    Goat cheese tart w/ beets

They have a free tasting on Mondays, so I went with a friend to check it out. This past Monday, they had four Spanish wines for us to try. The tasting itself flew by, and we did wind up purchasing a bottle, which they were able to a split at the bar on our tabs for us. Then, we stayed for a glass and food. Food was amazingggg. Our server was knowledgeable and helpful describing wines to us and suggested cheese pairings. I will say the serving size is more "small bites" than "meal," but I had a nice night out.

Y'all... this might just be the best little wine bar in the city. Seriously. Go for Pasta Tuesday or Oysters on the first Friday of the month, both are always on point. The wine list is fantastic, and the staff couldn't be friendlier. Such a great spot

What's better than sparkling wine and oysters? The wine house is now doing a monthly oyster night, so we popped in to try it out. These oysters were from the Cape Cod area--briny, and absolutely delicious. We started with half a dozen, but they were so good we had to order another dozen. The space has a cozy, cabin-like, rustic feel. With the fireplace lit (thanks to the week's storms), it was warm, dark, and cozy.

Can't speak for the food, but they have a lovely drink selection and knowledgeable, friendly servers. I love the vibes inside and the back patio is lovely for a quiet evening. I'm planning to come in soon for a wine tasting Monday or a pasta Tuesday!

Our server was great and attentive. The food is good, but I felt it was pretty salty. The restaurant is very cozy and intimate. It is nice. The Mac and cheese has a very strong truffle flavor.

I have been here 2x and have really enjoyed this place. While they have a limited food menu, what they have is good. I particularly enjoyed the meatballs and the BLAT. The crostini is pretty good too. The service is always very friendly and they have great wine suggestions. Food usually comes out pretty quickly. The space is larger than expected and very homey. There is plenty of seating for groups of people. Def a great place to go and I def want to go back for their Tuesday pasta night and Wednesday pizza.

I've been here twice and the vibe is AMAZING. Think warm, happy, wooden atmosphere. Kind of like I was in a cabin. The entrance is on the far right side of the building. It's a great size, the fireplace is so cute, and the servers/bartenders are great. No matter the day that I go, people are here having a good time. The menu is quite vast with wines from multiple countries. The first time I came here, I sat at the bar and ordered a chilled half bottle of red wine that the bartender recommended. It was great! The second time, I sat at a table. Each of the tables are pretty close together, and it gave us the chance to talk with a stranger next to us who, because I was being vocal about not knowing what to order, recommended one of the wines off the special menu on the blackboard in the back (probably changes weekly?). It was a white wine that I could not pronounce, and it was WONDERFUL. I would keep coming back here for sure. Next time I'll try the food!

What a cozy wine bar! Their food menu is small but everything we tried was amazing. The flory's truckle cheese was so good as was the mac n cheese and poutine. Great selection of wines and some beers and the bartenders/servers are very friendly.

This was our first time there. He got a red wine and I got a house Chardonnay. Both of our wines were excellent. This space is where the old WEGAP use to be. Their sign isn't that visible. It's black on black. We had recommendations from a friend on the food. We started and shared the goat cheese tart. Goat cheese, potatoes and beets served warm. Wonderful. Then we looked at the board. Fondue!! Only on Tuesdays do they serve fondue. I was a fondue virgin and it was delicious. I told him he could not pick up the fondue pot to drink it because it would be hot. For dessert we tried the chocolate bread pudding. What a delicious way to end a meal. We will be going back to try the meatballs and the panini. If you see me there, stop by and say hello.

We have been to Black Mountain Wine House 2x and we can't wait to go back. Their Tuesday pasta specials drew us in but the ambiance and the service truly made the experience magical. The food is so good-- poutine (my favorite) was devoured by our group, the meatballs are moist and flavorful, the pasta decadent, the crème brulee the perfect end to any meal. The wine selection is great and they are so willing to help you find the best pairing for you. We came for their special oyster event and we loved enjoying them on their back patio. Such a wonderful wine bar in CWE!

The music was great! Joe, owner/operator, knew so much about unique wines. I felt like I was in Joe's home while dining, and come to find out, I was. 354 N. Loved it. We tried the cheese board, goat cheese tart, roasted tomatoes, vegetarian poutine, white bean crostinis and 2 mac n cheeses. We also ordered a white and a red to split. The manager is lovely, knowledgeable. My salad was delicious and creative. There is a wine bar attached and they do free wine tastings on certain nights.

I wish I would have taken more pictures. I've been wanting to check this place out for a while. Free wine tasting from 5-7 on Mondays, fresh pasta on Tuesdays, a quaint patio, cozy interior and a variety of delicious tapas and entrees. Plus a great creme brulee. The staff were friendly and service was prompt. I can't wait to go back to try the pasta!

We (party of 4) waited about 1 hour to get a table outside. While waiting for our table, I ordered the Woody Straw at the bar, and it was delicious. The strawberry liqueur and basil vodka paired well, and it was refreshing. The only issue was that it wasn't filled all the way. There was ice filled to the top to give an illusion of a full drink, but it was obviously not full. After being seated outside, I ordered a red Sangria. It was sweet, tart, and the perfect drink to go with the Dylan Pizza. The pizza was incredible and Neapolitan-style. It was smooth and the combination of flavors worked well. I loved the honey and caramelized onions, but the olive oil base made the pizza a little soggy over time. The service here was a bit underwhelming. After being sat outside, the servers switched, and we didn't get taken care of until it was near closing time. However, the patio and pizza were stars of the show, and definitely have me wanting to come back.

