two pieces of fried chicken with pipian rojo, spinach, and rice. Pipian sauce was new to me -- it's a Mexican sauce made with pumpkin seeds and dried red chilies. Both entrees were solid. The pipian sauce wasn't spicy, but had a nice, slightly spiced, savory flavor. The rice reminded me of butter rice when I was a kid, which I liked. The fry on the chicken was very good, although the chicken itself could have used some more flavor, either from a brine or from some spices in the fry. The tacos were pretty standard -- beef, melted cheese, a little bit of burnt cheese flavor, and broth. Service was friendly and timely. Again, pretty good but also pretty average.

I normally come for brunch. The service is always a 5/5. They offer bottomless espresso martinis, rum punches, and mimosas. The food is good and there's ample street parking. There's a rooftop. The happy hour is pretty good as well

We arrived around 2:45 p.m., so it was nice and quiet with plenty of seating. By the time we left around 4:45, the crowd had definitely started rolling in, so if you're looking for a more relaxed vibe, earlier is the move. Since we'd just eaten, we kept it simple with a few rounds of cocktails and an order of chips and guacamole. The guac was fresh, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. It tasted like it had just been made, and the chips were the perfect vehicle for it. Now let's talk about these drinks! First, I ordered an espresso martini, and shout out to Lucha Rosa for already making it with tequila because that's exactly how I like mine. No special requests needed! I also tried the Lucha Rosa Margarita, and whew...it was SO bomb. It was as pretty as it was delicious, which is always a win. The service was great from start to finish. There wasn't a hostess at the stand when we walked in, so we grabbed seats at the bar. She greeted us shortly after, and our bartender was friendly, attentive, and happy to answer our questions about the cocktail menu. His recommendations did not disappoint. Pricing felt comparable to other rooftop bars in the area, maybe just a touch higher, but nothing unexpected for the location and atmosphere. Speaking of atmosphere...the rooftop is gorgeous. The indoor and outdoor spaces are both beautifully designed. It was blazing hot and sunny during our visit, so we happily stayed inside enjoying the air conditioning, but I'd love to come back on a cooler evening to enjoy the outdoor space. Lucha Rosa is definitely worth adding to your happy hour or rooftop rotation. Great cocktails, fresh guac, friendly service, and a beautiful space? That's a solid combo.

I got the Lucha Rosa signature drink and then a Paloma. Both were great, they were strong but the taste of alcohol wasn't unbearable at all. That's the mix I like. Chowder came out pretty much right on top of my salad, but no big deal. Chowder was decent taste, but only found one clam. Ok whatever. Salad came out looking like a side salad on a large plate with five slices of rare, tough steak. It was so rare, that it was extremely hard to cut through, but again, who was I going to talk to about it. No wait staff would even look my way. I couldn't even get a refill on my water and there is no place in the app to order a glass of water...so that's that. Unfortunately it was just an extremely bad experience for $40. But maybe that's better for them too. You can order to-go at the window and/or request a spot in the limited spaced dining/bar area. I've only gotten the Sub Club the few times I've gone here but what can I say? its a fail proof staple that is hard to get wrong and that they do very right. I often pair it with one of their drinks, this time being the spicy ginger ale which was solid as well. There's really not much place to dine-in if you're trying to dine and go - I recommend only using the dining area if you're solo, a couple, or part of a small group (at MOST maybe - a hard maybe - on 4 people) and only if you want to use the bar. One couple tried to squeeze in a baby stroller into the bar/dining area. Its really not suitable for things like suitcases or strollers so if you're in that camp maybe try some other spots because that also made a tiny space all the more difficult to navigate. Also, if you have a mobility device, this might not be the best spot for you either. I've never used their restrooms before so can't comment on that one. I still will say it is good for when you want to grab and go - so if you're in that category, and you like moderately priced sandwiches (for this part of town) this might work for you.
