I first went here for a Yelp event. I loved everything then. I went today after a Yelp event at the aquarium and this time was no less excellent. The food was wonderful. I love the mix of flavors and flavor profiles. Our waitress was very attentive and was able to get us a great seat indoors. The food came out quick and efficiently. I was very impressed! I love all the decorations and the fact that this used to be an old gas station or service station. It definitely adds to the ambiance. Overall I had an amazing experience and I will definitely be back!

super cute venue if you are craving street tacos! GLUTEN FREE FRIENDLY! They have indoor seating and a cute patio with greenery! The staff was very kind and had great service! The inside was spaced well and kid friendly! for food we ordered the guacamole and salsa with chips to start! the salsa was different with a smoky finish but delicious! The guacamole was decent. For tacos i ordered the Biloxi( cajun shrimp) (3.5/5 stars) the nashville (lots of pimento cheese) (2/5 stars- i don't like pimento cheese tho) and the galveston with shrimp (5/5 stars). my friend ordered the Taos (3/5 stars) the Nashville (4/5 stars- wish it were more spicy) and the baja (5/5 stars). I would definitely come here again!

    Santorini and Baja tacos

Loved everything about this place (except they have those darn metal chairs, lol). The food was great, the music selection was good-not too loud, and the staff were so nice. My dinner date was late and they were sure to check on me while I waited. Speaking of waiting, I went ahead and order a margarita and the Trifecta. Loved the queso and salsa-it's a bit smoky. And the guac was good, but it had so many onions in it and I'm not a raw onion fan. Once we moved on the main course, it was a tough decision because I wanted to try all the tacos but I settled on the Santorini (TOTM) and a classic Baja. Both were excellent. The fish on the Baja was large and perfectly crispy. Keep your eye out for the next time they have the Santorini if you like Greek flavors. These tocos did not lack ingredients, you will not leave hungry. Others have mentioned their QR ordering system and I actually quite liked it. Sure I love the interaction of having a server for the whole experience, but I didn't feel that it lacked in service this way. They still check on you periodically. Once you figure it out, it's easy peasy.

The Jodhpur, The Thailand, and The Del Rio. Yes they all look similar but they were all tasty if not unique.

If you are looking for taco places from A to Zen, then Taco Buddha is an option locals rave about. I ordered 3 tacos: 1) The Jodhpur - an Indian-theme chicken taco 2) The Del Rio - a brisket taco 3) The Thailand - a, you guessed it, Thai inspired beef taco I thought the meat was flavorful on each and they were all good, however because all had roughly the same toppings and sauces, I could not tell one from the next. Perhaps the ones I ordered were meant to be similar but I thought Thai, Indian, and brisket would be different enough. I would come again and order the tacos again, but I couldn't tell you which was my favorite because they ultimately tasted the same. Good work with the spin on a taco shop though!

Fun taco varieties and delicious sides too. This is a great spot for a sit down lunch that is local and feels nicer than fast casual. Great covered patio when the weather allows. The chips and queso are a must. The queso is delicious. I love the Baja fish taco and order it every time. The Del Rio with the beef brisket is also a consistent hit. This time I tried the new McCausland (an ode to Hi-Pointe), which really did have a burger taste, with great seasoning and sauce. That was fun! (Funny how I ordered a taco burger at Hi-Pointe a month ago and now a burger taco at Taco Buddha. I guess I have a type- lol.) There is something for everyone here, even my picky kids, and they are great about labeling items for those with allergies or restrictions. Notes about ordering: you can use the QR code from your phone at the table, or just order verbally from your server instead. With the way the QR ordering site works, you "start a tab" authorizing your card and then "close your tab" at the end. I can see how it would be nice if you are coming for drinks or a longer evening where you decide to add some items as time goes on. They now give the option to just place your order with the wait staff- I am sure that helps a lot with tech questions. I know people like my parents would *really* not love the QR method and the ensuing confusion! So I think it is great that they give everyone the option, being inclusive of everyone's preferences. With QR ordering, it is easy to have separate checks with friends. But if you don't time it right, your food may come out at different times! Order the chips and dip first to hold you over and maybe this won't be an issue ;) The service was very friendly and helpful. Everyone seems happy to be there! Our server told us about the monthly special- sounded great. We asked about portions, and she explained that one taco might be ordered as an appetizer, two for a meal. I ordered three tacos at once because I tried something new but didn't want to miss out on my favorites. (I had leftovers!)

