The food was quite tasty- I got the rockabilly and was impressed with the flavor of the citrus chipotle pulled chicken. Interesting flavor combinations and perfectly cooked meat. Wonderful wraps and portion sizes. I had the Boss Hog - a pulled pork burrito, my husband had the vegetarian Yam I Am and our son had the O-Man - a chicken wrap. We had local soda to wash it down and left pleasantly full. They now serve beer and wine; make sure you bring your ID as everyone is carded (new state law). The cashier was a bit chatty, but the food was quickly delivered. The noise level was on the low side. They now have an outside patio for those who want fresh air. A great find in downtown Ellsworth! I recently moved to Maine from Illinois and I am vegetarian. Living on the coast, I've had trouble finding restaurants that serve more than meat and seafood. Honestly, this place makes the best burritos and burrito-related products I've ever had, and Ive lived lots of places. I also love the new location and the free water; that's kind of a big deal when you have a toddler. You get a lot of very high quality food for your price, but certain things (add-ons) are a big pricey. My only possible critique is to expand the menu a pinch, and if nothing more, maybe add a couple more kid friendly options. read more

This place was a great place to grab a quick burrito. Kinda like chipotle but definitely has some cool spins and better service for sure! My husband and I both got burritos, but weren't completely full after. Drinks are kind of pricy. The filling of the burrito was really solid, really excellent for where this place is. But everything else is what brings it down to three stars. I walk up to the counter to order and I ask if chips come with the burrito and the guy looks at me like I was a total and complete idiot and says no they're $1.50 extra, I then ask if salsa comes with the chips and he once again looked at me as if I was from another planet and then pointed out that by chips they meant little bags of potato chips. I want tortilla chips with my burrito its just a perfect pairing, but I guess this is a sandwich place first which I didn't totally realize (though you think that they could even buy a big bag of Tostitos). Also the wrap could use a few seconds on a steamer, that would have really helped a lot. But other than that, solid, average priced for around here. read more

I grew up relatively close to Ellsworth (Orland, then my family moved to Dedham). After high school, I moved to New Haven CT for college. There I experience an array of different foods, especially healthy, quick food from local businesses, that I just did not see in Maine. Sure we have plenty of mom and dad restaurants and other small businesses, but I think there is a void in Maine for healthy, delicious, quick food. In my experience, the only options there appeared to be for food you could grab and take out were McDonalds, Burger King, Wendy's, etc. Until 86 This! 86 This blew my mind. Its exactly the type of business that Maine needs! I have been there multiple times, and have ordered The Mountain Goat each time. It is an exquisitely delicious wrap that I can't stop eating! Not to mention its made with amazingly healthy ingredients! Olives, qiunoa, black bean hummus, feta (although, I had it without feta), and veggies all neatly wrapped in a delicious spinach wrap (you can get a variety of wraps). Another reason I am a huge fan of this restaurant is its wonderful (and vegetarian friendly) menu. 86 This's menu is simple, yet gives you the variety you want. Honestly, even the meat options at 86 This look so healthy and delicious that, if I weren't vegetarian for medical reasons, I'd be aaaaallll on that. Although there are only two pre-made vegetarian options (which in Maine, is actually like a jackpot right there) there is an option to make your own burrito! Really enjoyed this spot. We got there a bit early so we only waited a couple of minutes to order. We both got wraps and I got a side of pickled veggies. Everything was excellent. We sat in the back which was so pleasant on a beautiful day. I got the OMan wrap (barbequed chix with cole slaw) and my husband got the Goat wrap (black bean hummus and vegetables). I'm really surprised at the almost uniformly glowing reviews. Have you people never had good Mexican? Whether authentic or new/re-imagined/hipster, Mexican is not hard to make tasty (see: Chipotle). I've easily found good Mexican in large cities and small towns. Heck, I've done better in my own kitchen and I'm not well-versed in the cuisine. I came twice to make sure the first time wasn't a fluke. Here are the deets: NACHOS: chips not warmed, cheese kind of cold and congealed. Not pleasant. Tostitos salsa from the jar would have been an improvement on their own salsa. I've had better nachos from a convenience store attached to a gas station. Not trying to be mean, just honest! CHILI: decent. BURRITO/WRAP 1: this was a vegetarian wrap. Tomatoes too cold. Greens slightly less than fresh. BURRITO/WRAP 2: again, tomatoes and cheese inside were ice-cold. They need not be warm, as I get they are "fixings", but try taking them out of the fridge to come approximately to room temp before preparing the burrito. Otherwise the shocking temperature difference really detracts from the taste of the burrito. The meat seemed to be quality, so this is a shame. Anyway the cheese flavor was too front and center. I don't think it allowed room for the other burrito flavors, because I don't remember any of them. This is coming from someone who loves cheese. The place has a trendy vibe (e.g., you'll find an eclectic beer selection). Personally, I like the offbeat music they choose (metal, thrash, etc.), but such liberties should only be taken when backed up with solid cuisine and food prep. read more
