It's taken me 2+ years to write a review about this place due to fear backlash and honestly a little ptsd that I've dealt with because of my last visit at 808 . I had seen one of the main owners for acupuncture treatment for over a year. Always had a decent experience although I always thought he had too many balls in the air aka: juggling too many clients at one time in an attempt to sardine people in for more money. Fast forward almost a year after my first visit.... I had unfortunately been in an accident and fractured my tailbone I went back into establishment after I felt well enough to get a treatment. I told ( owner) guy that lying on my stomach would be painful for me , he convinced me to get the treatment on my back BUT will keep an eye on me and I am to hit the CALL button in my hand if I feel any pain. Ok great. He leaves the room, 5-6 minutes later I'm feeling some pressure so time to press the call button and get some help out of the position. Nobody comes. Press it 3 more times in a time span of at least 5 more minutes and nobody comes.... I can't get out of this position alone my back is covered in needles. At this point I'm roughing it out and starting to panic. 2 minutes later I hear a female voice asking if I pressed the call button I said YES! She informs me that my guy is working with another client and she will help get me comfortable. Keep in mind this is a dark room and I come to find out ITS THE RECEPTIONIST! She starts taking out the needles from my back! Are you qualified? Who are you? I was in so much pain I didn't know what to do I needed out of that position..... I ask her to TURN ON THE LIGHTS. She tells me the needles are all out and to flip over. Guess what? They weren't all out! I flip over and feel pressure on my neck. Are you kidding me?! I'm crying my eyes out at this point. The guy finally comes in and thanks me for "roughing it out"...... I believe in eastern medicine but this turned me off of it still yo this day. How traumatizing .... I left crying and shaking. I get a follow up call ( which I recorded) a couple days later with piss poor apology and no attempt and rectifying the problem. I should have sued honestly. I just hope going forward this never happens to anyone ever again I still to this day can't receive acupuncture out of fear. So thanks for that. I really wanted to give them a great review but it just wasn't the experience I was hoping for. First off the put my friend and i in the same room. Even though we booked it for the same time we didn't request the same room. I would have overlooked that and still given it a great review if the service had been enjoyable. The girl who gave me my massage was walking in and out during my service and even took a phone call during the service. I'm used to being relaxed enough during a massage to take a little snooze but I just never got into a pure relaxation with her going in and out and answering calls. Decided to try a reiki session first - first timer. Thomas was amazing! He explained exactly what he was doing and what to expect. Next up was my massage. I chose a 90 minute massage with hot stones. We wanted to get a massage when we landed and this place was able to accommodate a massage for 2. We wanted full body deep tissues massages. My husband had a knot in his shoulder and his masseuse was Jessica and he said she was great, she worked out the knot and he felt so much better. I get monthly massages so I'm very familiar with how it goes. My masseuse was Mary and she was just amazing! Her hands are magic. She knew exactly what to do and her pressure was great. If you check in to Yelp you get to do an add on so I opted for the feet exfoliating scrub and my husband got a heated scalp treatment. I definitely recommend this place! read more

The location is easy access. The phone call to make appointment was great and very pleasant. The premise is clean and classy. I didn't wait long and Melanie came to greet me. I had 2 hrs of signature massage. Let me tell you. She's fantastic, amazing and right on all the painful spots. It is nothing like the traditional or Thai or anything I've ever experienced. It is so localized and that's what it was incredibly amazing. Good price point too. Already booked for next week Btw, their menu offers such intriguing services too. My wife and I were on much-needed vacation, staying in Kihei, and a massage was on the list of "to-dos" while we were here. 808 Wellness was just up the street and had good reviews, so we got appointments for massages. Corinne gave me one of the best massages I've had. She found ALL the knots in my back, and used just enough pressure to work them out without being painful. My wife is disabled, and Vera took very good care of my wife too, even offering her a CBD salve for her legs. Everyone was very friendly, and it's a big plus that the building has an elevator to get to the second floor (stairs are a challenge for my wife). We wanted actual massages after all the hiking and activities we had been doing. I left with the best massage I ever had. My other half's experience was a little different with his masseuse. He said he didn't feel that she was able to get all his knots outs But getting back to me....I get massages all the time but this was so amazing because she was not only able to find the knots but she took the time to focus on knots that were probably the cause of other pain I had. We both also got the rekei enhancements and had totally Different experiences. The spa is a wellness center so don't expect the extra amenities that the resorts offer. The only issue I saw was that they didn't provide us with the 10 percent off that is advertised right in their parking lot. read more