Taco Buddha is a great fast casual stop for tacos, from the same folks over at hi point burgers. There are a vast array of taco options (including a burger one!) & more, you'll want to try a few! My fave is the del Rio taco - which has brisket, avocado, cheese & more. The portion size is big, one was good for me (along with chips and dip). The food is delicious, the shop is clean & modern. There's an outdoor covered seating area as well that is dog friendly. The food comes fast! Prices are okay a la carte but it does add up with trying multiple tacos and getting chips and dip. They have a unique system for ordering, and I think there is room for improvement. You seem to not have one specific server but all employees are hands on deck. You can order either with the QR code (which seemed to be the encouraged method) or through a server. Our server said they bring out the food "family style" & tacos on one tray, but ours came individually as we ordered it. You go get your own water refills. You have to put your credit card in when you order via QR code - it shows your total as 1 penny but it essentially opens your tab. Then you can close/pay it whenever through the code. It's a bit confusing to say the least. It took our server awhile to just explain it - I can imagine they deal with a lot of questions and confusion with the process. I would suggest they just shift to a traditional restaurant style - or go back to the all DIY ordering method. Overall, Taco Buddha is a great lunch spot offering yummy tacos, with some room for improvement with their ordering process.

Heated patio! Or plenty of tables inside. Use the QR code to place your order. Or put up the red flag to order. We started with green chilies queso and rojo salsa. The dips were served with thin tortilla chips. My favorite is the queso! The Biloxi taco has three huge shrimp and is bursting with flavor! One taco was enough for a meal for me, my dining partner (who has a big appetite) needed two. He chose The Thailand- shredded beef - so good! The pineapple agua Fresca was delicious- light and fresh.

This is embarrassing... that it took so long for me to review!!!... I have been going to this place for good long while, including the one that was on Pershing in U City/Clayton, back to the beginning. 1. The Top Shelf Margarita here is AWESOME... not a crappy mix that is cloyingly sweet that can barely be tolerated... 2. I have to be gluten-free and I feel incredibly safe here - EVERYTHING, including crispy fried, or breaded, items are still gluten free --- except flour tortillas. I feel SUPER comfortable here and have never had a problem/reaction nada. 3. The service is always friendly and attentive. I almost never wait for food - I literally order it and its out in literally 10 minutes... I like that this place feels like an intimate place with a nice patio but serves things almost fast-casual style but you'll never feel that way when you go in there. They added this gloriously-painted cork mural across the walls an ceiling and it really softened the sound inside and made it look gorgeous. The Nashville Hot Chicken taco is one of my very favorite tacos there - not too hot but I could even go doubly as spicy as it is. Everything is very clearly so fresh - you won't find a wilted lettuce shred here. The fixings on the top of tacos that complement the protein are well-thought (i.e., pickled things and aioli). The queso is superior to any queso I've ever had despite Mexican and tacos being my primary eating-out food since it is super easy to navigate with Celiac disease. Very much at the top of my list as one of my favorite spots.

    THE DEL RIO The BANGKOK

Three parking lot is small but the service and food sure makes up for it. I've been here before but a family member was in town and we wanted to get some tacos. What better place than Taco Buddha. We were seated right away and the staff explained the process to my family member. I love ordering from the table but my brother ordered from the front. Either way, they bring your food to your table once it's ready. Every single staff member we came across was equally nice and attentive. The vibe here is just something you'd hope to receive everywhere. The environment is peaceful yet fun. The food is even better. I tried the taco of the month which is the The BANGKOK. Crispy coconut shrimp with Thai sauce is delicious. Then if course my favorite THE DEL RIO. Pinto beans are really good after I add salt to it. Guac is really good and taste fresh. We also had margaritas which wasn't bad. I will definitely return to Taco Buddha!

    Monthly Special: Thai Coconut Shrimp

We sat outside at night, and they have the anti-fly fans in the tables to keep bugs away while you eat (love to see it!). Service was friendly, even though they were busy, and they were able to help us when the ordering QR code had a glitch. Food from our most recent visit: monthly special Thai coconut shrimp, Jodhpur, and veggie tacos. Salsa always hits with the roasted/smokey tomato flavor, and their frozen margs with a spicy floater is the always tasty!

