We went to 9Face Sushi today. We ordered the Tom kar soup, ginger salad, and the soulmate roll. Everything was delicious! The salad had the right amount of ginger dressing. I find that most restaurants have the salad swimming in dressing and I don't like that. The soup was super good. I love the coconut and lemongrass flavor. The roll we picked was the soulmate. The menu has the usual piece by piece offerings and meal selections similar to so many others without anything to it that would set it apart, make it imaginative or impressive. The food, overall is good, but basic and rather typical of what is also a take out place. The service is good and the prices are reasonable but again without anything that struck me as imaginative, unique or inventive. Though the street front is presently under construction rendering it somewhat of a burden to access, it is obviously meant to cater to the Pompano Beach going crowd, but since they are not open during the certain noonday hours one would think that they'd be missing the boat on that crowd. read more

We have been going to this restaurant for 2+ years and mostly had good experiences in past....Tonight I ordered a Lobster Sushi roll...I pointed out the lobster did not taste fresh and had a greyish tinge vs it's normal white I have been used to...the waitress at first asked if I wanted something else but later took it back to chef/owner and later came out & said because I ate a couple pieces I had to pay for the whole dish..She also added the chef said the food is good and essentially challenged the fact that I said it wasn't fresh which really put a notch in my belt...My wife also mentioned when we ask for utensils or extra napkins it takes seemingly 20 minutes and they hand you just 2 napkins like operating on a tight budget...Not planning to Return to this restaurant which is sad because until tonight I always thought I was a special customer...tonight I figured out the almighty dollar rules even if bad food is being forced upon me...if they had a different attitude, things could have been different ... read more

Went here for the first time on 4th of July and was so upset I hadn't been here sooner! We ordered the steamed shrimp dumplings and sushi pizza which is a must have. It's kind of small inside but they also have outdoor seating, it was pretty busy on the 4th because everyone was trying to be on the beach to watch the fireworks but our group of 6 were seated immediately which was surprising. After being in Pompano for over 10 years, we had never tried this local sushi place on the beach, wow what have we been missing! Due to current dining restrictions we chose to get a to go order. Wanting to try a variety of the offerings we got the following, Naked Hamachi Roll, Luck 13 Roll, Red Face Roll, Monster Roll, Spicy Yellow Stone Roll. All were incredibly fresh, prepared with nice precision from the chefs. It only took 30 minutes for the order, picked it up and plated it at home for the picture with our favorite Chardonnay El Enemigo from the Catena family in Argentina. The blue crab on the Monster was amazing along with the other selections. This is the best sushi place in the area and not to be missed! read more

This restaurant treats its customers like garbage. Allow me to explain. We (a party of nine; two families with four adults and five very young children) came here for dinner tonight. It started out innocent enough. We placed an order after having to wait some time to receive menus and soon received our drinks and appetizers. Thereafter, the food arrived in fits and starts, with the sushi taking much, much longer than everything else. One family received its sushi and was finished its meal before the other family's food had all arrived. Making matters worse, by the time most had finished with their meals, one person had still not received any of her food. And this was an hour or so since we ordered. In my experience, a restaurant will typically apologize or offer to compensate its customers in some fashion when this occurs. Not here. Instead, after waiting and waiting some more, we asked when it would arrive and whether they would comp the meal. Not only did they unapologetically refuse, but they became hostile and threatened to call the police when we became upset at their reaction. The food was OK, but the service was hands down the worst I have ever experienced. I'd recommend you stay far away from here. read more

My favorite sushi spot in the country. I have spots in NYC/Charlotte, NC/Wilmington, NC/Boston, MA and none of them come close to 9 Face. When I'm home I try and eat there once a week. It's a family owned and operated restaurant. Everyone is extremely friendly and the owner is one of the best people in Broward County. He should run for mayor because everyone walks in there and happy to see him and his family. As for the Sushi. It's excellent! He makes his own hot sauce and the menu is very diverse. You really get amazing portions for the price. I really don't want to recommend his restaurant because I don't want it to get too packed. I know it's selfish! read more

It took about 15 minutes for a waitress to even come over. We ordered a soup, ginger salad, crab Rangoon, oceans 9 app & 2 rolls. The crab Rangoon came out before We even got our drinks. 20 min later I asked another waitress if we could get our soup & salad. Another 30 min later I ordered a fried appetizer just to get something to eat. After being there over an hour and 2 tables getting served and were paying their tab we asked if sushi rolls took an hour and a half?? We finally got the 2 rolls and when I asked for the check they asked if we still wanted our appetizer. The sushi was fresh and delicious. But the wait staff was horrible. read more