My husband and I booked massages the day of when we were on vacation. This was about a month ago - I wish I could remember the name of the person who I spoke with on the phone and who greeted us when we arrived because she was so great! She was tall with short, dark hair. So, I just am not a massage person, and I thought maybe the allure of a vacation massage would change that, but it didn't really. That being said, Kelly did a great job on my Lomi Lomi massage and I'm sure people who are big into massage would have loved it. I also had the gemstone facial add on. That didn't blow my mind, but, again, I think that's more to do with me than anything else. Kelly had a very calm and gentle presence. My husband received his Therapeutic Massage with the Reiki add on from Corrine. When we both met in the lobby after our separate massages he was almost giddy with excitement at how excellent his experience had been. He says she was a magician and that the experience was very relaxing. He says if you are looking for Reiki he cannot recommend Corrine enough. The small lobby of the 808 Wellness Center was very peaceful and well appointed, with calming music playing in the background. I found the room my massage was in to be a bit overly clinical with the text-book like pictures hung on the wall that almost seemed instructional for the areas of the body as it pertained to massage. All in all, even though I have a couple minor critiques, we would both recommend the 88 Wellness Center to anyone looking for a positive massage experience. read more

Easily one of the best massages I've ever had. Thomas was very relaxed and easy going, helping me to get into the mental space where muscles can relax so he can do his thing. His hands and elbows were incredibly strong and focused, intuitively zeroing in on trigger points without spilling over into adjacent tissue. In addition to the entire spa environment being very kind and relaxing, the body work was far from the "cookie cutter" vacation massage, where you feel like your therapist is working off a corporate massage playbook (3 min low back, 4 minutes on neck, etc.). This spa center is a hidden jewel. The entire experience was exceptional. The front office staff could not be more accommodating for me and my sister. We were walk ins but had appointments within 15 minutes. My massage therapist, Melanie, was very knowledgeable about plantar fasciitis which was the reason for my visit. This was extremely appreciated since many are not as skillful as Melanie. Melanie went the extra mile by showing me exercises to do at home. Interesting enough, I have been instructed before about other exercises with little success. It has been three days since I was there and I have seen some improvement. Best massage ever! Kacie came to my condo and set up a table with super clean sheets on the lanai. She washed her hands. Wore a mask as did I, so it was TOTALLY safe. Safer than going to the grocery store. She is VERY strong and adjusted pressure as needed. As a yoga teacher she has total command of the anatomy. The first thing you notice is the calm and welcoming space. It just feels nice there. Sara and Alan are so aloha and really care about bringing wellness to the community. I took a yoga class this weekend with a Yelp group just ahead of the grand opening of their yoga studio down the hall. It's was a class with beginners and experienced yoga practitioners (I'm sorta in between) but it flowed for everyone. Besides acupuncture, massage and yoga they offer a wide range of healing modalities and classes. I think what I appreciated the most was their welcoming and aloha spirit. Too often I get a "healthier than thou" vibe from places that purport to bring healing and that puts me off because I'm not a vegan/yogini/Buddhist/crystal hugging whatever. 808 Wellness is none of that. You can tell when folks walk the talk and genuinely just want to share. I dig all kinds of stuff and know from experience that unusual modalities have much to offer so it's super cool that there is a place near by that I can check stuff out and feel a part of a community without new-agey judgement.
