Awesome place for a couple of beers and a view of the city! I make the great pilgrimage here every so often to grab a few beers on tap (which there are tons of) and sink in that beautiful view of Jersey City. Beers - (4/5) - 902 has a lot of beers in rotation, and they always have new ones circulating every so often. When you walk into the main room, you'll see this huge wall of plates of different beers. If you're a fan of IPAs or lagers, they got a bunch to try from. They also do 5oz flights as well, so start being adventurous. Service - (5/5) - Service has always been good, and I don't think I ever had a bad interaction with any of the staff. On busy days, they got 2 bartenders working, so lines aren't too bad. Venue - (5/5) - This place is huge!! The venue has a huge main bar room with several tables and seats (also placed next to their fermenters). You can access their rooftop spot which has a great view of Jersey City and NYC. There are a couple of tables upstairs (however no rooftop bars, so be careful when you're carrying beers up the stairs). If you're thinking of driving here, there are at least 10+ parking spots attached to the building, else you can do street parking (which isn't usually busy). read more

Had an awesome time at 902 Brewing last night! We live close by and decided to finally check it out. It just so happens that there was a comedy jam event happening. We decided to stay and bought tickets at the door (they were $35 each). The show didn't start exactly on time but we barely noticed as we were enjoying the nice selection of beers and exploring the vendor stations. There is no food served but they had an interesting food truck outside we didn't get to try unfortunately. The show was great! The comedians and host were hilarious. The staff were very nice and moved quickly through the sea of people ordering at the bar. Excited to return! We discovered they have an event calendar on their website and if you ask me what best part is about this place besides the beer? They allow dogs!! Our fur baby also enjoyed the comedy show with us. Yay for breweries! I came here for the first time about 3 weeks ago and really enjoyed myself. I can always appreciate when employees are knowledgeable about the beer they're offering especially when you know your palate and they can make a recommendation based off of what you've enjoyed in the past. Shout out to the woman who was tending to us, she definitely knew what she was doing. I wish I remembered her name. Overall, the beers here were ok. I have had better beer flights. I don't think there was one I really wanted a second glass of. It would be great if they added hoppy beers to their selections. They do have IPAs, but most were very light and weren't giving you that oomf that a hoppy thick beer would give you. They have games on a table for you to grab and enjoy while beer tasting. Excellent Brewery to stop by in JC! It has plenty indoor and outdoor seating area. From rooftop seating area, you can definitely get a good view of NY city. They do not serve food like most of the brewery but you are more than welcome to bring your own food. The layout of then building is very large so definitely can social distance and enjoy! There are also plenty of beer selection to choose from and bartenders are open to giving small portion for customer to taste before buying the whole glass. On a Saturday afternoon, my girlfriend and I came out to visit this brewery. We had never been here before; however we have had their beers before from past events such as NJ craft brew festivals and JC midnight markets. Upon arriving, we were able to find street parking outside with no problems. We really enjoyed the overall outside look of the building. I liked how you can pick to sit wherever you want and a server will take your order. There are 3 different seating sections. Outside seating, inside seating, and rooftop seating. We chose to sit inside, as it was cold outside and they had sport games on their TVs. My girlfriend ordered a beer flight, with different IPAs and spiked seltzer. I tried 2 different 10oz beers (1 stout and 1 double ipa). Overall we really like all of the beers here. Not only do they taste great, but they have some cool names. I ordered another round of some beers too, trying a larger glass of my favorite ipa in the flight. And you can order 4 packs of beers to go too. This is a cool spot to chill with some friends and enjoy delicious beers! read more

I visited 902 recently with some friends and we had a really great time. The space is large and open with plenty of room for social distancing. They have a lengthy tap list with options for everyone, including seltzer for the non-beer drinking friends. My favorite was the Kiwi Krush NZ style IPA. They also had a Shamrock Shake inspired beer but I didn't love the flavor profile on that brew. Overall I enjoyed the beer and will likely return. read more

Easy to get to in JC with plenty of parking and a great menu of rotating beers. You can get tasting flights or different sized glasses of beer and there is usually a food truck outside. They have TVs playing the big games so you can watch while you drink. The location is dog friendly and kid friendly which makes it a nice family outing spot. They have games as well! read more

First time in JC in awhile so I had not heard about 902 Brewing. A self-proclaimed beer snob, I'm on a quest to try all breweries in New Jersey. Swung by 902 and immediately liked the vibe. Converted warehouse but the interior still somehow felt homey, I was struck by a solid assortment of beers. Some breweries specialize and don't have many varieties. 902 had plenty. The tropical IPA alone was worth the visit, striking a nuanced balance of backend sweetness, full body, hazy character and strong hoo aroma. Will definitely head to 902 next time in town. read more

