Makana Market opens at 6am and it is such a convenient place to grab a nice quick, breakfast! It is located on the T level of the Fairmont Kea Lani, right across Kō Restaurant. They have Acai bowls, a breakfast platter that includes bacon, scrambled eggs, potatoes, your choice of chicken apple sausage or Portuguese sausage, and a small coffee. Their chia pudding is tasty! Definitely loved the "Kea Lani Acai bowl". They also have a chicken apple sausage croissant sandwich and that was amazing! If you plan on getting breakfast here, get their chicken apple sausage croissant sandwich, you for sure won't regret it. They also have pastries and lattes available. It's also a great place to pick up some last minute gifts, hygienic supplies, and they have a huge selection of alcohol and packaged foods. The workers are all so kind and helpful, and the food comes out pretty quick! read more

Very cute shop with lots of goodies to munch on. We are not big breakfast eaters so this place was a life saver when we stayed a night at the Fairmont. If you don't want to pay $60 for a buffet this is where you go for acai bowls, sammies, and the best chia pudding. They have a breakfast platter that's big enough for two people to share. Staff was sweet and the lilikoi cookies are outrageous! I bought so many that they offered me the recipe. read more

As part of the Fairmont resort, I expected Caffe Ciao to be vastly overpriced with a limited selection of items. I was quite wrong! Caffe Ciao is stocked full of things you might need while staying at the resort. In addition to the usual tourist type stuff (magazines, sunscreen, trinkets, etc), they are like a mini-mart and have a variety of beverages, alcoholic or not, fruit, vegetables, and packaged food, as well as their hot prepared food, gelato bar, and, of course, espresso-based drinks. There is a seating area inside and outside. It's a great place to stop and grab an egg sandwich if you need a little something for breakfast but don't want a huge (and expensive) meal at the restaurants. I was also very pleased to be able to buy a couple lemons and some Perrier for a very reasonable price! read more

This is the Fairmont's general store for quick lunch items, groceries and small gifts. It's nice enough inside although it can sometimes be hard to get an employee's attention due to the circular kiosk in the center of the store where they can't always see. Items aren't cheap but also aren't unreasonable either. There are also some reasonably good souveniors you can take home to family/friends, and a large selection of desserts. It's nothing crazy, but it fills its role in a pinch. I deducted 1 star because some of the staff has a bad attitude. I asked if someone could make me a chicken caesar wrap since all the pre-made ones were out and got a nasty response. They also kicked a guy out for drinking a beer that he had just bought from them; this was because they don't have a liquor license which makes sense, but you can drink pretty much anywhere else on the resort and there was no sign stating this before the poor guy bought it. He was pissed, bewildered, and I do not blame him. Given how friendly and accommodating the rest of the Fairmont staff is, this is truly bizarre. read more

Caffe Ciao was a frequent stop for us during our stay at the Fairmont. I went to Caffe Ciao almost every morning for a specialty coffee drink. The best was the Peanut Butter Latte or the Mud Pie Latte, topped with whipped cream and crushed oreos. The Caffe has a delicious Bagel & Lox platter, which comes with: Salmon, lemon wedges, capers, purple onions, cream cheese and choice of bagel. It is the perfect amount of food for breakfast. They also have breakfast sandwiches, waffles and fresh fruit available. The Caffe has a decent selection of beer, wine and liquor. It isn't the most reasonably priced alcohol I've ever seen, but it is convenient. They also have a selection of fresh made sandwiches and side dishes (such as pasta salad, quiche and mac n cheese), and pastries. The Caffe also has a section for gourmet crackers, artisan cheese and Boar's Head brand deli meats. My family and I tried the brie, proscuitto wrapped around mozzarella, and the different flavors of goat cheese (my favorite was the Garden Herb). The fresh salami was also very good. The Caffe was never too busy and the food was always ready in a timely fashion. All of the restaurants at the Fairmont have high quality food, but the portions are always quite large. Caffe Ciao is a great place to pick out snacks, drinks and smaller meals. read more

Great little grocery/deli/breakfast spot in the Fairmont Kea Lani just inside from the adult pool. The fresh pineapple is a sweet deal (pun intended) where you get a quarter of fresh pineapple in cubes for only $3. Also available is melon, papaya and other fruits. Many salads, wraps and sandwiches including customer made sandwiches are available for purchase to go or to eat at the limited number of in and outdoor tables. There's an ice cream selection, speciality coffees and juices. Breakfast sandwiches are excellent as are the selection of pastries. This was my favorite casual restaurant in the Kea Lani and the prices are extremely reasonable. read more

