Loved this deli! We ate here almost everyday of our week long vacation! Especially loved the chicken pesto!

Right off the bat, top favorite here was the Lilikoi Pudding. I would eat this with every meal if I had the chance, this was so good. It was a great mix of subtle, sweet, and then tart with the lilikoi. My boyfriend got the Porkie - absolutely delicious as well. Huge portions overall, too. I got the shiitake beef melt, it was OK, but nothing out of this world. The Porkie was for sure the best of our meals. It wasn't busy when we went, but it was after the lunch rush, so I think we got lucky. It still took a good 10 minutes to get our food, then we walked the short distance across the street to eat by the beach. Get the Lilikoi Pudding, you won't be disappointed! read more

We grabbed lunch to go after reading the reviews. We ordered a Turkey, Lettuce, Tomato, Sprouts, Avocado, Cheddar, Cranberry Aioli which was delicious and large enough to share. We also ordered an Uncle Chad Salad which had mixed Greens, Goat Cheese, Apple, Candied Pecans, Cucumber, Curry Apple Vinaigrette. So yummy. I couldn't eat all of it, so I shared. Oh my gosh, so good. Ordered sandwiches to go for our first beach day. My daughter and I got a "rippie" and my son and dad got a chicken salad sandwich to share. Plus pasta salad (yum) and broccoli salad (they loved). Small storefront, big flavor! Long story short we ordered: Shiitake Beef Melt Sandwich- the roll was soft, the mushrooms were juicy, the roast beef was beefy, the garlic aioli had a good garlicky and creamy kick, and the swiss queso was gloriously melted. We ordered so much food, we ended up eating the other half of it 2 days later and it was still bomb. Porkie Panini- the Hawaiian pork had a sweet tang that matched perfectly with the creamy, sweet chili dipping sauce on the side. The swirls on the rye bread made this sammy super aesthetic. Took this to-go and waited 10-15 min to eat it, and the bread got a little soggy. Best way to enjoy this is right away! Gourmet Hot dog with cream cheese, relish, sriracha, pepperoncinis- My weakness is cream cheese, so of course I had to try this. The acidity of the pepperoncinis cut into the richness from the cream cheese nicely and the hot dog was big n juicy. Salty, spicy, rich, sour... yum! Lastly... got an Oreo dessert. I was expecting more of a pudding texture but it was mousse instead. A little too sweet for my liking. I've been coming to 808 for a few yours. My visit today was very disappointing. I ordered the Ruben kimchi panini; it was burnt and no flavor. Much to my surprise they actually brought this to my table seeing that it was charcoal mess. It was so obvious this was burnt, and unacceptable, why did they even bring it to my table. I also could not help but notice that fewer people were at this sandwich shop. It use to have a crowd. This should have been a red flag to me. read more

This place has some tasty sandwiches. We decided to get out a little early for a beach day today so we wanted to grab some sandwiches to bring with us. We got here right at 8:50 and there was already a line. Theres a decent sized parking lot and street parking btw. Prices are very generous too. I was actually surprised because everyone seems to cry about prices and these seemed like prices close to what I expect at home. Today I ordered the Toasted Wasabi and the Potato Mac Salad and was thoroughly impressed. The Potato Mac Salad was pretty tasty. A little bit more mustardy then most of the ones I've tasted this week which is always a good thing in my book(Sorry Kelly). I didn't taste as much Mac though. I feel like it was more potato but that's not a bad thing either. The sandwich was smackin. The Roast Beef was thinly sliced and the tomatoes were fresh. I also liked the presentation even though we got it to go. The cheese was melted over the tomatoes with both facing a tad out of the sandwich. With the onions and Wasabi Aioli the whole sandwich came together. It isn't particularly spicy as people might think. In all honesty I didn't really taste spicy to me. It was like if I took Wasabi from a sushi place and put it on my sandwich but I just got the flavor and none of the kick. Saw this place all over yelp, so had to give it a try especially since we stayed in Kihei. Got it to go to enjoy on my flight back home. I called in my order and it was ready by the time I got there. For $13 a sandwich, it is definitely worth it. The porkie was delicious and the rye bread was toasted perfectly. I wish I ate it fresh, im sure it would've been much better, but I got to enjoy this amazing sandwich on my long flight home. Next time I go to Maui I'm definitely coming back! read more

So good! We had the spicy Reuben sandwich and the spicy chicken. Both were delicious. We had sides of the spicy pasta and Italian pasta and both were yummy! The spicy Reuben was pretty spicy. I mean wow! I'm a foodie and did my research about food in maui, specifically also Kihei as I am staying here. This place really hit the spot, the spicy tuna sandwich is amazing. The bread seems it was rolled out to make it thin and then grilled paninini style and it is so good. The crisp and thin bread paired with the spicy tuna with cherry peppers is so good. The first thing I actually took a bite of was the spicy pasta salad and wow!! It's also amazing and I couldn't stop eating it before digging into the sandwich. Don't waste your time with the chicken salad. Got it in a hoagie. The bread is dry and flavorless and the amount of chicken salad they put in is minimal and again with no unique flavor. Super bland sandwich they probably could serve in a nursing home. Also got a porky. Much better choice. Good flavor and texture. This jumped it to two star for me. This was unfortunate as it appeared to be a lib cal favorite. Jersy mikes is 10 times better then my experience. read more

