I've only visited once , but this place makes me so so happy . It is a open space for food trucks and events and an indoor canteen area for drinks and events . People are nice and friendly and it's is the perfect example of a"third space" for people to mingle and visit . One thing though , the parking situation is a bit precarious , maybe plan for that

Great place for larger events and groups. They host game nights, movie nights, trivia nights, concerts and so much more. Pet friendly. I've had a nice ti time each time I've gone. Great for all ages and family events. Their instagram is always up to date with current and upcoming events. Large parking lot and restrooms available. Do try. Recommended.

Lots of sunshine and plenty of space to spread out

A group of about 15 of us went to 9 Mile to celebrate a birthday on a Sunday, and we were very pleased with the overall experience. We had plenty of room to spread out & the kids had plenty of space to run around. Unfortunately, only 1 food truck was available to order from and they left around 5pm, so I would recommend calling up before you go to make sure they have plenty of food options. The spicy margaritas here are amazing. I am usually hesitant about drinks on tap, but I took a shot with this one and I will say that it is probably one of my favorite spicy margs in the city. Strong too! The service was great! And the song bingo was really fun. We will definitely be back.

There is something always going on at 9 Mile Garden. Follow them on a their Facebook page for all their events. I last visited in a Sunday afternoon. Farmers Market and a band playing outside. Bingo going on in the canteen. Always a fun vibe and attracts some of the best local food trucks. Beer is a little pricey but they always have an extensive fun selection on draft in the canteen. Fun vibe and friendly service. Always own of my favorite places to meet a friend or catch a quick bite to eat

This business is an outside venue to support small groups and large groups that provide food through the variety of food trucks. The on premise building does serve beer and soft drinks. This location provides stages for music and family entertainment. This visit was offering music from Mississippi Clean and a children program called Bluey. Check the website for 9 mile Garden for daily and monthly events. The grounds have tables but you can bring chairs to watch the bands or any other entertainment that is scheduled. I checked for later in May and one of my favorite rock cover bands "Infringement" is scheduled later in May.Check out 9 mile and experience a great entertainment venue.

After hearing many great things about 9 Mile Garden, I decided to finally try it tonight. It's safe to say that was one of the strangest experiences of my life. This might be a little dramatic, but I'm slightly traumatized. The concept is really cute and fun, but maybe we went on the wrong day. The food options were very limited, but we decided to try Truck Norris. The employees were very friendly, and our food came out quickly. However, the food itself was very mediocre and overpriced. The chicken tacos were pretty good, but for being so small and only consisting of chicken, corn, and guacamole, I wouldn't say it's worth $9 for two tacos. The buffalo chicken egg rolls were also pretty good, but nothing special. As far as the environment, I love that this place is very dog-friendly. However, some people struggled to control their dogs. Also, I witnessed an intoxicated woman publicly beat her two husky puppies in front of everyone. Quite literally everyone there stopped eating and watched this happen. One of the puppies squealed in pain and began limping. When a bystander approached the lady to inform her that the puppy was injured, the owner proceeded to yell at her. Lots of other peculiar things happened too in the short time we ate here. Part of me wants to try coming back a different time when the food trucks rotate out, but I'm hesitant.

I've never been here before but came for a Dog Halloween Costume contest. What an incredible place! It had a vintage feel as you can see from lighting in the bathroom. The signage on the bathroom door reminded me of a gatsby vibe. I love that they hosted an event for Dog Savers Rescue and donated money raised to them as well as bringing such a large audience the attention of a great rescue! While I was there at least one dog was adopted! The bartenders were very friendly and accommodating, always asked if they could get us anything.

There's a lot of sunny seating. Just a bit of shade up by the canteen.

