    a variety of breakfast foods

Makana Market opens at 6am and it is such a convenient place to grab a nice quick, breakfast! It is located on the T level of the Fairmont Kea Lani, right across Kō Restaurant. They have Acai bowls, a breakfast platter that includes bacon, scrambled eggs, potatoes, your choice of chicken apple sausage or Portuguese sausage, and a small coffee. Their chia pudding is tasty! Definitely loved the "Kea Lani Acai bowl". They also have a chicken apple sausage croissant sandwich and that was amazing! If you plan on getting breakfast here, get their chicken apple sausage croissant sandwich, you for sure won't regret it. They also have pastries and lattes available. It's also a great place to pick up some last minute gifts, hygienic supplies, and they have a huge selection of alcohol and packaged foods. The workers are all so kind and helpful, and the food comes out pretty quick!

Very friendly, small little cafe... Fresh baked goods daily! All the favorite local stuff. It's a blend of a cafe and convenience shop! Express so and favorite unique coffee drinks.

    Half papaya was wonderful!

Amazing food and prices for a high end resort market. Go here whenever in doubt or pressed for time. Best market I've ever seen at a resort.

Yikes! The prices here are ridiculous. This is a gift shop inside the hotel with the ability make a cup of coffee or reheat food.

You be the judge if you want to eat here... the following is a cut and paste from his private messaged comments to myself and my husband: Spouse: You're response proves my point. I'm not a jerk, you said bring the pizza back and you hanged up, didn't wait to hear that I half ate one slice and my wife another and you don't know were we live or our circumstances. Our server Katie was excellent throughout the evening, chatty but quick, informative and helpful, making sure we had everything we needed and that we were happy. They were short staffed (most restaurants in Lahaina are now) and didn't have a bartender that night, so no cocktails, but luckily one of the mocktails came bottled so hubby enjoyed his Phony Negroni, while I shared a bottle of the Slovenian Giocato Pinot Grigio with honey tones that complimented the meal nicely, and was an unusual addition to their wine menu. What did we eat you ask? Salumi e Formaggi - We chose the Mortadella and Fontina which came with pickled tomatoes and grapes (oh so moreish). The Mortadella with pistachio wasn't as tasty as we expected but the cheese was nutty and excellent, and the little crackers accompanying them had a pleasant aniseed flavour. A smaller size charcuterie plate for 2 for $25 but everything is imported hence the price. Calabrese Piccante Pizza - their pizzas are cooked in a pizza oven right in front of you and they smell heavenly. Crunchy, crisp base, a really fresh tomato sauce (simple but amazing) with a bite to it, and thin layers of Calabrese salami and just a touch of char on the crust. Very tasty Strozzapreti con Kale e Salsiccia - a special of the day, twisted pasta with a rich sauce of cooked kale and pork sausage. Very savoury and a good portion. (Portions are more Italian than American sized here) Acciughe Pizza - another special, and my fave, fresh anchovy pizza with fresh tomato sauce. Every slice had a fillet of anchovy on it and it was delicious! Such a treat to get fresh anchovy on island Tiramisu - served in a glass and decadent, creamy with a hit Affogato with Gelato - vanilla gelato with a strong coffee poured over, a classic, and good strong coffee Vin Santo e biscotti - a sweet dessert wine with 3 small biscotti to dip into it and savor, sweet and crunchy The restaurant is in 3 areas, a patio for outside dining, a downstairs area, and an upstairs. It is a small restaurant and popular so reservations are recommended. Nice restrooms playing jazz, quirky decor, underlit bar, small but eclectic menu, and obviously as a James Beard pick they are world renowned. The owners work hard in their restaurant and rebuilt it after the tragic Lahaina fires and they truly are making magical Italian food, true to the chef's roots. You are not only supporting a local business but also eating some of the best Italian food in the USA too! Our receipt was itemized which is a nice touch if you want to work out a bill or remember what you ordered for a Yelp review :)

Despite having open space, they made us wait until exactly 7:45 PM to be seated. The irony is that their policy charges guests a $15 fee if they are 15 minutes late, yet the restaurant shows absolutely no respect for the guests' time once they arrive. The atmosphere was chaotic and full of loud kids, but the service was the real letdown. Our waiter spent most of his night chatting and sparking long conversations with other tables while completely ignoring us. I had to flag him down just to remind him about a beer I had ordered 10 minutes prior. When it came to ordering, we trusted his recommendations--which was a massive mistake. I paid $45 for an entree that turned out to be exactly eight pieces of ravioli. The portion size was so small it felt like a child's plate, which was especially frustrating because my wife ordered the gnocchi, which was actually cheaper and way more plentiful than my micro-portion. To wrap up the night, we had to wait another 15 minutes just to get the bill while our waiter caught up with his other tables again but I blame the annoying customer he kept entertaining . When he finally brought the card reader over, he shoved the screen in my face where the minimum preset tip option was 20%. I ended up shelling out a $25 tip for someone I literally had to beg for basic service. To top it all off, the birthday dessert we ordered was a massive letdown and cost a ridiculous $20 for something that was very disappointing . Save your money and go somewhere that actually values its customers, serves proper portions, and makes you feel welcome.

**Review 06.29.2026**…read more My sister took me here after picking me up from OGG. She said it was her latest favorite restaurant, so I figured... it had to be decent, right? I definitely went in with high hopes. The interior is really modern and minimal, which I liked. It just felt a little unexpected being tucked into a shopping center. We had dinner reservations and were seated at a corner table by the windows. The staff were friendly throughout the night. My sister ordered a Coke, while I decided to try the Black Cherry Manhattan. Let's just say... it was strong. We shared a few dishes: * Roasted vegetables: I wasn't a fan of the onion purée. It just tasted odd to me, but I still ate it because I needed to get my veggies in. * Steak Tagliata: We ordered it medium, but unfortunately neither of us finished it. The steak was much chewier than we expected. * Smashed Potatoes: Maybe this one's on me, but I took the menu name literally and was expecting crispy smashed potatoes. These were much closer to mashed potatoes. * Bianca Pizza: This ended up being the star of the meal. Nothing mind-blowing, but it was the only dish we actually finished. Overall, I wasn't blown away. The restaurant is beautiful, the service was friendly, but the food just didn't live up to the expectations I had going in. If you decide to give it a try, I'd say go with an open mind, lower your expectations a bit, and expect the unexpected.