'ssippi is a new(ish) wine bar set towards the western end of the collection of bars, restaurants, and shops that are the heart of the strip. The inside has a large wrap about bar and some limited seating. There is a very good selection of wine and mixed drinks and an okay selection of beer. The prices are reasonable. There is a very limited food menu which largely consists of snacks rather than proper entrees. So this is a great pre/post drink spot rather than somewhere you would spend an evening. The bartenders were fine. Nothing stood out either in a good or bad way. The mixed drink my wife had was very good. The orange wine I had was good, a bit on the dry side but overall no complaints from either of us. Without a highlight of the spot is the large patio. It is mostly taken up by large bench style seating. So you have to be okay sitting next to strangers. I actually enjoy these types of settings and I ended up chatting up the group to our right. There are a couple tables but they are few and far between. There are some overhead canopies and lights, and there was a nice vibe and energy. I was there and it was crowded. I really enjoyed it. Just two additional things to note. The bathroom line was very long. It must only be one stall. The entire time I was there it was a dozen people deep. The only other downside is that my wife and I felt old. The vibe on a late(ish) Saturday night was mainly 20 year olds. If I was in grad school or a recent graduate I would absolutely adore this place. Even if your 30s this probably is a good vibe. Once you hit 40 though you may feel a bit out of place on busy nights (or it will make you feel young again!)

Versatile, knows…read morehow to treat yo' self, equally at home in yoga pants, ready for a backwoods adventure or dressed to the nines, and doesn't blink at any version of you that walks through the door. That's the vibe. We started on the front patio on a Friday night and quickly realized we'd made a mistake. The doors to the interior were open and the music -- a rock-forward playlist that night -- was loud enough that we considered bailing. Our server, was unbothered when we asked to move up to the rooftop. Where we met with a new bartender and server, London, who rolled with it, got us resettled, and from that point on the night was great. London was clearly handling the bar and most of the rooftop tables, but she was attentive throughout, and made eye contact, which seems a near miracle from many 20-something these days. Bumping the score up just for the flexibility on the table move alone. The food: crab cakes were genuinely good, not life-changing, but well above the weak-crab-cake bar that exists in most of the world, served simply with capers and a small salad. I went off-script and ordered the wagyu burger medium rare with fontina (London mentioned cheddar is the more common pick, but the Fontina offerd a great alternative). The burger was deeply flavorful and cooked exactly right, but here's my one real note for the kitchen: toast the brioche bun. Wagyu medium-rare puts out a lot of juice, and an untoasted bun loses its structural integrity about three bites in. A quick toast would let the bun keep some additional integrate and keep up with the perfectly cooked beef. The pom buff were great, the best elevated patato tots you may come by. Beyond what we ordered, the Greek salad is a longtime go-to -- chopped, with grape leaves and pita, available in a small or large, and easily dressed up into a light meal with or without adding some protein or can be share as a self-dress bruschetta appetizer for the group if you ask for extra bread. The cheese boards are also a reliable pick. The wine list is extensive (it's a wine bar, after all), but they don't sniff at cocktails -- I had a solid fine old fashioned, and my wife shared had a Malbec that paired well with everything. Lots of gluten-free options across the menu, too. What Sasha's gets right is that it has refused to become precious. "Wine bar" reads as pretentious to some people, but this place runs as a neighborhood spot. You'll see college kids dressed way down, couples on dates dressed way up, Hawaiian shirts, oversized sweaters, the full range. It's the kind of place where you can split a bottle with your girlfriends, meet a date for drinks and a quick bite without committing to a full dinner, or roll in for brunch on the weekend. Different times of day, different vibes -- always approachable. 4.7 stars. Loses a few tenths for the front-patio music situation and the weak burger bun, but more than makes up for it on flexibility, food, and overall hang factor.

There were a few open tables, but we were asked to wait by the door while they "got situated." Meanwhile, a walk-in who arrived after us was seated at a table we had been waiting for. When we were finally seated, we were placed in direct sun. I asked if we could move to a shaded table in the corner and was told it was only for parties of three. After explaining we'd just be there briefly for a drink, we were allowed to sit there, but the interaction felt dismissive. From that point on, the experience felt rushed. We were pushed to order quickly, our menus were taken right away, and the check came almost immediately. It made what should have been a relaxed stop feel uncomfortable and transactional. I understand how busy restaurants can get, especially on nice days, but a little more consideration and courtesy would have gone a long way.

Food was middle of the road. A smoked sirloin sandwich was tasty, though rather well-done. And the order of "salmon cakes", which the menu says is made of "smoked salmon, roast corn, tomato, cucumber, creme fraiche, and capers" was in fact just one cake (not cakes!), smaller than a hockey puck (about 1/2" thick max) and seemed to be made of canned fish, not the bright orange of smoked salmon. They had a cute little back patio and a citronella candle was provided when mentioning that some mosquitoes were flying around. Was a perfect spot for a little date night :)

My friends and I had gone out to eat nearby and were looking for a place to enjoy post-dinner…read moredrinks. We stumbled across Novella last-minute, and I am beyond grateful we discovered this gem! The inside is so warm and cozy. We sat at a table in the back, and it was very private and secluded in our corner. The owner said the beautiful table we were sitting at was hand-made. We also took a peek at the back patio, and I seriously can't wait to visit this spring and summer once it's nice and warm outside! The string lights out there were absolute perfection. We tried different wines and mixed drinks. The owner was so helpful and answered all our questions about the menu. I also love that they offer a seasonal menu. All of the food sounded so good, too. We totally would've ordered some if we hadn't just eaten a large meal beforehand. Guess that means I'll have to try some next time I'm back! I'm already planning my next visit. This is truly a special place!
