The hotel was absolutely amazing! Everything was so clean, and the smell when I first walked in was incredible. The staff was also super friendly and welcoming. I actually didn't stay overnight, but I was in the area and Google Maps recommended the restaurant, so I decided to check it out. I'm so glad I did! The manager, Julie, recommended the poke bowl and a drink (I unfortunately forgot the name), and I decided to give them a try. I absolutely loved them! My husband ordered the burger with a fried egg on it because he's a huge burger guy, and he still talks about--and craves--that burger to this day! I've already recommended this place to all of my friends who live around Irvine, and I'll definitely be coming back for happy hour. I'm also planning to book a night here next time. I had the poke bowl, and the fish was incredibly fresh with perfectly cooked rice. We also ordered a pasta dish that was cooked al dente and tossed in a fresh, flavorful sauce with tomatoes and vegetables. The service was friendly, and the atmosphere was welcoming. The drinks are great. Upon walking up to the bar area I was greeted immediately. Staff immediately gave me a menu. And mentioned a special that day. They also let me know that there was a happy hour. Happy hour!? Can't go wrong there can we lol. I've had the club sandwich, wings and burger. Club sandwich. Pretty much your average club sandwich. However the ingredients are fresh. Yes it's processed turkey slices. But that's ok. They're good quality ones at that. And they don't skimp. It was a very large well proportioned sandwich. Wings. Alright these are the star of the show. Simple but done right. You know when you just want something good? And everywhere just over does it trying to be different? Not these. This is the restaurant in the same hotel that I stayed so it was very convenient. They have seating in a separate room but I decided to stay in the outside seating near the bar and the tvs. Service was ok. Only one bartender serving drinks and waiting on the tables so it took a while for me to get water and a menu. I ordered the poke bowl and the food came out relatively fast. The poke was ok and the brown rice was a little hard and not as soft as I like. Pricing was ok considering the area. I would probably try another restaurant next time I'm in town. read more

The restaurant is right in the Hotel lobby and so convenient for guests that like a meal and don't have to go anywhere far. We were there just for breakfast. They offer many choices, a buffet for breakfast also for the hungry. They have TV's for your sports entertainment. There is a separate dining area from the bar if you like a lesser open environment. We chose to sit right outside the double doors in the bar area for a quick meal before headed back to San Diego. We got the two egg breakfast with sausage or bacon with sourdough bread. Your option for beverages was the usual coffee, tea or OJ. All was delicious as expected. Table service was prompt and courteous. We were the only ones in that area. Others diners sat on the other side of the double doors. The meal was very quick, just as we wanted. The convenience was most important. So if you're in the area give it a try, you may just like it. Be warned the price for two egg breakfast was over $52 and with tip $65 plus so be aware. The buffet was $35 pp. So don't sticker shock if you dine there. read more

I picked this place for a weekday lunch and came here based on the reviews. I am not sure how this place is rated 4. The food was not consistent with the ratings in my opinion and still puzzled IMO. The reason I gave it two stars is due to the pleasant customer service staff and decent interior decor. Creamed Spinach & Pita chips were undercooked since the cheese on top looked like shredded cheese and not fully melted. Fried Pita bread was too thick and not crispy. The Seared Ahi Tuna was slightly cold and undercooked or lack of a seared effect. The ponzu sauce was too sweet and had a generic taste from a bottle. Rice was overcooked and soggy. Broccolini was crispy and cooked perfectly with a slick crunch not overcooked. Pizza Margherita has no tomato sauce and used sliced San Marzano tomatoes on top and not puree as the base - really? The cheese didn't look like thin mozzarella cheese and looked like processed American cheese -why was it yellow? Were there any Basil leaves? My Entrée: Jidori Chicken; half chicken roasted to perfection. topped with a onion ring. included; corn bean succotash. Fantastic! I drank an iced tea with my meal. Diana had: Prime Rib Dip; prime rib, swiss cheese, onion fritters, chewy ciabatta bread, roasted red beet horseradish, and truffle fries. Yummy! Brought a guest to 90 Pacifica for lunch. My meal was terrible. I ordered the Prime Rib Dip, with au jus and fries. The truffle fries were visibly unappealing, limp and super-soggy. None of the fries were crisp. They were a total mess of potato strips; and appeared (and tasted) as if they had been left in a bowl of water for a long time. After one attempt, I