We decided to check this place out last weekend since the location near our house hasn't opened yet. Ordering is super easy right from the table tablet, and the food came out pretty fast. We ordered two tonkotsu ramens, one wonton ramen, and pork-xiaolong bao. The ramen portions are huge with tons of noodles, one bowl is big enough for two people to share. We could only finish half and took the rest home. The dumplings were good but ordering them with the ramen dish felt a bit redundant. Will have to order another dumpling dish next time around. Overall, the food didn't disappoint. Can't wait for the one near me to open.

Finally dim sum nearby! The restaurant is cozy and clean. It looks like you can dine outside too, but I didn't see any umbrellas to shield the sun. Yet the tables outside are actual dining room tables and chairs so aside from no umbrellas it looked comfortable. The bathroom is clean and easily accessible. After you are seated, then you can order from the tablet at your table. Then when you are done with your meal you go up to pay. The service is good and they give you a water pitcher with ice water too. The bao is freshly made so everything comes out hot and steamy, which is the best part about this place. Some other dim sum places serve room temperature dim sum, which I dislike. Pro tip is to order your dessert when you are ready such as after you eat, because as soon as your order it and they prepare it then the dessert bao will come out. We also got boba brown milk tea and they have a less sweet option which is great. They also have less ice option too. The drink was yummy. The boba flavor was yummy. The only thing was the boba was not as chewy as I liked it. Hopefully that was just an off day. All in all I am so thankful to have handmade dumplings nearby!

We had a great experience at 88 Bao Bao in Manteca. The food was fresh, flavorful, and delicious. The dumplings were especially impressive--they really tasted and looked like they were constructed by hand rather than mass-produced by a machine, which made a big difference in the texture and quality. The noodles were also excellent and packed with flavor. You can tell there's attention being put into the food here. My only suggestion would be more tables and seating. The restaurant is fairly small, and with food this good, I can see it getting crowded quickly. A little more dining space would make the experience even better. Overall, great food and definitely a place I'd come back to. Highly recommended if you're craving dumplings and noodles in Manteca!

Did not know there's a new plaza here in Manteca! Came to try 88 Bao Bao for the first time and was good! Good food made fresh and friendly staffs (mostly). New place but maybe a bit small with seatings limited to 29 Max. Occupancy. Not too thrilled about the guest bathroom being only one stall shared by both genders. Guests (male/female) may need to inconveniently wait awhile taking turn to share the one stall. May be back to try different dishes next time.

There really aren't that many choices outside of Great Wolf Lodge especially passable Chinese food so this place kinda stands out. The food is not terrible but you shouldn't expect great authenticity. The restaurant feels more like they got the food from Costco and then heated up for you. My suggestion is that if you know what good Chinese food is, skip it but if you absolutely must have Chinese food then this place should wet your appetite until you head back to the Bay Area. They are more like Asian fast food place because omg the food came out fast (literally within minutes). Like I said, the food is alright especially if you are not picky and there are enough varieties to please most people. The place is kinda small especially if you have a party bigger than 4. The service is really attentive and you can tell they are not trying to attract just Chinese there so you should feel comfortable. You sit down and order through a pad on the table. Once again, it's ok food and a good alternative to the other fast food places in the area. This is not Panda Express in that you sit down and they serve food to you. The food has a shanghainese flair but I wouldn't call anything authentic. The best way to gauge is to think then as glorified Costco Chinese food.

Almost done going through my drafts lol. Not sure if it's because they are fairly new and don't have the system down yet OR if it's just a lack of common sense here. I placed an order for my table and tell me why the dessert order was the first thing to come out. Like I understand that everything is ordered at the table without a person but when you see a full order of food for a table, naturally you don't bring out dessert first. I learned from this experience and now wait until the end to order dessert on the tablet. As for the food the wrappers of the dumplings seem too thick and a bit undercooked. Maybe they are rushing them out because it's always busy there for done in and to-go orders. The orange and sesame chicken dishes are exactly the same item here only the sesame chicken has sesame seeds on top. That's very misleading to me. Anyways it's not especially crunchy, they should really work on that. As for ambiance there's not much to say. It's basically a fast casual where you order at your table through a tablet. Not an especially nice looking spot but good and clean enough.

chicken less Shanghai chow mein .

check this restaurant app for the first time and was extremely disappointed!! Or the chicken chow mein, and the vegetarian eggrolls! All the food was tasteless, bland, and no flavor. The chicken chow mein was 90% noodles.

