I've had my eye on trying 88 Bao Bao in Vallejo for a long time. My family and I finally went to try them out a few weeks ago and we couldn't have been more pleasantly surprised. Although they're a chain, they did not disappoint and are truly a great addition to the food scene in Vallejo, especially if you're craving dim sum and don't want to cross the bridge. Food was tasty, service was friendly and efficient, and the pricing was more than reasonable. 88 Bao Bao is located in the Gateway Plaza shopping center. There is free parking shared among the businesses with several slots very close to the front. The establishment itself is intimate, but has a few tables for people to dine in, if they choose. We placed a phone order and the time quoted for pickup was accurate. Our order consisted of: - a Beef Roll - Shrimp Dumplings - Shrimp & Pork Shaomai - Wonton in Chili Oil - Chocolate XLB As noted above, quantity and pricing was on point. Flavor and taste of everything we ordered was fantastic. The chocolate xiaolong baos were a great way to round out the meal. Don't skip out on them if you have a little bit of a sweet tooth! 88 Bao Bao made a strong first impression. My family and I will definitely be stopping by again. Looking forward to trying more items off of their menu.

This bao location has so many additional items that I haven't seen at other locations. They now serve ramen and desert bao's!!! It's a small spot for dine in. I wouldn't recommend larger groups. Friendly service and easy table access for ordering. All the food we ordered was fresh and yummy!!! Perfect spot if you want a hangout snack moment !!!

My first thought when this came up on yelp was that it would be another one of those chain fusion Chinese places. I was wrong. 88 Bao Bao makes some of the freshest dim sum I have ever eaten. We ordered two dishes and both were solid. The Beef Roll was my favorite. Loaded with flavor, freshly baked/fried, so delicious. The Har Gow was also tasty a simple combination of shrimp and ginger in a light noodle shell. Friendly service in a fast casual environment. Small place that can get pretty crowded. It's cool that you can browse the menu and order from a touchscreen at the table. We will definitely be back.

I found myself in Vallejo with my daughter and mother,we wanted to have lunch. We were in the mood for some dumplings so decided to give this spot that was new to all of us a shot. We ended up trying a few things,as we ordered family style.Pork Xiao Long Bao,which are basically soup filled dumplings,Chicken Shanghai Chow Mein ,Chicken Egg Fried Rice, and Sautéed Garlic Green Beans. We enjoyed all 4 dishes, but the standouts to me were the soup dumplings, which were very yummy, though do take some technique to eat without causing some spillage.I also quite enjoyed the garlic green beans, perfect texture and super garlicky which I love. Overall this was a solid place with very quick service and tasty food, what more can you ask for?!!

Ordered the Stir Fired Rice Noodles, Shrimp & Pork Shaomai, Leek & Pork steamed dumplings and Wonton in Chili Oil. The Wonton with chili oil has a sharp spicy kick but it's not unbearably spicy. I appreciate the size of each wonton and how much chili oil they use. Big pieces of wontons with good amount of filling. The Shaomais were good sized too and good flavor. The Leek & Pork steamed dumplings were pretty big with good al dente wrapper!eat filling was ok. I think the best of the bunch were the Wontons in chili oil and the Shaomais. The noodles were a little under seasoned. I added in the garlic sauce which improved the flavor. Staff were quick. Food arrived on our table in about 10 minutes. Good pricing especially for the size of each dishes.

Our meal here was okay but for some reason it did not amaze us like their location in Vacaville. The silverware we received was dirty so we used the disposable ones available at the tables. You have the option to order on these tablets at your table which is nice.

The other day, we stopped by to make a pick up order at 88 Bao Bao, which is located in the shopping center near Marshall's off of Admiral Callaghan. We ordered their Won Tons in Chili Oil, Shanghai Style Chow Mein, Orange Chicken, and sesame Balls. Everything is freshly made and in a timely manner. There is a small seating area and they even have windows next to the tables, so you can actually spot them making their dishes. For the most part, dishes are reasonable in price with what they give you although for the sesame balls, they were a bit smaller than expected for the price. Everything was tasty but wish I maybe could try ordering the orange chicken with the sauce on the side as it was too soggy by the time we arrived home. The sauce for the orange chicken was delicious though. The employee that assisted us was friendly as was the person who handed us our order. Would love to come back to try other dishes!

What a delight! We dropped in for a bite on our way home from Sacramento. Kind courteous and helpful staff. Yummy yummy food. Having an ordering screen at the table was super easy. We even ordered some Togo food later! Definitely a yes!

My dad was craving shrimp fried rice so I was searching in a place in Vallejo for take out and thought I'd try 88 baobao's. I called in and it was easy to place an order. I ordered shrimp fried rice, sauteed green beans, popcorn chicken, and a side of cucumbers. My order was ready in 10-15 mins for pick up. Service was quick. This was my first time ordering from this location, I didn't even order any baos sio mai or dumplings but I tried them at other locations. They have indoor seating and the food has huge portions to serve lots of people and last for multiple meals. Located in the Gateway Plaza across from Vallejo Costco, so there's plenty of parking. Located next to Ulta and quickly.

Ordered won ton soup and pot stickers for lunch. Didn't get a pic of pot stickers but they are delicious. Soup and wontons are delicious. The prices seem high to me. These 2 items were $28.00. Really! I like their food but I have to recycle a lot of cans to afford this food. No, I'm not homeless, just a metaphor for working to afford something.

Finally have a chained dumpling place in Vallejo. We love dumpling and we always go to Concord to eat dumpling but now we have a dumpling place in Vallejo. We always order their pan fried pork bun, pork xiao long bun, noodles. Fresh made and delicious. This place is mainly self serve. You order at the counter and you find an empty seats your own. Place is a bit small and sometimes it gets busy.

So where do you go when the craving hits early? Enter Chowking. They open 7AM every day, which makes it fast, convenient, and perfect when you need something to curb that Filipino breakfast craving. Let's be real though -- it's not your lola's kitchen, maybe not even your mom or dad's cooking -- but it's familiar Filipino breakfast staples that get the job done. My husband ordered the tocino and longanisa combo. He didn't complain too much, though he did mention the longanisa could've used a bit more seasoning -- no brutal longanisa burps. The egg comes fried hard, so don't expect any yolky goodness here. The garlic rice had enough garlic to earn the name -- definitely not just plain steamed rice pretending to be something else. I ordered the bangus and received the head side. Nothing particularly standout about it, but I did appreciate that it was boneless. No digging through fish bones or worrying about choking on one -- and honestly, that alone was a win. Was it the best bangus I've had? Not even close. But it checked the box. I do wish there were options for egg preparation, but I understand -- it's fast food and they're built for speed and consistency. For the price and convenience, it's hard to complain. It's quick, familiar comfort food that satisfies the craving without breaking the bank.

The minced pork sauce clung onto them really really well. The minced pork had a nice balance of sweet and savory, although it leaned towards a little sweeter than I personally prefer. But it wasn't a problem at all, since I was able to adjust the flavor to make it more savory by using the Chicken Granules, Cumin, Chili Oil, and White Pepper condiments. Overall, it was a very satisfying dish! We also tried their new shaved ice dessert. It wasn't like the Hawaiian style shaved ice which is based on frozen water, but more like Korean style Bingsoo with a milky shaved ice base. The flavor and texture were both good, but I thought it was missing the toppings. It relied solely on syrup, and I think it would've been much better with fresh fruit or other toppings to add more flavor. It was $5.99 per order as of July 2026.
