Although Porto's is right up the street, I still found myself enjoying my visits to 85°C. The pastries taste exactly like what I expect and the service over here was fantastic!!! I even had my share of someone stealing my coffee and why not? It's because it is DELICIOUS! The sea salt coffee (get it sugar free too) was so delicious paired with my pastries. This particular place was an old Woolworth with the Woolworth sign on the entrance. This was a great place to relax and the service was really good.

Smaller 85c set up more as a coffee shop than a bakery. Came in for a quick ice coffee before going to see Angelina Jordan's concert at the Alex Theater. Service was quick and the ice coffee was good as always.

I feel like it's so hard to find the cheesecake bites these days! Stumbled upon this 85 degrees and was so glad to see they had a few!! service friendly! Simple and nice interior.

Brioche 5/5 - this is my go to! So soft even after a couple days. It's sweet but not overpowering sweet. Mango and berry take 4/5- I thought these would have more jam but there isn't much. The bread itself just tastes like the brioche which is still good We came on a Saturday night around 5pm and they still had a good selection of bread. Some other ones I go to, they run out of bread towards the end of the day. There was only one cashier so the line moved kinda slowly. It is a smaller location and not much seats. But they do validate parking.

I love all 85. I've only had one bad experience at an 85. And they fixed it. This location is much like the other ones. Great service, fresh pastries, wide variety and clean restaurants. Parking is bad. Right in the corner of a busy area. I came in for some oolong milk tea. And I loved it. As usual. I really love their prices. Everything is priced fairly and I've had plenty of their pastries and desserts. All good! I spend enough money at 85 to earn points in freebies. So that helps. Not much to say. Just shedding love on this location. I hope my review helps. Keep up the good work guys.

This place has gotten soo bad, the staff are ignorantly busy, and the drinks taste bad just bad! Would love to support the business for the cakes and pastries, but unpleasant staff are making it difficult to return to this location.

I really like this location. I was in another location (Alhambra) earlier and that was a huge disappointment. They didn't carry all the goodies and this one had more than enough. It was also very spacious and had plenty of seats. If you're in the area, be sure to give this place a try.

Something's definitely wrong here!! What happened to proper business attitude and sales skills? Am I totally off, or have they really just never gone to business school or sales training or learned basic politeness, or has Covid created disseminated sociopathy? So I went to pick up some items (6/26, 1:30pm), each one of them nicely wrapped in a clear bags such that there is no contamination by other people. So far so good! But then I went to the cashier. The lady before me with several items elected to go to the restroom before completing her transaction. Can happen - no judgment. But the sales gentleman wasn't so gentle and just elected to ignore me. Not at word, no "I'm sorry I need to take care of this first", or "I can take care of you at the next register", or something along those lines. But simply just ignoring me. I would not appreciate or accept this in my line of work either. PREVIOUS REVIEW Amazing selection of pastries and other sweets/desserts that almost (!) reach the subtleness of European elegance and quality. Most items have to be taken out the display showcase, a few will have to be retrieved by the staff. Combined with a nice coffee, there is not much else to desire.

Hello Marc, Unfortunately, we do not have any dairy free cakes. I do apologize.

Has anyone bought a full size cake of any variety? if so what did you think?

I notice they now have a sign where you can only work on a laptop for an hour (I've worked on a laptop there in the past and stayed for2 but I don't think it was a rule back then). With that said, this is a nice place to grab a light bite and read or chat with a friend while there.

Unfortunately, the experience has been consistently disappointing. Walking into a coffee shop should feel welcoming. Instead, most visits feel cold and uncomfortable. There is rarely a hello, welcome, smile, or thank you from the staff. The overall attitude often feels bothered or uninterested, almost like customers are an inconvenience rather than appreciated guests. The coffee itself is decent at times, inconsistent at others, but customer service is what keeps people coming back. I truly hope the owner and management take this feedback seriously and focus on creating a more welcoming environment. A simple greeting, smile, and positive attitude go a long way. There are many coffee shops people can choose from, and feeling appreciated matters just as much as the product itself. I wanted to support this business, but after many visits and the same experience over and over again, I will be taking my business elsewhere.