did not eat them and left the mess of watery potatoes on my plate. The au jus was bland and lacked flavor. I'm at a loss about the au jus: it should be easy to prepare hot and flavorful au jus ahead of time. It's not complicated. The only redeeming quality about the sandwich itself was the sliced beef. The sliced beef was, in fact, sliced roast beef. I left the Ciabatta bread on my plate and ate the roast beef separately (because we only had an hour to spare for lunch). My unappetizing Prime Rib Dip meal cost about $21.00 (tax included). After we left the restaurant and drove down the street, we saw a fast-food burger restaurant, and stopped there; and ordered two new meals to go because we were so hungry. Thankfully, the fast-food burgers and fries were satisfying, and a lot less expensive than $21.00 for my Prime Rib Dip sandwich and fries. Ordered chicken wings, onion rings, artichoke dip and roasted Brussels sprouts as starters for our group to share....and all were perfectly yummy. This is Irvine's hidden gem, tucked away in the DoubleTree Hotel (which means you can leave with a can of their signature, freshly baked cookies,) and surrounded by The Irvine Company's cookie-cutter "luxury" apartments and office parks. The service here is always phenomenal. Portia runs the show in the dining room and bar during weekday lunches. She's sweet, knowledgeable, and accommodating, always anticipating the requests of her guests. The menu offers a diverse selection of entrees and small plates with Pacific Rim and Mediterranean influences. I am actually quite impressed with the food and drink here. The breakfast buffet is whatever but the servers are friendly and helpful. The lunch and dinner were prepared with the level of sophistication that surprised me. Very tasty. Love the steak, lobster mac n cheese, salmon salad, poke with rice balls, actually, pretty much everything we've tried. Good wine, beer, and liquor selection at the bar was a plus. The lady helping us at dinner is lovely even though there were some small hiccups along the way, I would go back anytime if I am staying in the area again. They have some awesome specials at 90 Pacifica. I work down the street from the DoubleTree in Irvine and this was my first time dining there. 90 Pacifica is their main restaurant just past the bar. On Mondays, they have a $15 burger special that includes fries and your choice of beer on tap. That same burger is on the menu for $16 but doesn't come with beer so it's a good deal on Mondays. There is a seasonal $20 special that changes quarterly. When I went, the special was swordfish with roasted vegetables and a glass of wine. Last month it was the seared filet mignonette. It wasn't very busy when we went for lunch and our server took our orders after we seated ourselves. The alcohol came out first. The food took a while to come out but it was definitely made to order. Once out, it was pretty good. I was happy with my meal and so was my friend. I can't believe it took us so long to check out 90 Pacifica but I'm definitely glad I did. Hopefully, I'll be back soon. The bar tender on shift was Jose, he was all by himself in this madness but ensured to greet me as soon as I walked up. Fatigued because of a 4AM wake up to catch an early plane, we walked into 90 Pacifica Restaurant, Irvine, CA, in the Double Tree Hilton, enticed by Chef Scott's special of "Seared Filet Mignonette with Organic Mushroom Risotto, Grilled Vegetables, and Onion Fritters with a glass of Trinidad Cellars Petite Sirah." Definitely unassuming hidden gem as it is inside the Doubletree hotel and therefore, mostly caters to those traveling for business. My sister and I came here on a Friday night as it is walking distance from her place and wanted to try something different from the Spectrum center. SERVICE: Amazing!! This might have had something to do with us being the only patrons there at first, but the bartender was incredibly friendly and chatty when seating and waiting on us, the chef came out several times to check on us and even offered us warm chocolate chip cookies on the house for dessert. AMBIENCE: We were the only people around 7pm in mid-November, so it was quiet at first. Very nice inside and by the time we left the bar had filled up. FOOD: Delicious, flavorful and creative. We had the two chef's specials which were $20 and included a glass of wine with the main dish! One was salmon with cauliflower puree and roasted whole cauliflower, and the other was a generous ribeye with truffle fries. Delicious, great service, and good value (especially for the area). The place to be if you want to be forced into having uncomfortable political conversations with a bartender with extreme political views. As a frequent visitor at the DoubleTree the 90 Pacifica bar and restaurant is my defacto place to eat when I don't wish to leave the hotel after long travel. The food has never been great, but it's right inside the hotel so it works. Things like the cook on the burger not being as requested, tortillas for the fish tacos being close