Updating my review from below, 4 months ago. I have been coming here now every 3 weeks for 4 months for dip nails or a shellac pedicure. Unfortunately, after today, my friend and I won't return. The last few visits have been less than enjoyable. They seem rushed and you get shuffled around. Two different people worked on my nails throughout the time there. They would just get up and walk away and go work on someone else, no comment that someone else would be right with me or anything. We always make an appointment when we go in and it's just...not enjoyable anymore. My nails look nice but I truly felt like they were just too busy to take care of clients today. read more

Ok...first rule- never trust a salon named 90's Nails when it's 2019. That was my first mistake. I broke a nail while on vacation (God forbid) and if you know me then you know that I take pride in my nails so I was desperate enough to Yelp a nail salon closest to where I was that weekend instead of waiting to go to my usual faithful spot. Desperate times call for desperate measures. Unfortunately, 90's Nails gave me all the red flags BUT since it had pretty good reviews...I stayed... Disclaimer: I got the powder dip nails done- they ended up being terrible- but maybe their other services are what qualify them for a good rating. Meh- who knows! The process was sloppy, odd, and messy. I had a bad feeling about it when she did 3 coats on one nail, 4 coats on another nail, and two coats on another nail. It seemed very inconsistent- I kept thinking..."There's no way she's doing this right!" Overall- the end result was actually pretty good- beautiful! BUT I noticed (probably because of the inconsistent coats and process) it didn't last long AT ALL. When I get dip it usually last 3-5 weeks. Their dip manicure lasted less than 2 weeks. That being said, I wouldn't come back and thank God I don't need to! read more

I went a few times for the exact same thing and was charged 3 different prices! Not happy about that at all. One woman does amazing work.

This place was pretty average when it comes to the building and such. But my pedi was really good. The last made are to dig out all of my potential in grown toenails and my eyebrow wax was really nice. Except for the fact that my wax job was in, what looked like a closet, I'd rate this a decent place to visit for your pedicure and eyebrow wax. read more

Horrible, I came in for a fill in and shellac midweek and by the weekend my nails were lifting and the paint was peeling. I have NEVER seen shellac peel before. I went back and was charged for the mails that had completely lifted off and the lady only polished 4 fingers instead of fixing them all. I rarely do reviews. This time I decided to just run up to 90's nails. I got a Shellac and a pedicure. NEVER AGAIN! After 2 days, my index just peeled off. I could tell it was going to happen too. It was all over my cuticle. I went back and they redid it. Only the lady that originally did it was busy and had the man do it that is still in training. She ended up coming and doing it. Then today, I am just sitting here, and the ring finger peels off I am disgusted and put off. And the place was really clean. I will not go to 90's nails. My pedicure was rough. I had to redo some areas. My feet were not that bad to start with. Don't waste your money here. read more

I spent $60 on a fullset, not even a week later and the nails have started to come off. I've been getting my nails done for years and never has it been easier for these nails to come off. It hasn't been a week! The lady who did my nails was not very friendly. I was the only one in the salon and she seems bothered that I was there. She used a file to shape each nail, what seemed like an hour. She put in a lot of effort and hardly used the drill. I tipped her well. After maybe a 15 minute wait I was surprised by the service. I asked for a manicure and pedicure and total time was about 1.5 hours (with the wait). My pedicure was near perfect, the woman cut my big toe nail a bit too short and it hurts a little. Other than that the experience was fine. The only thing is that this place is actually from the 90s and just about nothing in the place has been updated since then. Everything about it is old, the chairs, the décor, and pretty dirty flooring. Overall good experience for the price and outcome. Don't always judge the book by it's cover. read more

Do not go to this place if you want a pedicure. First of all ignore the price sign, the price truly depends on how the owner feels that day. The pedicure I got was $27 on the sign but I paid $35 plus 15 for the terrible shellac so $50 in total. The $35 included hot stone massage, scrub exfoliate and other amenities which I didn't get with my experience. My toes are uneven and the shellac is bumpy. I only expect my toes to last a week and I prefer that because I want no memory of this establishment on my body. When getting a pedicure you expect them to massage your legs and feet. The lady only rubbed my legs for a a total 2 minutes. I watched the clock go from 3:42-3:44. My friend was with me and he got his toes done too. His toes were cut terribly and he didn't even get a top coat of clear nail polish. He was charged $35 for disappointment. This place was so bad I would recommend to my enemies so they can have a truly bad experience. read more