A convenient place to get a quick deli lunch or breakfast. They have sandwiches, pizza, dessert, and other items. They also sell snacks and souvenirs. There's a nifty service where they pack a picnic basket for you. This is a great option if you're heading on that long trip to Hana and want to picnic at one of the waterfalls or sights. They have a $55 basket and a $50 basket. We opted for the $55 basket which includes 2 sandwiches, 2 salads, 2 liter walers, chips, etc. I believe the other basket has fried chicken. They pack everything in a soft cooler with a few ice packs, utensils, and condiments. I got the Italian sandwich and it was huge - it was enough for 2 people. In another trip, I got the coconut gelato which was delicious. As with anything inside a hotel, the convenience will cost you =P read more

We came here every morning. They had great service and by day 3, they remembered me. We got the coffee and chai, along with a light breakfast. We also had their wraps and their pasta salads. Everything here was easy and not too expensive (especially for Hawaii). If we didn't have time to go to the ABC market, we could pick up sunblock or any toiletry that we would need. read more

We visited Maui and stayed at the Fairmont Kea Lani, so in my exploring adventures I stumbled upon Cafe Caio. As I found everywhere in Maui, the service was extremely pleasant here. I ended up stopping in every morning for a latte, we got free breakfast with our room at the buffet that had coffee as well, but I'm an espresso girl myself. The lattes were delicious, and there are plenty other tea, hot chocolate, and espresso options here for anyone looking to spice up their morning coffee. Their breakfast-to-go options looked great as well, especially if you're looking for something quick and healthy like a smoothie, parfait, or acai bowl. I'm sad I wasn't able to try the bowl! Next time. This is also their convenience store, liquor store, and mini grocery at the hotel so you are able to find many things you may have forgotten or might need to complete your trip! Fresh fruits, beer, wine, liquor, sunscreen, etc. Finally, if you're looking for a treat, their gelato and ice cream looked fabulous as well and they have multiple choices. Definitely recommend this small cafe for fresh deli sandwiches and fresh fruit. Think an expensive version of in-hotel Panera Bread. Would recommend for anyone staying at the Fairmont Kea-Lani. Room service alternative!! We picked up a mushroom sausage pizza and caesar salad here on our last night staying at the fairmont. Both were yummy, especially the pizza. We also picked up some straciatella gelato for dessert. Super yum! This is a great option for take out by the pool or for your room (note - much better than room service or polo lounge!). Our food was ready in 15 minutes. The specialty coffees are also well made...very important for my caffeine addicted hubby! Definitely recommend! read more

Came here for a 'cheap eat' at the Fairmont Hotel. At the time, the only dining choices was here, Ko and Fish Market. The latter were upscale sit-down restaurants. Caffe Ciao has both made food like sandwiches and pizzas as well as pre-made items like cheeses, sausages, wines and drinks. I ordered the 12" $21 Garlic Chicken Pizza from the room. It came out around 15 minutes later and I came around that time to pick it up. It was very delicious! I just wished it opened later instead of closing at 9PM. Stayed at the Fairmont so this was an easy pick for coffe. I'm vegan so I had a soy macchiato which was good and a soy cappuccino that was good. Since I was in Maui during a particularly hot time, I would like to have had a nice, cool place to have my hot coffee. This place had limited seating, and based on the name and description, I expected a nicer atmosphere in which to enjoy my coffee. Not a lot of reasons for a vegan to dine here. We grabbed coffee and breakfast sandwiches most morning before heading to the beach or snorkeling. It's reasonable by Kea Lani standards...but you'll still be paying a premium (i.e., $3.50 for a medium drip coffee). If you aren't staying at the hotel, then don't bother. read more

Decent place to get some relatively cheap food in Fairmont Wailea. There's a wide selection of choices here- sandwiches, salads, bottled drinks, ice cream, pastries, and fresh fruits. We came here for breakfast and got coffee, macadamia nut sticky bun, and a key lime pie. The coffee was really good. It was coconut flavored and tasted really rich. Key lime pie was pretty good, too. It was nice and sour. Didn't like the sticky bun. It wasn't warm nor chewy and sticky. It had the consistency of a grocery store pre packaged pastry. Later we got some dessert after our canoe trip. The macarons were disappointing. It was too crumbly, too sweet, and the filling was too creamy. Overall, this is an expensive but pretty average quality cafe. But compared to everything else in Wailea, you get the most bang for your buck. I'm not impressed with it, but I'm glad it's there. The coffee, though, I recommend. Especially for nice morning walk around the beach. read more

Great little place to stop in and pick up your favorite fruit cup, yogurt, desert, sandwich or salad! They have it all...including local honey and many varieties of jams and jellies.
