Stir Fried Rice Noodle with chicken. Portion was HUGE!
    Stephanie S.

Today was my first time visiting 88 Bao Bao with my daughter--she had her heart set on pork buns, and we were so excited to see them on the menu. We ordered the BBQ pork buns, pork lumpia, and stir fry rice noodles with chicken, and everything was delicious! The pork buns were fresh and super yummy, the lumpia was perfectly crispy, and the noodles were spot on in flavor and texture. The portion size for the noodles was huge--definitely enough for dinner tonight and probably lunch tomorrow too, which is a win in my book! The staff was friendly and welcoming, and one of the highlights was being able to watch the dumplings being made through the clear glass window into the kitchen. It added such a fun touch to the dining experience. We'll definitely be back!

If you need a tasty quick fix and it's dim sum and then sum, 88 Bao Bao is your boy. I toggle between this one on Brentwood or the one in Dublin. Weird for me to say this but the Dublin has bomb Shrimp Fried Rice. Why the difference? I dunno. Whenever I start a low carb diet, I get weak willed the next day and head to 88 Bao. One recommendation, get the Pork Buns. Eat this while listening to 88 Rising channel on YouTube. You so cray cray

88 Bao Bao is the place to go if you like soup dumplings. Their sticky rice is my favorite dish and a must try and a must have. Friendly staff and quick to your attention for anything. The place is well kept, organized and clean. Oh, and the fermented cucumbers are great as well.

5/5! I always come here for their pork xiao long baos! I usually get chicken chow mein and green beans. They have a great air conditioning system and it keeps everything cool inside. The staff are always nice and quick making the food. I love this place!

I gave it 2 stars for the soup dumplings ( ok only) the rest of the times were either cold or too oily. The beef pancake rolls were cold. I watched the cook make the roll through the glass window and saw something I couldn't unsee. The pancakes were not made fresh and he attempted to warm it up but was served semi cold inside. The pork buns pulled out from a frozen bag and placed in the steamer. I am so disappointed that they were not made in house. The vermicelli noodles were tasty but the noodles were broken up and some parts did not have flavor. The shrimps were generous but small. The garlic noodles were so oily we brought it home to remove some of the oil. The pork buns tasted like frozen buns and confirmed by what I saw. Overall, a disappointing view and the bill was close to $100 with tips. I don't have pictures of the bun. I do not think it is ethical to steam frozen buns from a bag that from Ranch 99 and serving it. I believe this is a chain store and only this location does it.

This place is incredible. I can't believe I'm just barely trying it for the first time. My wife and I just had dinner here earlier today and we had an awesome experience. The place is clean and spotless. The table has chili oil, vinegar and a sweet soy sauce. Through the large glass window you can see the chef cooking up chow mein, fried rice and more. A woman is also molding the dumpling and shuimai while another person is cooking up other entree items. It's a great view for everyone to watch. We enjoyed their chili oil won tons; hints of peanut butter and chili oil with an authentic tasting won ton. The numbing sauce is just enough and very faint. We loved their Shanghai style chow mein; it's sweet with a smoky taste too. The shumai pieces are delicious and served in 8. The xiaolongbao is served fresh as well with a nice gingery broth inside. I love soaking these in vinegar! I can't wait to come back again and try more dishes like their popcorn chicken and fried rice! This is by far THE BEST Chinese dim sum and bao spot in the area. It's authentic, everything made fresh from scratch, and the taste of each dish is delicious. I already want to go back!! Coming back soon again!

I took a nice drive out to Brentwood to meet some good friends and I wanted to meet at 88 Bao Bao. Their menu looked really good and their high yelp reviews made it quite appealing. Well, I couldn't find the place even with the help of Waze. It turns out it is two doors to the right of Trader Joe's so hope that will be a helpful tip for you. The interior is smallish and the people are really sweet. The food is A+. We ordered a nice variety of dishes, ALL extraordinary: sautéed green beans, beef roll, pork xiao long bao, popcorn chicken, pan-fried pork buns. I can't imagine the food being any better. Be careful when you bite into the pan-fried pork bun. It has a lot of yummy juice inside and it will squirt you or whoever is sitting next to you! The green beans were cooked perfectly. Everything was super delicious. We loved all the dishes we ordered, and the odd thing is it wasn't busy on this Sunday afternoon. There were a few diners eating inside, but it wasn't crowded as I would have expected. I would eat here regularly if I lived closer. Parking is a breeze. There is a huge parking lot shared with other businesses.