It was my first time at 90s nails I had heard good things about it from a friend so I wanted to check it out. I was tried of paying top dollar for my shellac only for it to come off after a week. I was services by Tim, he is very friendly, he did a great job on my pedi and my shellac mani the cost was $62. Awesome massage on the hands and feet.. And who doesn't like a foot scrub and a hot towel after walking in heels for work!! He apologized for the wait but I didn't mind since we didn't have an appointment and it being the start to a holiday weekend. He let me know that they have a 1 week Guarantee if your polish or shellac clips you can come back and they will fix it for free! Now that's good business! They have a nice selection for shellac and the regular polish it about average, I went with an opi color for my toes! The inside isn't anything fancy but it is clean and they have a few big TVs to watch while getting your nails done. I will come back and would recommend this place if you are in the novi area! read more

I had a horrible pedicure today by the high-school aged daughter of the owners. I doubt if she has a license and I will be filing a complaint with the State tomorrow. She used instruments that I don't think were sterilized and rubbed one of my toes so hard it took 1/2 " of skin off. I complained to her several times and should have left. I will never go back and caution anyone who is thinking about going here. K&T Nails down the street is much better. read more

I went to 90's nails years ago. I stopped going because the prices were way above other salons in the area. I would normally get gels for $40. Recently, within the past 4 months, I have rediscovered 90's nails and I'm in love! This place has transitioned into new ownership and I just absolutely love the new owner. I get shellac every few weeks and all the girls take their time, meticulously cleaning my cuticles and placing the shellac so it won't lift. And at $30, it is pretty standard with other salons. I'm glad I consulted Yelp before heading to this great salon! I got a manicure and pedicure for my birthday at the end of September. It has been six weeks since I got a gel manicure, and my pinky nail is still completely intact! (I picked at all the other ones... and even then they were a struggle to get off). My toenails, of course, are still a bright beautiful purple, but from experience toenail polish stays on forever. The day before my best friend's wedding last week, she wanted to get her nails done with her family and myself (there were 5 of us total). We called and made an appointment for 9:30am on Friday Oct 23rd so that all of us could get our nails done together (the idea being that we would all get them done at the same time). Three of us separately spoke to someone at 90s Nails and they each confirmed the 9:30am appointment. Well, we all show up at 9:30am that Friday only to find that they did not open until 10am and nobody was even there. Two employees show up there at 9:45am. When we walk in they ask what we were there for, and we told them all FIVE of us had appointments for manis and pedis at 9:30am. They said nothing, but appeared to have no appointment book or list, and no knowledge of us coming. The two ladies got to work on the bride's mom and aunt around 10am while the bride, her sister, and myself sat there and waited. We were told that two other employees had been called in and would be there "soon". Only one other person showed up to work. TWO AND A HALF HOURS LATER we were finally all done with our nails. The ladies rushed through myself and the bride (we were the last two to get done). The lady that did my nails shaped them weird too. We were given a 10% discount on our services, but I am still not at all happy with the service we received. We made appointments for a reason, and it did not seem to matter. I would never recommend this place to anyone, and I've made sure to tell my friends about our experience so they know not to go here either. read more

The first time I went to this place I thought the gentleman did a nice job on my nails. I went to go get a fill and it looked like crap. I asked them to fix it and they wanted to charge me more! They made my nails different sizes on my fingers, and didn't cover my real nail part with the entire white polish (French acrylic nails). They said to cover the whole thing it will cost me more. When I tried to talking to them about how unhappy I was the guy rolled his eyes at me and said nothing he could do, just the way it is. I said I will go somewhere else then and they said okay. I'm a big fan of 90s nails. All of their nail techs are really good. If you show them a picture of how you want your nails (shape) they are always spot on!!! The prices are very good also. One of my favorite nail places in Novi. Don't go in there excepting am awesome atmosphere though. I mean, it's called 90s nails for a reason. BUT that won't stop me from going there because they always do a great job. read more
