I wasn't sure what was going on, but I knew it had to be looked at before It got worse. I contacted Dansen's Auto Repair and described over the phone what I've been experiencing. I go to Dansen's for safety check and oil changes as they always do excellent work and the prices are affordable. They were busy, but let me know it was OK for me to bring my car in and they were going to look at my car once they were done taking care of the automobiles they were working on at the moment. The narrowed it down to my starter, contacted me and ask if I wanted to move forward with replacing the starter. I said yes. They replaced the starter, tested it and contacted me to let me know. that my car was ready to be picked up. They finished it sooner than expected. I was so happy because my car gets me to frequent doctor appointments and physical therapy. I came here a few years ago to get my safety inspection done and before going I called to make sure…read morethey were open and doing inspections. The person on the phone told me as long as I brought my vehicle during the hours posted, I would get my safety inspection done. So I did and had no issues, even came back the year after and no issue. Today, I took one of my vehicles there and the guy in the main office said he didn't have anyone doing inspections today and then was very condescending and decided to educate me on why I should call before hand to make sure they were doing inspections that day. He told me I should go to a different place if I just want to walk-in for a safety inspection. I've been in Hawaii for over a decade and have several vehicles, every safety inspection I've ever done has been on a walk-in basis. I get it, people have bad days, emergencies happen and people have to leave work, ownership can change. It just doesn't sit right with me when one person is saying I don't need to be calling and another is lecturing me on why I didn't call and telling me to go somewhere else.

I came in last time right before their lunch break, and you could tell that they were going quickly to get through all the cars waiting so they could go on break. It does seem a little dangerous when the line of cars goes out of the parking lot and there's a pile up of cars on the side of the main road. This review is for their safety check inspection service. Been coming here the last few years for…read morethis service. Busy mid month and at the end of the month, for obvious reasons. They seem pretty efficient but what annoyed me is that I did not realize is that one line is for re-inspect and the other is for the regular inspection. First time I've encountered two lines. The dude (younger of the two) who came to my window said, "you got your papers for re-inspect?" I said, um re-inspect? Then he tells me, "yeah you're in the wrong line." And just walked away. Mind you, I'm parked in the middle of the long line and had to get out of line and turn around in a tight spot. Ugh. Then I could only assume that the other line was for regular inspections. But there is no sign to indicate what the lines are for. Pretty rude on his part too. I get that they're busy but a little customer service goes a long way. Remember, we're patrons of your business.