I love the concept of a park with a rotating selection of food trucks, entertainment, and a welcoming atmosphere. But 9 Mile Garden has a couple more miles to go before hitting that mark. On the day we visited, we checked social media first to make sure there'd be food that everyone likes. Unfortunately, when we arrived at 10:30 am for Sunday brunch (served 10-2) only four of the eight trucks advertised were there. None of the vendors we were hoping to try was present. I know things happen, but it would be great if the Garden folks would update their website and FB when they do - if you're gonna post a schedule, post updates. We would've tried a different day if we'd known what was (and wasn't) really there. **EDIT: I've been directed to an IG post from Sunday morning that lists just 4 trucks; I don't know why they didn't share that with their FB audience. As noted in other reviews, drink prices are crazy high. And there's no recycling available. Not reviewing the food here, since that's up to the individual trucks. While we're all privileged with our mobility, I did notice that there doesn't seem to be a clear, paved path for anyone who's not. There's a concrete drive for the trucks, but the gate on that is closed. I didn't notice any reserved parking spaces for mobility-challenged folks, either. The majority of seating is at picnic tables in an open field of Astroturf, and there's some shade up by the Canteen. I'd give this another chance to check out other trucks and entertainment, but knowing that my mobility-challenged friends are not included, I probably won't be back until I hear about those necessary updates.

I wanted to like this place...love it, even I do not though. #1 they do not provide ample parking but most importantly -- THEY HAVE NO DESIGNATED DISABLED PARKING. This made it impossible for my wife to come with me to obtain food and drink. For that reason alone, 2 stars. In this day and age, it is extremely important to honor and promote equality and diversity. This outdoor arena does neither. We opted not to order and just left. Inclusivity in food grumps doesn't matter if is also not created in the space for patrons to enjoy. A very disappointing experience for what looked to be a lovely morning to have brunch outside with my wife and pup. Being from the south, we would have loved to try the shrimp and grits, but not to eat in our car.

Ask the Community - 9 Mile Garden

Do they check purses and bags to get in?

Bag checks are not required; however they do have rules posted on their website and at the garden of prohibited items.

Do you recommend bringing chairs or a blanket for the live music?

I always pack a blanket in case tables aren't available! Picnic style is the way to go here.

Where is the parking lot located? I drove by and saw a small lot. Is there a larger lot somewhere or is it off street parking?

There is a small parking lot in front. Street parking behind it.

Some people dont use social media. Why arent the daily trucks posted ON THE WEBSITE like it says?

I'd call them and let them know the calendar plugin on the website isn't working. This isn't…

Are they still doing trucks at night?

Yes, they are still doing trucks in the evening. They usually go from 5-9p, but some nights if it is slow they are leaving a little earlier around 8ish.

I stopped by on a Sunday just before a rush, so I was able to get my food ordered and made promptly. I just had the spicy chicken katsu sandwich and fries, which was very good. Particularly with the sheer amount fries in the box, you could easily split it. I do want to eventually come by and try one of their desserts, but I was absolutely stuffed after my food, so I did not indulge this time. Considering the serving size, I think the price is very reasonable. It's not a huge menu, but sometimes that's just a sign that they only make what they know they can do well. Highly recommended

The only thing I expected a bit more from was the bread itself. Since it's a sandwich-focused spot, I thought it would be a little more memorable, but it definitely didn't take away from how good everything else was. Don't skip dessert either. We tried both the Choc Oreo Taiyaki and the Nutella Taiyaki (those fish-shaped waffle things), and they were the perfect sweet finish. Can't wait to come back and try more of the menu!

It's fun, quirky, and filled with delicious goodies -- a great place to get coffee and tea, with the added bonus of sweet treats! I love the rotation of seasonal drinks, and the baked goods are a small but mighty selection of scones, muffins, cookies, brioche cinnamon rolls (my favorite!), and other yummy baked deliciousness! Staff are friendly and helpful in offering options -- for example, I needed some dairy free milk choices. The barista also offered great recommendations with the seasonal drinks. Pricing is really reasonable... which allows you to indulge in some additional baked goods or one of their fun merchandise items like homemade dog treats, t-shirts, mugs, etc. I also like that they have a small shelf of books, records, and games if you want a little BFF time - with your bestie or for just yourself! I enjoy stopping in for refreshments and a little break from shopping on Lindbergh, or getting something to go to enjoy at home. The vibe is relaxed, and easy-going, and marching to the beat of its own drum. You gotta love places like this! There is plenty of parking, and the lot is easy to get in and out of. Just watch your step at the doorway entry/exit. It's got a slight incline - so watch your step. Seating is limited, but it seems to work, because there is a steady "to go" crowd that doesn't take up the tables. I love this cool spot in South County! It's local, and I love that over bigger, more expensive alternatives. I've been thinking a lot about those cinnamon rolls. So, I need another visit!

