    Bbq pork chop
    Angelica G.

This was our date night spot back when me and my SO just started dating, they were sooo good, our go to was the special pho, #5 bale combo and #9 bbq slice pork. The reason why I didn't give 5 star it's because pho has been really bland lately, I did had to give it another try because it could be just that one time, but nope ‍ I won't order pho here anymore. But everything else is good service is also fast!

I MISS this place! The food was delicious and the services were great. amazing view and environment as well!!

    Opakapaka and Shrimp plate.

I ordered the lemon chicken sandwich and Opakapaka and Shrimp plate. My wife said she liked her sandwich that I picked for her. However, my fish and shrimp wasn't so great. I have ordered this plate every time I go there and I used to love it but it now seems like the shrimp keeps getting smaller and less garlic flavor. The fish had a "fishy" taste, most likely due to being an older fish. The fish was a little over cooked and portions seemed small and just like the shrimp, lacked flavor.

Got my pho fix while on Maui. It is located in an old Dairy Queen building so all the seating is outdoors. It was a nice night to eat pho outdoors. Food quality was consistent to any Ba-Le on Oahu. The food came out fast and the service was good.

    Garlic Shrimp

Ordered the garlic shrimp and it did not disappoint! Shrimp was juicy, garlicky and packed with flavor. Served over a bed of noodles and green salad. Casual spot worth stopping at if you're in the Wailuku area

number 22 (Rare Steak & Cooked Flank Steak) pho with the rare steak on the side

2.5 stars I had a short amount of time to grab something quick to eat before an appointment. After a long day of eating seafood the day before, I was craving pho but no pho restaurants were open till 11am. My appointment was at 11:30am so that wouldn't work. I searched on Yelp and found Ba-Le Sandwiches. They have good reviews and were open! Ba-Le Sandwiches was easy enough to find and they have ample parking in their private lot. They even have a bunch of clean tables to dine on in the shade. It is windy so account doesn't that with your veggies and napkins. Since I'm on Maui, I wasn't shocked that a bowl of pho is $16. Honestly, I didn't want to pay $16 for a bowl of pho but I was hungry. I ordered their number 22 (Rare Steak & Cooked Flank Steak) pho with the rare steak on the side. I did find it odd that they do no not have Sriracha being a Vietnamese restaurant. The portion size is tiny for the price and a lot of the noodles were stuck to the bottom of the take out container. They were generous with the bean sprouts and basil though. Too bad they didn't have culantro. The broth wasn't piping hot but just warm. Overall, quick meal and one of a few pho options in the area.

Late night lifesaver review…read more Shoutout to The Local Bread Company because they really understood the assignment. I grabbed their bourgeois pizza and it was everything you want in a pizza -- crispy crust, loaded toppings, and the kind of bite that makes you pause for a second like "yeah... this was the right decision." But honestly, they deserve their flowers for something else too... they saved me at 2AM once. True story: I DoorDashed a pizza AND a sandwich from Wailuku all the way to Kihei because when the late-night hunger hits, you start making bold life decisions. And when you realize they're basically the only place open from 9PM to 1PM the next day, suddenly it makes perfect sense. Listen... if you've ever ordered food from Wailuku to Kihei at 2 in the morning, just know you're not alone. We're all just doing our best out here. Late night MVP on Maui.

If you're taking it to go, they wrap everything up so nicely for you. If you're eating there they hand walk your order out to you, wrapped nicely for easy eating! I have been wanting to try their pizza so I got the Margherita. Guys...I was blown away at how epic it was. I feel like a Margherita is the true test of a good pizza because you aren't hiding behind a bunch of toppings. It's just purely simple pizza that highlights the quality of your ingredients. The crust was crunchy yet doughy and light on the inside. The sauce and cheese, perfectly balanced. Just Chef's Kiss. Today, my friend tried their special, the hot honey sausage pizza. I didn't try it because I'm allergic to pork, but she said it was awesome! We can't wait to try more of their creations!

Lots of seating, good for groups. You order then sit (I believe) as thats what most people were doing. It included rice, mac salad,1 slice spam, Mochiko Chicken, BBQ Beef, and 2 large pieces of Shrimp Katsu. Mochiko Chicken is light and crispy and the Shrimp Katsu was battered and huge. The BBQ Beef was succulent and juicy however the sauce wasn't overwhelming. Spam is spam. The rice was a tad dry however the mac salad was good. I did not eat any of the other plates however since all were empty, Im assuming it was Ono. Next to the register there is a display case with various desserts. The next day going home, we stopped by to grab some dessert. The Lava Rocks come in a pair at $5.50. Moist, soft and super chocolaty. The chocolate haupia bar was very nice and not overly sweet. The Chantilly brownie was very chocolaty with a hint of Chantilly and nuts only on top. Both bars were a Shareable size. Overall the staff is very helpful and friendly, the restaurant itself, very bright & open and the food was very Ono! Highly recommend.

Since it was Sunday, I decided today was the day. I'm not a big coffee connoisseur because of a health condition I have and caffeine can affect me but I do love coffee (even if it doesn't love me) but I'll usually go with a Tea option or Smoothie. I decided on a simple smoothie so I got the Keiki Smoothie with Banana, Strawberry and Apple Juice. I asked the waitress what sandwich is the most popular and she said the Turkey Pesto Melt and boy did that hit! It really was the BEST sandwich. It was on a crispy, flaky...and might I add...buttery croissant with thick slices of turkey, tomato, creamy pesto aioli and melted provolone! It came with some chips and dill pickle on the side. The only downside was the price-it was about $17 so I'm sure I'll treat myself once in a good while to this. My small smoothie was $8 but refreshing nonetheless. I love the vibes inside with hanging plants and art work throughout. There was someone doing remote work or school in the corner with her sleepy golden retriever next to her, a few locals outside and some visitors inside. The workers are friendly and I saw one clean the outside tables right away after a few parties left. A nice spot to hit up for some nice breakfast, lunch and a coffee with a friend.

The pastele stew was flavorful and tasty and hit the spot as I have been craving pastele stew for a few weeks now. The meat was tender and the olives also paired well with the dish (I don't normally care for the olives). The pastele char siu sausage was unlike anything I had before and I thought was really interesting. It was a bit on the dryer side, but the more I ate, the more I liked it. Just maybe needs more fat to moisten it up. Overall, I enjoyed my lunch and look forward to trying more of their menu items in the future. Do note that parking is quite tight with enough space for maybe 3 small cars up front, but you don't have to wait very long and people are in and out quickly.