to deep fried and lavash bread (served with hummus) being crispy like a chip are my typically gripes but I ignore it for the conveniences of proximity this restaurant offers. Unfortunately, my last experience has left me wanting to never return. As is typical for a weeknight, the bar was packed with the usual business travellers. One such gentleman grabs a seat at the bar and somehow manages to step into a comment about the liberal city he hails from. He jokes about it and moves on but the bartender decides to continue on. Clearly, the death of an Arizona senator in the week prior and the snubbing of her favorite president and past vice-presidential candidate from the hands of the senator's family had gotten her riled. The gentleman again tries to politely push back and distract himself with his phone but there's no escaping the punishment that is America's political climate. The bartender needed an audience and seeing as everyone else (myself included) had managed to engross themselves into other conversations or move away from the bar, she piles onto this poor unsuspecting sucker who had just begun his drink & meal. What followed next was a barrage of conspiracy theories - fake news, fascist violence, pedophilia claims, etc. Her co-workers noticed the disturbance the bartender was causing and tried to get her to move onto other chores but no sir. She did not take the bait, chastised them in front of customers and went on to talk about immigration (perhaps unrelated but her co-workers were mostly hispanic). The gentleman at the bar decided to eventually finish his drink back in his room. My party and I escaped soon after to grab the shuttle to a different bar, swearing never to return. This post is not about taking political sides. It's about professionalism and the decency to skip discussions of extreme political ideology in a service setting. Everyone's entitled to their own views but a service staff dragging an entire bar into extreme political debate has some serious risks that a business may want to ponder on. read more

Couple of things that made me not like the place as much as I should have: - It is not very clear where the restaurant is. We waited by the host/hostess stand in front of the 90 Pacifica wall sign for a couple of minutes before we realize nobody was coming. We thought the bartender would be our server, but she only works the bar and you had to walk into an extra room in the back for the dining part of 90 Pacifica. - The service was meh at best. He did a great job filling up water, but in recommending food, he didn't seem to know what was best. Wasn't as attentive as I'd like when we were trying to get the check - with only 1 other guest in the restaurant. Otherwise, the food was pretty good. The lobster mac n cheese was good, but obviously could've offered a little bit more meat. The seared ahi tuna was nice, but could have been chilled a little bit. Ours were definitely room temperature, which to me is a little strange. Was decent and did redeem the 20% checkin from Yelp. Other than that, there doesn't seem to be a need to come back. read more

Food ended up being very tasty and not what you would normally expect in a hotel lobby. Bartender mixed us some great drinks so that definitely made it a better dinner. The fact that I made a reservation for 2 at 8pm, walked in at 7:45pm, WAS NOT greeted or welcomed by hotel OR restaurant staff & had to find out MYSELF that the dining room was CLOSED, made me really upset & disappointed! I walked up to the front desk & spoke to an employee... She apologized and said "you can have dinner at the bar- if you're 21." My boyfriend is, and I am not. Therefore, we left. I checked in to the DoubleTree for work and just needed a quick bite before going to bed. I wasn't expecting much from the lobby bar/restaurant, but I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised! I felt like I needed to eat healthy so I had the grilled salmon salad. I was beginning to regret my decision as I saw some pasta dishes come out, but the salad turned out to be great. I told the bartender that I especially liked the candied nuts and he told me that if I went back and got the same salad, I should ask for extra candied nuts and the chef would be happy to oblige. I have been staying at the Hilton and stopped into 90 Pacifica and all I can say is Deanna is amazing!!! She is supper attentive and made me want to come back night after night for my entire stay. She makes an amazing cocktail and really made me feel at home. Unfortunately tonight was her night off and Desi was behind the bar. At exactly 10 he came to tell us it was last call so we ordered outlets last cocktail and figured we would be able to enjoy it this was not the case no sooner were we enjoying it when Desi came over to tell us as well as the table next to us that we had to go so he could clean up and go home. If this had been my first experience here I would never have come back. The restaurant really needs to rethink who they hire. They need more associates like Deanna! read more