I arrived early at around 8:15. This is a relatively small establishment with a small parking lot. It looks like they have a trailer available for mobile coffee service too. They were fairly busy and it seemed like only one person was working. This made the wait a bit longer than I expected, but the employee was working very hard and making good time considering she was alone. I enjoyed listening to the alternative music and hanging out in the store. It was clean and comfortable. I ordered one of their March specials, the Peanut Butter Guts, as I love coffee and peanut butter together. I also ordered a cookie from Cookie Hustle (which I think is like a sister business housed under the same roof) -- a pumpkin snickerdoodle. Sounded so good! I enjoyed my coffee drink. It definitely had a detectable and enjoyable peanut butter flavor, as well as the mocha. I think it was a tiny bit heavy on milk for my preference, but overall it was tasty. I ate the cookie later and it was absolutely delicious. Perfect chewy snickerdoodle texture and lots of yummy spices. I wish I'd gotten several different cookies to try more! When I showed up at breakfast with my coffee, my family remarked on how much they like this little shop and keep coffee from here at their house for special occasions. High praise! If you're in the area, give them some love! :)

Delicious food, beautiful decor, and decent pricing!!…read more I've been here a few times, so I brought my mom as she has been talking about this place for a while. Walking up to the entry gives you vacation vibes from The decor, tropical plants and modern aesthetics. Service was 10/10. All the staff we encountered were so friendly. They came by to check on us, and even the owner/manager came out to check in and make sure everything was good. The tacos were absolutely delicious, seasoned well and every ingredient was FRESH. I ordered the Galveston, and the Baja, and my mom ordered the del Rio and the Biloxi, and we shared a trifecta appetiser.. The queso and guacamole and salsa were some of the best ones I've had. The portions are plentiful. Definitely give them a try. They add something new to the menu every so often, and They offer brunch as well.

This location was very close to where we were. It was the perfect time to try it! Ambiance: I really love the esthetics of the restaurant. The floral arrangements in the front is very inviting and added a great touch. I also loved the covered outdoor seating areas available, along with the indoor option. We surprisingly opted to sit outside, because heat is not my friend. The industrial fan definitely helped! I felt like I was sitting on one of friend's veranda in the carribean Food: I really enjoyed the food. Tacos are a la carte. For appetizer we opted for the Trifecta which came with guac, queso, and rojo salsa. Let me just say, their happy hour deals are a great steal! Order: There are a couple different ways to order & pay. Use the traditional way of having the server take our order by raising the card "Lets Taco Buddha it," or by scanning the QR code and placing order yourself & pay online. At first, I started the online order because I felt like this would allow me more time to read the menu and order on my own terms. I ended up raising my card and having someone take my order despite having it all in my cart. Tacos are served "family style" comes out on the same platter. We opted for the Baja ( battered pallock) & The Jodhpur (marinated grilled chicken). The kiddos opted for the quesadillas and fried chicken taco. Everything was flavorful (with the exception of their hot/mild sauces, those were flavorless, however not necessary to add). Not going to lie, I made a joke to my mom about the food being served on a surgical tray or "doggy platter." LOL lol. Service: They use a team model. I saw multiple staff going throughout the restaurant checking on needs & refilling water pitchers. Everyone was really nice, they had small toys for children to play with at the table and it's always a plus when they strike up a conversation with my kiddos. Parking: We arrived shortly after 4pm and there were lots of spots available. By the time we were leaving, there were two cars waiting for spots. It is also located alongside a busy street, the restaurant did get packed for dinner on a weekday. Pricing: Prices does add up very pretty quickly, however 1 Taco can be very filling especially if you opted for appetizers. The only thing I would have changed is not to order my meal the same time as my appetizer. It came out almost together. I would have liked to enjoyed the appetizers prior to my entrée.