Couldn't get a signal out on the patio so no pix but my goodness - this place is the bomb! Everything is gluten free with the exception of the flour tortillas. Any item can also be made dairy free. If you don't try anything you GOTTA have the Avocado Fries with their Aioli. Light, crispy, thick slices of avocado and an aioli you could eat on its own with a spoon. The tacos were all terrific - the Baja was our favorite with a very generous portion of cod, perfectly fried in a light GF batter. The tandoori chicken was our second favorite. Super flavorful and tender! The special, "The Lafayette" arrived with one tiny piece of blackened pollock (unlike the loaded version in the photo). It was surprisingly skimpy compared to the generous portions on their daily tacos. Our server Jackson was great - personable and helpful. I'm sure cheese would have made everything even better but they do not offer any dairy alternatives. But an extra cup of that aioli did the trick! We will definitely be back. They take the gluten and dairy sensitivity seriously and that means a lot to those of us who are dealing with it. Recommend!!

Shrimp and grits, chips and salsa, breakfast tacos, and pancakes. Yum!!

Came here on a whim for brunch and was not disappointed! I am pregnant and woke up NEEDING chips and salsa, and when I saw TB had a full brunch menu, it was an easy choice. I don't have a lot of chill these days so my husband and I ordered like 6 things between us and all were great. Chips and salsa were phenomenal. The salsa was flavorful with a good amount of spice and the chips were thin and crispy with just the right about of salt and tasted very fresh. I would say the migas taco was my favorite, made extra delicious with their hot sauce. My husband loved his chorizo taco. They are big so you could easily fill up on a single taco. We also loved the blue cornmeal pancakes! Great texture and I think they'd be extra delish with some fruit or jam on top. Our least favorite item (that was still very yummy) was the shrimp and grits. In my experience, grits are usually super creamy and cheesy, and these were more grainy--but not in a negative or undercooked way. They were not spicy at all so if you have someone with you who is spice averse, that's a safe choice. My only complaint, which isn't really a complaint, is that they could use some fun coffee options. I'm an iced coffee gal and an iced coffee with maybe some horchata would have been a perfect drink. Thank you for the great food, great service, and super reasonable prices!

I'm always on the lookout for a good Mexican restaurant, in case I need a burrito all of a sudden,…read morefor emotional reasons. Amigos Cantina might be the place to go in Kirkwood, which strikes me as the kind of place where the spice level is often inquired about. I'm not even sure if there's a Taco Bell nearby. I did a five-mile run before I sat down to eat, but it was mostly through residential areas. I kept the volume at a reasonable level, out of respect. I never actually went into the restaurant. A member of our group went in and requested a table for like 12, but then we just ended up sitting at the tables out front, on the sidewalk. We were considering those tables anyway, as connoisseurs of al fresco dining, but someone said there was also a patio out back. If the interior is anything like the sidewalk out front, I'm sure it's just lovely. The signage reminds me of the branding on one of those taco kits you get at the grocery store. I consulted Copilot while I was at work, doing desk calisthenics, getting myself pumped up. You may recall that I also sought its counsel before a trip to a Jersey Mike's a while back. (If they've yet to release a version of it in Italy, they might consider calling it Consigliere.) Specifically, I asked it the best thing to order. It recommended a few entrees featuring the shrimp, which must be highly regarded, and a certain kind of margarita. I can't remember which margarita it was, and I didn't end up ordering it. Separately, I saw where someone posted a picture of a flight of margaritas, and I knew I just had to have that. I've been obsessed with flights of drinks since I saw one was available at a brewery I recently visited. I didn't get one, and I've been kicking myself ever since. It might be my life's greatest regret. With the flight, you get to pick four of six available flavors. I got the peach, amaretto, raspberry and pomegranate, and I know one of the other available flavors was orange. It comes in its own custom tray, designed to be carried without being spilled. Each one is a decent-size drink, but they're not especially stiff. Ayo! As you might suspect, given the (overall) amount of alcohol you get, it's not exactly top shelf. But it's not the Kool-Aid-tasting swill that comes from a dispenser either. Of the four I got, I preferred the peach and raspberry to the amaretto and pomegranate. I went with Cilantro Lime Shrimp, which *was* in fact one of the recommendations from my trusty copilot. It was great! It's served over rice, so it kinda soaks up the liquid from the shrimp, but without becoming overly soupy. They obviously make these all the time and have gotten it down to a science. They fan out the shrimp on the plate so it seems like they've given you more than they have, but it's still a pretty decent amount, for a dish that's not that expensive. It's garnished with fajita-like peppers and a surprisingly piquant, erm, pico. The lime really sets it off. It's served with tortillas, and I packed each one with a bit of rice in addition to shrimp, peppers and what have you. It made for a surprisingly hearty meal, like one of those cans of soup that's advertised primarily to men. If, for some reason, I find myself in the area again, and I'm in need of a burrito, I'll be back, and hopefully I'll take a look inside and explore the menu further.