(Portuguese Sausage, Swiss Cheese, Shiitake Mushrooms, Scrambled Eggs, Garlic Aioli, on Grilled White Bread) and Breakfast BLT (Pork Belly, Scrambled Eggs, Tomato, Arugula, Spicy Mayo on Grilled White Bread). THE PORKIE. Holy moly. I've heard about it, read about it, finally decided to pop-in and try it for myself a few weeks ago and this panini sandwich is bomb.com ya'll! Pulled pork, mango salsa, sweet chili dipping sauce w/ pepper jack on rye bread. The dipping sauce just pairs so perfectly with all the fillings and takes it up another notch. It packs a bit of heat and slowly creeps up on you, but is not overwhelming (I am a pansy when it comes to spicy food). Highly, highly recommend it! The shop is located across of Kamaole 2, by Moose McGillyCuddy and has tight, but ample parking. On the menu you'll find salads, sandwiches, paninis, gourmet hot dogs, breakfast items, "world famous pudding," & a small keiki menu with your typical grilled cheese, PB&J fair. They also have menus available in Korean as well. Prices are reasonable at everything $11 and under and we found that the sandwiches were very filling. Great part is they have gluten free bread available as well. Perfect spot to grab a snack for the beach! Masks are required and although the deli is small, they do have a seating area inside and seats (no tables) right outside their doors. Came here on a Sunday afternoon and it was fairly busy. Parking can be tight in the parking lot. I ordered the bagel and lox and chicken pesto panini. The bagel and lox was so delicious and everything I was hoping for. The chicken pesto panini sounded good, but actually eating it, I realized that I didn't like the sun dried tomatoes and pine nuts in the panini. Pretty good sandwiches but was very surprised how small they were especially considering the price. But I suppose everything is expensive these days. We got the Toasted Italian and the Belly Dancer (pork belly burnt ends). The pork sandwich was the winner between the two but just so small. We rate places whether we would go back or not. This place is a gem in kihei. Sandwiches, salads, hot dogs, pasta salad, pickles, snacks, etc. These guys hustle and keep their food delicious and consistent. Even during the whole COVID shut down, they kept that line going out the door. The bonus to no tourists was an open parking lot, but it's good to see that getting filled up again. Yummy food, great prices, staff that is fast and friendly, this is a must try lunch spot. Is it bad that I eat here like 3 times a week? I hope they stay around for a looooong time. We came to 808 Deli for a late lunch on the beach. We wanted to grab sandwiches to go and we heard great things about 808 Deli. I got the Chicken Salad Sandwich and bf got the Chicken Pesto which is one of the customer favorites. I would rate the Chicken Salad Sandwich 4/5 and the Chicken Pesto a 5/5. The Chicken Salad Sandwich had a good helping of chicken salad but the cranberries were a bit big for my liking. They were the size of the chicken meat! The Chicken Pesto was absolutely delicious. I loved the sun-dried tomatoes they used. It was a great sandwich and I can see why it is a customer favorite. I would recommend checking out 808 Deli if you are heading to the beach and pick one of the customer favorites. Pretty affordable with sandwiches around $12. Doesn't appear I really got any pictures since we visited during a downpour, but were able to score several delicious sandies and some puddings to go! Plus use the restroom down the hall - with the key! - while we waited. Oh, and also chips and stickers. Speaking of stickers, it was fun for the kids and us to look at while we waited for our order. We were looking for lunch, and my wife spotted this place. It's in a mini-mall, so parking is at a premium. Bring your excellent parking skills, or park elsewhere and walk. The sandwich menu is very diverse - if you can't find one you like, you may be too picky. My wife had their Spicy Tuna selection which included jalapeno peppers. I had their Toasted Wasabi Beef - it has just the right amount of Wasabi to make it work. Not so much that you had to grab a drink at every bite, but enough to know it was there and to clean out your sinuses. Tip: They had several pasta salads - for $2 more, you get a GENEROUS scoop of the pasta salad of your choice. Make no mistakes - this pasta salad is no "impasta..." it's REALLY good. Two of us got sandwiches, drinks and the $2 adder for pasta salad, and got out the door for around $36 with tip. Not bad for Maui prices. They have several tables and a bar along a wall to sit at. They have indoor seating with high chairs for your little ones. We will definitely come back if we are ever on the island again. read more
