Every time I came in, I tried to say hello with a smile, but I was usually met with cold shoulders, blank looks, or no response at all. I've seen mixed reviews from other people, so maybe experiences vary, but from what I personally noticed, customers seem to be treated differently for reasons I can't quite put my finger on. Second, the language used by the staff/owners was uncomfortable. I brought my nephews with me, and there were also other families with kids in the store. The workers or owners didn't seem shy about throwing around curse words, including f-bombs, in front of everyone. I understand this is not a children's store, but if kids and families are present, it really should not be that hard for grown adults to keep it professional for a few minutes. At one point, I exchanged looks with another parent, and we both clearly felt the same way. Lastly, the pricing is disappointing. They do have some rare figures, but many of them are overpriced even when you factor in shipping from online sellers. The loose figures were also poorly packed and still expensive, which makes them hard to justify. Overall, the prices felt pretty close to eBay, sometimes without the convenience or buyer protection that online shopping offers. Maybe this place is worth checking out if you live in the Bay Area and want to avoid shipping, but based on my visits, I don't see a strong reason to come back. Experiences like this are exactly why online stores continue to thrive.

I saw their ad on Instagram, and luckily, their place is just a 10 min drive from my place. I went ahead just to check it out and grab a Pokémon booster box. The prices were good, and their staff was really friendly (They even offered me a free pack of my choice to open). Not many people came here when I visited but probably because it's during a Monday rush hour I guess. There's not much that they seem to sell here but to be fair, they just opened last year. They might expand in a few years if their business is going well. If you're shopping for video games, then this isn't really a right shop since most of the products are cards and other card related products. I don't play card games, but this is really good if people are into this hobby. They also have tabletop gaming where there are several tables and seats probably where visitors can play cards? Not really familiar with how it works but I've been going to other stores like this and there would be groups of people playing cards together in those tables. Yet, not many people when I visited since it's Monday today.

From most card shops I've been to, this would be my least favorite. What threw me off was this box…read moreof bulk on the counter, I had asked one of the workers if I could look through it, he said yes. After 30 minutes of looking through the box, I was about to finalize what I wanted, but then a different worker came up to me and said he was still looking through the cards. Out of consideration, I apologized and told him he could quickly look through the cards I was interested in. He then took about 80% of card from my stack for himself. Honestly, it felt extremely scummy and inconsiderate. Taking advantage of my politeness and leaving me with maybe 7 out of the 30 I had originally wanted. I understand that they'd want to look through the bulk before letting their customers to see, but I was told that I was allowed to look through the bulk?? And on top of that, they don't price the cards in their binders and go by tcgplayer pricing, which makes it difficult to determine what cards are worth buying. And their bulk is extremely disorganized. I had asked if they had any vintage pokemon cards and they told me there might be SOME in the 5 bigass boxes of bulk they had laid out. I had asked if they would ever organize the bulk, but they never gave me a clear answer, leaving me a bit peeved. They take the more valuable and prettier cards for themselves. Go to a different card shop that's better organized and fair.