Honestly not even sure what to say about tonight. All I know is the minute I got out of the car I knew this couple there was already going to be a problem. I heard the female say "they better not be coming up here" and pulled her dog away from ours as we entered through the front. We assumed the dog was not friendly and was possibly aggressive so we said ok that's probably why she's pulling her dog away. No problem that's a responsible person. We were wrong!! We got a round of drinks and sat down outside. My friend let one of the dogs off the leash. Even tho she has great recall we didn't put up a fight when the bartender asked us to leash the dog up. The problem started tho when the female from earlier started yelling at us about the dog and saying she'd call the cops and shit. Then her complaining to the bartender a bunch of times is when he told us to leash up which again we did and was fine. We were enjoying the rest of the night while this female continued to stare at us. Giving us dirty looks and you could tell she was talking about us but we said nothing until she decided to say out loud towards us "oh he's so vicious!!!" Which we then asked the bartender if her could please talk to her since it was super uncalled for. This is the part now as a bar life employee I am extremely disappointed in how the employees of the bar handled the situation. As I mentioned this female and her male counterpart continued to stare at us. When I went to close the male stared at me and then looked away. My friend went up and he smiled at her so we thought ok water under the bridge finally maybe he will talk some sense into the female. Nope.... As they were walking out the door she said something to us with a disgusting look on her face. My friend flipped her off (no shouldn't have done it, but it happened), and the male got up to his face basically touching him and started wanting to fight. Everyone in the bar was telling the bartenders to remove the couple and all the bartenders said was they can't because they were here every day (aka they are regulars). Like I said as a bar life employee (a manager at that) I was extremely upset with those words. I had an issue with some regulars at my bar one night and you bet your ass they were removed and scolded. Explaining how they put the bar in a hard place and put a tarnish mark on the bar name which I believe is exactly what this couple did to 902 brewing. I completely understand the cops being called as there was almost an all out brawl and there are no bouncers, but when the bartender said he couldn't remove them because they were regulars is when the entire bar got upset and pretty much took our side. We had been there for a few hours and became friendly with multiple tables all loving on our dogs who were yelling at the couple to leave because they were causing the issues. I don't think I can recommend this place as a place to visit if the bar is going to back up regulars that are causing problems. Yes we were in the wrong with dog off the leash and yes with flipping the female off, but their actions were way worse and caused an unnecessary escalation of the situation. read more

Updating my review based on going here Friday night and enjoying the taproom. All the staff had masks on and their location is so big it's easy to social distance. The live music on the roof was great--fresh air and not too crowded. Beers are spot on and I think they rival long established breweries like other half and single cut (yes I said that and stand by it). Very chill and friendly atmosphere--like a neighborhood spot, no out of town bro's looking to get trashed and be a mess like you see at the local beer gardens. Yes you feel like you're in the middle of nowhere but that area is really picking up once al the environmental cleanup gets done. Also, had a few questions before we went and the management responding via email right away. We ordered takeout because they don't serve food. read more

This brewery has potential but I wish they did a better job of keeping the place clean and orderly throughout. We were some of the first people in there on our recent visit. Tables felt grimy and wobbly. Speakers just sitting on chairs. Stuff all over the place in the brewing section. Also smelled kind of funny throughout. I realize some people might like the raw "workshop" vibe, I usually do too, but it was kind of off-putting and clouded how I felt about the quality of their beer. It's like that old saying about hiring a contractor - if you want to understand the quality of the contractor's work, start by looking at how clean and organized their truck is. The space is very large. My fiancé and I went before it became colder out, so we sat outside. However, I'm sure that even through the winter, there will be enough space to enjoy comfortably during COVID. They had a great selection of beer, different ounce sizes and you could choose a flight as well. We went on a Friday, and there was a band playing outside. It became a bit colder as it got later, so we migrated inside. They have a selection of games to choose from, like most breweries! The space was a little crowded for a pandemic. As soon as I walked in, there were dogs and people just lining the entrance that we had to go through to get to the front for our drinks. Then when we got to the bar, one bartender who was short and had blonde hair ( I beleive ) was very rude. She was talking to the man I was with instead of speaking to me, wouldnt look me in my eye and it was a very awkward experience. Overall, the environment was pretty dry and definitely not all inclusive. Mostly white people and country music with uppity staff. read more