My 1st visit to 88Bao. Food was good but not the greatest. Dimsum's are ok. Pork sui mai are tiny compared to a teahouse. Chow mien, pork pot stickers was good n juicy. Skin a bit thick. BaoBao are ok at restaurant but next day leftovers BaoBao's are hard as a rock if microwaved. Overall i would come back for other pan dishes to try instead of Dimsum.

Wontons in Chili Oil & Chicken Chow Mein are awesome ! Always fast and ready to go quick. The cashiers are always friendly.

Garlic Green Beans: 6.5/10 I am a garlic girly and it did not have enough garlic for my preference.

It was my first time eating at 88 Bao Bao. We dined in before closing and was not rushed at the end of the night. They had great customer service. I will definitely be back and recommend checking it out. Shanghai Style Chowmein: It is a 7/10 but the portions are huge and amazing! Pan Fried Pork Buns: They come in 6 but we were excited and tried it before I got a picture. The beef roll is a 10/10 and the spicy chili wonton is a 9/10. The wonton was packed with meat & flavorful.

We were given menus but there's also a QR code on the table so kinda confusing if we were to order ourselves or not. I was just about to order on my phone when a lady came to take our orders. As always, we ordered too much food but were happy to take home leftovers. For two people, we ordered: -hot & spicy pork xiao long bao (XLB): omg, could be the best XLB we've had! Spice was just right, very soupy, good texture to dumpling -beef XLB: sooo good! Dumplings were made well, and so much soup inside! Good flavor to the beef. Excited to try the other flavors (chicken, regular pork) next time -juicy pan fried pork buns: unique, and verrry good! Lots of soup inside, great flavor! It's like an XLB meets fried bun! And so cute too. A little tricky to eat but would get it again for sure -braised beef noodle soup: loved the texture of the noodles, taste was a little bland, but a nice comforting bowl on a cold day -shrimp & pork siu mai: good. A bit on the small side, but you get 6 of them in one order -steamed bbq pork buns: good, nothing especially standout Decor is minimal, with a partial open kitchen. But the cool thing is the art on the wall-- it's 3D and is different from most Asian restaurant decor Restrooms were fine, nothing fancy, but seemed clean enough Come for the dumplings!!!

Their black bean spare rib with rice noodles isn't bad either but could be a bit more flavorful and seasoned more; most of the time it was bland. There is a great selection of food, and everything was well organized and easy to navigate. The dessert section is pretty typical of most Chinese and Asian buffets, with the usual cakes, cookies, fruit, and pudding options. One area that could use improvement is the self-serve ice cream station. The flavors tend to mix together, and it doesn't look very appealing. A soft-serve machine would be a great addition and would really elevate the dessert experience. The staff working the dining area were attentive and did a good job clearing plates and checking on guests. The front staff, however, could be a bit more customer-service focused. They seemed very focused on moving the line and managing the crowd rather than creating a welcoming first impression. That said, we were seated fairly quickly, even during a busy time. Unfortunately, my most recent experience completely changed my opinion. I ordered a roll for my daughter with no avocado and added cucumber. When we got home, the roll only had crab inside. There was no cucumber at all. I called and simply asked for a refund, but I was told the chef insisted the cucumber was in the roll, so they refused. Instead, they told me to drive back so they could remake it. After driving another 20 minutes back (40 minutes of driving total), the employee inspected the roll herself and immediately saw that there was, in fact, no cucumber. So the issue I reported from the beginning was real. What disappointed me most wasn't the mistake. Mistakes happen. It was being treated like my word wasn't trustworthy after years of supporting this business. Rather than believing a loyal customer or offering a simple refund, I had to waste my time and gas proving that the order was incorrect. It makes me wonder if one roll was really worth losing a long-time customer. Customer service is about how you handle mistakes, and unfortunately this experience left me feeling undervalued. I hope management reconsiders how situations like this are handled in the future.

Reasonably price. Honestly, the pork belly is the star and could be the best I've had in a long time considering I still live and grew up in Oakland. At other chinese bbq spots the skin to me is usually very crunchy and chewy. But Roast Eatery pork belly skin is so light and crispy, that after a few bites the tender meat and fat slowly melts in your mouth making it very enjoyable. The sweet sauce with the pork belly is new to me. it's interesting but i prefer eating it with the ginger scallion because it helps cut the richness from the pork belly. The Haianese Chicken is exceptional. Cooked perfectly to tendernism. Anyone new to chinese bbq and wondering why the chopped chicken bone is still red or pink, that's called myoglobin so don't worry it's already cooked and means that it's perfectly gently poached.
