I went to my local car wash in San Clemente, and while I was waiting to be checked in, JD approached me and asked if I knew I had a crack in my window. I got a crack in my winshield, about 3 inches across and contacted a local repair to fix it. They would not do it because it was more than a quarter sized crack. So I contacted 911 winshield repair. They came the next day on time and laid out the risks and what can be expected (it was a pretty big crack but I rather try it before buying a new winshield). The work was done in about 15min or so. You know when you are driving and something hits your window and you loudly exclaim, "that's gonna leave a mark!" Well that happened! Then I called 911 Windshield Repair & Replacement and JD came to my house to fix the chip, which turned out to be caked on dirt and not a chip at all. He was so nice and didn't make me feel like an idiot for not trying to scrape it off. JD drove out to repair my windshield on my Subaru Forester, and I was very nervous from all the horror stories about these windshields that I was in for a big problem. Turns out, as JD informed me, my issue was only superficial, just a visual chip and not something major. He actually recommended NOT doing anything with it, that repairing isn't necessary, it would just be a visual improvement of an imperfection. A rock struck my windshield and put a BB-size divot with spider cracks about the size of a nickel in my windshield. I had to get my windshield replaced because it had a crack that was too long for a repair and the windshield replacement company my insurance company wanted me to go to would not install an OEM windshield in my 2019 Pilot unless I paid the difference. Since my vehicle is less than 3 years old I wanted an OEM windshield so I reached out to different windshield replacement services and JD was the only one who was able to get insurance to approve an OEM windshield replacement. While it took a while to get the windshield, because of Covid shortages, JD kept me up to date on the progress and even rejected a windshield from Honda because the quality was not up to par. Now that is attention to detail! His business partner Edgar expertly installed the windshield and calibrated the camera and my car looks brand new again.