Only two people were ahead of us when we walked in but shortly after, the place filled up with the line almost out the door! There was only one worker but she made it work and she was fast! Cute decor and vibes inside. I wanted to try the pistachio bliss that everyone seemed to rave about but since their seasonal menu was out, I went for the toffee nut iced latte. The drinks are a bit on the pricier side, cute cups though! Something about the drink I got was a little off putting. Idk if it was whatever spice they used but I was not crazy about it. I definitely want to come back and try the pistachio at some point though! Getting out of my parking spot was rough. Busy street but also some annoying guy parked in the red zone behind me, basically bumper to bumper and then another girl in front had A LOT of room in front of her and just didn't give me enough room. When we walked in, it was a quaint quiet cafe and had an inviting atmosphere. We didn't get his name, unfortunately, but at the register the very nice gentleman gave us recommendations on what sweet coffees we can try. He recommended the Spanish Latte as a sweet iced coffee and I, myself, love sweetened condensed milk and so we both ordered it. Just as promised it was nice and sweet. Had more of a milkyness to it and not much strong coffee flavor if what you desire is the flavor of the bean. As for food, we ordered the Smoked Salmon Croissant and Turkey Baguette. Both light and not too heavy and delicious. On the side, it came with a nicely portioned side mixed green salad and a very tasty tangy vinaigrette. It was not a long wait at all after we ordered and it was a nice and quiet lunch. The music was not too loud, so we were able to enjoy having a conversation. One thing I appreciated immediately was the parking. There is plenty of street parking, a parking structure directly across the street, and additional parking nearby, so getting there was surprisingly easy. As soon as we walked in, the owner, who was sitting near the entrance, warmly welcomed us. We initially started walking toward the cozy booth section in the back, but were told that area is reserved for dinner service and wasn't open... We weren't the only ones confused, as another guest came in shortly after and tried to sit there as well. That left us deciding between a few café tables downstairs, outdoor seating, or the upstairs loft. We first tried upstairs, but there were only a couple of two-top tables available. One was occupied by guests working on laptops, and the seating felt a little close together. The remaining tables were reserved for larger parties, so we ended up heading back downstairs. One of the available booths faced the restroom, which isn't my favorite, but I simply sat on the opposite side and it worked out just fine. Once we got settled, everything improved. Our server was friendly, attentive, and happy to offer recommendations. I ordered the French baguette turkey sandwich, while we also tried the spicy chicken sandwich, which both the server and the owner highly recommended. The owner even mentioned it's what he personally eats almost every day, and I can see why, it was delicious. We also ordered fries to share along with two hot lattes: a chai tea latte and a mocha. Both coffee drinks were excellent and easily some of the highlights of our meal. The atmosphere is charming and cozy, making it a great place to relax, catch up with friends, or enjoy a coffee date. Before dessert, the owner recommended the mini pancakes and the waffles, with ice cream. They both looked great, but I've had similar desserts at several other cafés recently, so I wanted to try something different. I ordered the brownie with ice cream instead, and I'm so glad I did. It was rich, fresh, and absolutely delicious. One thing the owner emphasized was that they use fresh ingredients without preservatives and focus on quality. After our meal, I believe it. Everything tasted fresh, thoughtfully prepared, and made with care. Our total for two people, including tip, came to about $120. It's a little on the pricier side for a café, but you're also paying for the ambiance, quality ingredients, attentive service, and the overall experience. Overall, we had a very enjoyable visit. My only suggestion would be to make the seating situation a little clearer for first-time guests, since several of us naturally gravitated toward the closed dining section. Other than that, the welcoming hospitality, quality food, excellent coffee, and relaxing atmosphere made this a place I'd happily return to.