I've been coming to Angry Goose for over a year now, and they offer a wide range of TCG events…read moreevery week. The store itself is spacious, with plenty of tables and playing areas, which makes it a comfortable place to play, trade, and hang out. I primarily collect Pokémon, One Piece, and My Little Pony. Pokémon and One Piece sealed product can be pretty inconsistent in-store, especially with completely new releases or second-wave drops. I definitely understand that this is due to the high demand and distribution issues, but it can still be a bit of a bummer. When Pokémon or One Piece product is sold at MSRP, there is usually a strict purchase limit and the seal is ripped. Product availability can also vary depending on when shipments arrive. They generally keep customers updated about releases and delays through their Discord and Instagram. They also accept trades for sealed product, and I've occasionally seen older sealed ETBs and other sealed items available. My Little Pony singles and packs are sold in-store, and they carry a wide range of sealed Magic product as well. I'm not very familiar with Magic pricing, so I can't really comment on whether those prices are competitive. There are multiple binders and cases with singles available for purchase. They have Lorcana, Magic, Pokémon, One Piece, and Yu-Gi-Oh! singles in their binders, so there's a decent variety depending on what you're looking for. Bulk is also available, including Pokémon, One Piece, and other TCG bulk. Bulk is 25 cents per card, which is a little more expensive compared to some other places I have bought bulk from. They also sell deck boxes, binders, sleeves, and other TCG-related accessories. Snacks and drinks are available for customers as well, which is a nice convenience when you're spending several hours at the store for an event. There is a bathroom available for customers. One of the things I really like is their vendor events, which happen twice a month. These give customers an opportunity to meet, purchase from, and trade with different vendors. Most vendors carry a variety of Pokémon, One Piece, Riftbound, and Magic products. The vendors also change, and vending spots are first-come, first-served, which I think is a fair way to handle it. Best of all, the event is free, which is great for the local community. Discord is their main form of communication, with Instagram also being used regularly. Their updates are generally consistent and come primarily from Manny, one of the co-owners. The Discord community is pretty active, and questions are usually answered quickly by Manny, other employees, regular customers, or players. As far as buying, trading, or selling goes, I believe they only do those transactions on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays rather than during the week. The percentages they offer are listed in the store. From my understanding, the cash/store-credit rates are around 60% although I would recommend checking and calling the current rates in-store since these can change. Overall, the staff have always been pretty chill, knowledgeable, and patient in my experience. Some of the employees also participate in the weekly TCG events, which helps give the store a welcoming community feel. Parking is usually pretty easy, unless there is a large TCG event, vendor night, or a new product drop. There are five other businesses in the shopping center, so parking can fill up during busier times. The other businesses include a dentist, haircut shop, shoe shop, nail shop, and coffee shop, so it's worth keeping that in mind when visiting during a busy event.

Finding the entrance was kind of confusing but once you realize where you are in the building, return visits are easy. I came in looking for Chaos Rising boosters and the staff working was incredibly nice, professional, and knowledgeable. Even though I was there for Chaos Rising, I couldn't help myself to browsing through what they had. The options in sets were better than some other local card shops I've seen and either at or slightly below market. I am glad I took the drive to check this place out. Definitely coming back!

Everyone there is dope. - Great place to look for singles you need, but also to sell any of your own as well. They bought my cards at around or even market value, and provided either store credit or cash for me to choose from. If you are looking to sell your cards you should come here. I think their prices are the best compared to other local card shops around the area.

Whether is a pre-release, weekly locals, or tournaments, Gurpy will hook it up and make sure that you have a great time. I tell everyone that you'll be spoiled silly at times and the energy Gurpy brings is definitely infectious. Good vibes all around. I have not attended but I know there are opening parties for Pokemon and trade nights as well. One Piece, Lorcana, Pokemon, Digimon, Riftbound, and more continue to build and grow this community. The place overall play space and walking space is pretty spacious and clean. Parking can be a bit rough at times during big events overlapping but this is a player's store for sure where you'll get some good deals from here and there but more importantly have fun while participating.

Parking can be tricky; it's just along the street, so just park further away down the block or around the corner and walk the short distance. Not the best location other than the visibility. There are designated areas to break and record it, which is a nice touch. The store does a good job of that, catering to content creation. It really feels like the direction of the hobby is headed even more in that direction - more emphasis on live breaks and/or recorded content. A lot of graded singles (basically, all PSA from what I browsed through and recall), which isn't really my thing. I will say there's limited boxed products, especially for me who prefers different choices (my personal preference). Prices are a tad high, but that's also the nature of the industry nowadays with Topps too. In general, the store presents a great atmosphere, helpful staff, an up-to-date approach towards content creation and graded cards, but not a ton of variety. I will say there are a lot of different products out there...but yeah, not a real deep selection of choices.