This location is slightly different from the Pleasanton location I've been to. The menu is self service (run by a kiosk iPad at the table) and they have Hawaiian drinks they sell as well as beer. The menu is a little less Asian, and I see a lot of customers ordering chow mein. We had the squid (which was fried instead of grilled- would have preferred grilled) with the Thai chili sweet sauce. It was fine 5/5, and I appreciate them offering it since it's hard to come by. Xiao long bao was also juicy and fresh like usual with the usual great meat juices inside. I was pleasantly impressed to see Hispanic workers skillfully creating Bao! 6/5 Fried pork buns were also surprisingly good- maybe better than the Pleasanton location. There's were also pleasantly juicy 7/5 Guava and passion fruit juices $6, both severely unimpressive. Disappointed in the flavor. The chunks of guava did not contribute. 1/5

We ordered our food To Go tonight. This was our 1st time here. A few of our friends had already visited and said that the food was really good. I have to agree. Very fresh dishes that I will list in a minute with some pictures. DISCLAIMER - my pictures may not do the food justice since they are in To Go containers but the food was delicious. The plates that I saw going out to the tables presented the dishes very well. If you are eating in the restaurant - you order from your table on an IPad type of device. So you can order a few things and if you still hungry you can order more dishes. We had the Pork Pot Stickers - nice size and cooked very well. We also ordered the Beef Roll - very tasty! We had the Garlic String Beans again very good balance of flavor. The Shanghai Chicken Noodle Dish was pretty good. I thought it needed a little more flavor (just my opinion) - I added some of their Chili Oil and that gave it a nice bite. We enjoyed all of the dishes and will go back again for sure. FriendlyStaff also!!

Pulled off the road to grab coffee at Dutch Bros but wanted lunch first. Stopped here and was pleasantly surprised. The restaurant was clean and ordering on the kiosk was easy. Everything came out hot and fresh and the variety was decent. Disappointed that I didn't have an extra stomach or o would've tried Tue ramen that also looked good. If I pass by on the next road trip its a high chance I'll stop here again!

We tried a new place in Manteca hoping to get a new place to add to our rotation. This place is pretty good. We ordered the black garlic ramen, dan dan noodles and xiao long bao. Black garlic ramen was worth the money and had a lot of noodles. Dan Dan was ok more chili oil based. The dumplings was amazing. Thin wrapper and really good soup. Now we don't have to drive to the bay to get dumplings.

We went here for the soft opening. We tried their dublin location before so we were excited for this one. We had to get the xiaolongbao and also tried the black and gold molten lava bun and fhe pan fried pork buns. Service was fairly quick although they were busy. Our tablet to order food did turn off and we could not get it to work again but they took our order manually. The place is fairly small with a good look into the kitchen. A lot of people ordering take out. A good place to try if you have not. Go with a few people.

My wife and I stopped in after our jog along the Tidewater Biketrail, making this our lunch pit stop after starting at Lathrop Road. The Char Siu Pork Bánh Mì is an easy 5/5. The baguette was fresh, crispy on the outside, and soft and chewy inside. The char siu pork was tender, juicy, and perfectly caramelized around the edges. Crisp pickled carrots and daikon, plenty of cilantro, and fresh jalapeños brought everything together. It's a well-balanced sandwich with a portion that's just right. The Grilled Chicken Roll'd deserves more attention. The grilled chicken reminded me of a flavorful chicken satay, and the peanut sauce complemented every bite without overpowering the fresh ingredients. If you're looking for a lighter, protein-packed option, this is it. They also offered complimentary strawberry and passion fruit refreshers. They were a little sweeter than my preference, but the flavors were refreshing. Next time, I'd order one at 50% sweetness. The restaurant is clean, inviting, and a welcome escape from the Central Valley heat. Service has always been friendly, and it's the kind of place where both the staff and regulars make you feel welcome. There's also a Tracy location, but I find myself coming back to the Manteca restaurant. It's smaller, more intimate, and has a charm all its own. If you're in the area, I highly recommend stopping by. Great food, great people, and a relaxed atmosphere. I always say, good food brings out the best in people. Decided to eat here before watching a movie at AMC theater right next door on a Friday night…read more I was hoping that their Japanese food would be good but was disappointed by it. Firstly- garlic spicy edamame - felt it was rushed to make. The edamame was firm and not soft and there was no real spice or garlicky taste to it. For it being $9.95 whereas the steam edamame was $5.50, definitely not worth it. 2 stars Baby lobster roll- California topped with lobster pieces and eel sauce was pleasantly good. 5 stars Chicken teriyaki dinner - half the plate was filled with salad and an okay miso dressing. The chicken was just ordinary. I got tired of it quick and couldn't finish it. To me, it wasn't as good as my fav Japanese restaurant on how it's prepared, so for that I give it 3 stars. (Wouldn't order it again) My wife had the salmon teriyaki and she finished the rice but left a lot of salmon on her plate. No grade since I didn't try it. The positive is the staff was really friendly and attentive. 5 stars Now that I've tried Matsu Sushi, I don't think I would eat here if waiting to watch a movie at AMC. They have a great spot being next to the theater but sadly, not impressed with the food that I would want to spend over $100 to eat here (3 people)
