Came in on Memorial Day for a spa pedicure, figured a nice way to start the week. Advised the technician that I was dealing with some ingrown nail issues, which she acknowledged. All was going well, until she was working on my calluses. One foot went ok but on the 2nd foot, she started to scrub on a non-callused part of my foot. She didn't realize it until I had to stop her, but she broke the skin and it was starting to bleed. Disappointed. Cindy is my #hairbestie for liiiiiiiiiife! I moved to the Seattle area back in July from the SF Bay Area. Back home, I had a girl I always went to for my hair color and because I am very particular about my hair it took me months and months to find someone here. I searched Yelp, Google, Instagram, etc....Back in October I went to a girl at Sola Salons. She had good technique, friendly personality, but unfortunately she was super expensive and was unable to achieve the Metallic Grey tone that I wanted. Then in December, when I went back home for the Holidays I went to my usual girl and while I still adore her and her work, we were still unable to achieve that Metallic Grey. Moreover, my color faded within a week back to yellow-blonde :( This was probably my fault since I didn't use purple shampoo...Anyway... One day I was browsing Instagram and searched the tag #SeattleBalayage. I saw many many posts and came across this beautiful Pearl color inspired by Guy Tang (The HAIR GOD). So I clicked through her profile and looked through hundreds more of her hair posts, went on her YouTube channel to see her technique. You can say that I am quite thorough with my research because like I said, I AM VERY VERY PARTICULAR. So I emailed Cindy, hoping and praying she was still accepting new clients. The Hair Gods answered my prayers because luckily she was! We exchanged several emails discussing the current state of my hair, showing her a few examples of what I wanted, getting her thoughts about it, then finally I booked an appointment for February 12th. As discussed in my email consultation, we going to try to achieve the Metallic Grey tone I've been obsessing over for the past few months via foil highlights and color melting. Cindy and I talked about all things hair while she skillfully did her thaaang. After she rinsed it out and began to blowdry, both of us kinda went "Yikes" to how the color turned out. While that beautiful Metallic Grey looked fantastic on all the Pinterest and Instagram girls, it made me look dead :( :( Cindy being the amaaaaazing stylist that she is said she didn't want me to leave unhappy and we agreed that the color I originally selected didn't suit my skin tone, so she recommended we try something different...Pink/Silver tones with hints of Violet. It sounded beautiful but waaaaay out of my norm. But because I trusted her expertise, we went for it. The result....a beautiful Metallic Rosé color melt. I've received so many compliments from friends, family, strangers walking down the street on my beautiful hair. And you best believe I told them who did it, my hair bestie Cindy! This place is definitely more expensive than other salons. I've been here off and on when this place first opened as a small salon 8-9 years ago under a different name ( --- du Soleil). It was sold to the current owners and I moved away. I recently moved back to the area and found that they are the only place that will give me a gel (no acrylic) set/fill. The salon is huge! They told over the old check cashing place next door and now have a coffee shop. I haven't really looked at the hair salon side, but the nail side is extensive. There are 8 pedicure chairs and 6 nail stations. As I write this at 9:20am on a Saturday, there are 4 people getting pedicures (including me) and two getting their nails done. Interesting, to me anyway, is that the hairdressers are all white and the nail techs are all Asian. Super nice though. The front desk staff are friendly as well. I'm always offered a drink (water, coffee, mimosa!) when I come in. And they get me in and out quickly. The place is a little pricey, but I recommend overall. read more

I even told Her it was to short and she said it's fine when she styles it it will be longer. Once she was done she said in a month or two your hair will grow so it will be longer. I won't be going back. I scheduled an appointment for my daughter's back to school haircut. It was a disaster. My daughter has thick curly hair and when I walked in I could tell she was on the verge of tears. The lady tried to brush out her curls without washing it and using conditioner so that she can straighten it. I told her to stop and she insisted on not washing it. Instead she dry cut it. Not even in layers!!! She didn't even put leave in conditioner until the end when her co-worker gave her a bottle. This lady looked so lost in her job. I've only been here once so far but it was really nice! Both my sister in law and I got the deluxe pedicure. The pedicure chairs are massage chairs and they offer a complimentary beverage! My nail tech did not hurt me, and she was very sweet. I think her name was Elle? I'm not sure but I will correct this when I go again. LASHES FELL OUT LESS THAT 16 HOURS AFTER LEAVING THE SALON! Booked an appointment for my 17-year-old niece to get her lashes done with Kaila at 8th Day Spa. The appointment was intentionally set 3 days before a special occasion my niece was to attend over the weekend. Within 16 HOURS after she left the salon, 90% of the lashes fell out. My niece has had her lashes done successfully many many times over the past couple of years at other salons, but this is her first experience with 8th Day and Kaila...... it was a disaster. It took a SECOND call to the Salon Manager before they made any attempt to rectify the situation by suggesting I bring her back for another appointment to 'filled in' the lashes that fell out. At this point, we were running short on time....and honestly, the workmanship was so bad I had no confidence in their ability to get it right the second time. They offered no refund, not even a partial refund, so I told them they could keep our money. We decided to take the loss and quickly moved on to seek out a professional at another salon the following day.....and the quality of work by comparison was highly noticeable and we were so please with the results! The cost for this service is not cheap and the time sitting in the chair is long and tedious, but the results can be amazing when performed by a well-trained professional. She put a thin layer of powder on my nails and not a week later my nails where popping off!!! I went back to get them fixed and not 2 days later another nail was starting to pop off from the bottom. I went to get my nails filled somewhere else and they took the nail off that was popping off and it had grown a nail fungus. They said it's from my nail getting water under neath the nail that was popping off. I've been getting my nails done for over 20 years and NEVER has this problem before!!!
