Friendly staff and delicious food. We came on a Saturday evening so they did not l have oxtails left but still had a good selection of meats and sides. We got the stewed chicken meal with cabbage and rice and peas and the curry goat with rice and peas and a beef patty. This place is a hidden gem! My husband is the reason I knew about this gem. He was on assignment and went there and took a picture and sent it to me. So of course when I made my way to Augusta, I had to try it! When you walk in, you are instantly greeted by staff and the Jamaican sounds of a DJ. The restaurant is small but spacious so you aren't right on the next table. Now for the food: O--M--G!! Let's just start with the Oxtail pasta...you read it right pasta! The noodles are so moist and saturated with the oxtail gravy. When I say there isn't a dry noddle in your container...I mean that! Let me make sure you know I tried other dishes too and yes I was a repeat customer almost weekly until my last day there. You can't go wrong with the curry chicken, the oxtail plate comes small and large and I got two sides usually cabbage and Mac n cheese when they had it. If you are one that wants a beef patty while you wait, they have you covered. They also have an assortment of various bottles drinks from Coke products to mango drinks and more. If you are in or around Augusta...you HAVE to try this place out! I promise you, you will be glad you did. It's worth every penny!!! Whew!!! I was not expecting this when we walked in here!! I was visiting Augusta GA for my Son's Graduation from his job training for the US Army. I opened Yelp and had him choose a place, this was the winner. He ordered the Oxtail Pasta and his friend ordered Jerk Chicken. I didn't order anything wasn't hungry at the time. The Oxtail Pasta was a substantial amount so I took a little from his plate. OMG! It was so Fresh, we had to wait a few minutes before we could start eating. The pasta was Alfredo style and so flavorful, when I bit into the Oxtails I knew the Cook knew exactly what they were doing. The gravy from the oxtails and the flavors of the Pasta was perfect!! Very welcoming ambiance and by the staff too they were informative about the food, I asked about the spice levels in the dishes. The amount of food was so much you can't finish a large plate, the flavors are delicious. I had a large curry chicken with sweet plantains and roti which tasted delicious and I brought another plate of oxtails and cabbage and macaroni and cheese I think the flavor is good but oxtails could have been cooked longer but overall I give it a 7 out of 10. Absolutely! My friend took me there. It's right in my neighborhood. We ordered, and they told us how long it would be, and we milled around in the two bodegas in the shopping center sipping on ginger beer. The food is some of the best I've had in Augusta. I've been a regular here for some time now. From my first visit to my latest, the food has been excellent. The service has been top notch. I've had the curry chicken, jerk chicken, brown stew chicken, ox tails, rice and peas, cabbage and plantain. Nothing was bad!!! Recently tried one of their drinks - passion fruit which was also delicious. Obviously, I highly recommend. I'm not from the islands so I can't provide that perspective, however, I regularly enjoy food in good restaurants around the country. This is a good one! read more
