Now, I've been in the serving industry I know it's been a while but if someone orders a bottle of wine, I will always give them their wine service. that's means presenting the wine and allowing them to taste the wine. our server just put the bottle down and left. I thought she had to grab a drink at the bar for someone in our party but nope, she just left. I gave it a minute until I realize she was not going to pour our wine for us. that was the first time that has ever happened. if someone orders a bottle, make the time to pour their first glass. that's was rude. read more

The prices seem reasonable based on the location and the menu selection, but proteins were overcooked, sauces were missing, and flavors weren't there. The servers were nice, but not technically good (each wine glass varying pours / had to ask for silverware several times). Upscale Western themed restaurant in The Drover Hotel in Ft Worth, TX. Ambiance is straight out of Yellowstone. Like rich rancher fancy instead of country chic. Place was full on Friday night but seated quickly with reservation. Wife got chicken fried NY Strip and I got carpet bagger steak. This was a creative combo of filet and fried oysters in a spicy red sauce. Food was very flavorful and cooked perfectly. Only flaw was both our sides were at best lukewarm and my oysters were not hot. Good flavor just maybe not the best timing on plating. This is an absolutely beautiful location. We were in the area visiting earlier in the day to see the cattle and decided to make a reservation for that evening. At the time it was emoty, which allowed us to see the layout better. We came back for a 745p reservation and it was packed. Very gorgeous with all of the lighting. We opted to sit outside on the patio as the weather was amazing. I started with the cauliflower soup and The Bluebonnet, which is like a blueberry lemon drop. I enjoyed both so much. WILD MUSHROOM PAPPARDELLE PASTA as my entree was a great choice. Perfect portion size and freshly prepared. We sat and laughed as bikers rode by on the trail near the creek. We had a large birthday party at 15 people we sat outside on the patio, which was awesome. We only had one server and she was overwhelmed with all the other tables she had to wait on. I ordered the fillet medium rare, which it was done just as I had ordered very tender you could cut it with the butter knife . Then finally someone arrived with our steak knife. The potatoes were terrible. They were overcooked and black. Our server never came back to check to make sure everything was the way we wanted. Ambiance is very western. The location is in the heart of the stockyards-- perfect if you're visiting Ft. Worth. The Hotel 97 West is located in is the Dover Hotel and is absolutely amazing. The restaurant was really nice. The decor was very western, but not overly so. It's still very welcoming to everyone. I had a margarita on the rocks, and I was very happy. It was very good. For my appetizer, I had the chilled shrimp tostadas. I highly recommend them. There were three nice sized tostadas in the order with quite a bit of shrimp on each crispy tortilla. I got the chicken fried chicken for my entree, and all I can say is get it!!!! The portion was so large. Large enough to have some to take home. The smoked sausage gravy was my favorite. In reference to the service, it was very good. Our waiter, Jackson, was extremely attentive and able to answer all of our questions about the menu. I went here for a friends birthday dinner one Saturday night. They had a reservation and we still had to wait a little bit before we were seated. The place is super loud and the chairs were too narrow for me to sit in comfortably. Luckily one of the girls switched with me in the booth part. We shared a few different appetizers, BLT Deviled Eggs $14.00 for 6, Shishito Pepper Crab Dip $19.00 and the El Classico $15.00 which is basically queso, guac and salsa. The deviled eggs were okay, nothing special and definitely not worth the price. The crab dip was pretty good but again, the price for what you are getting is off. I thought both the queso a guac tasted good but also on the pricier side for what you were getting. For my entrée, I got the 18oz Bone-In Ribeye 30 day dry-aged $60.00 cooked medium rare. This was pretty good and cooked correctly. Our table had multiple other issues with steak temps though.2 were extremely over and 2 were extremely under, like rare still. They fixed these but 1 of the remakes was still wrong and they did give her a to go order with the right temp steak but she basically did not eat cause everyone was done by the time she finally got her last fixed order. I did get to try their ribs from someone else and was glad I didn't get those as they were dry and kind of tough instead of tender. They gave us a few desserts to make up for the issues which was nice. The service was pretty good through out, never had an empty water but the cocktail drinks were quite slow to come out. I am assuming the bar was having a hard time keeping up. Overall it was not bad but definitely not good for the price. read more

Our company held our 25th anniversary dinner here and it was lovely. Since we were a large group we had to order off of a fixed menu, but everything was wonderful. The fried green tomatoes were some of the best I have had. The ceviche was very good, but had a little too much pickled red onion on top. The guacamole though was wow. The cesar salad was lovely. Of the three available entrees, I ordered the salmon. Salmon can be very boring, but this was so tasty, I want to know what's in that rub! Dessert was carrot cake which isn't my favorite, but I had a bite and it was probably the best I've had. I ended up bringing it back to my son, and he demolished it. I definitely plan on going back and trying the antelope. It's one of the few meats I have yet to try. Also big shout out to our server, Hailey. She is as awesome as other reviews claim. There were a few hiccups due to newly trained food runners, but she was very attentive and quick to fix their missteps. Usually with a group this large they have 2 servers attending, but she did it all herself (besides the runners) and no one was left wanting or waiting. We had several drinks, the Seasonal Pecan Old Fashioned was good, a little too sweet for my taste but their regular Old Fashioned was spot on. We got the Brunch Burger and the Chicken n Biscuits. Both were very good, however the burger was more on the med. rare side than med. The Chicken n Biscuits were very good, would definitely get again next time. We ate here on our recent trip to Fort Worth, my friends got engaged before our reservation & upon booking I requested that there be champagne and four glasses at our table upon our arrival in celebration for the engagement that I knew was going to take place that day and they had just that!! Made our way to the lobby bar where the wait line was 15 people long and the male bartender acted like we were there to make his life miserable. Caitlyn the waitress was friendly but service was slow. We had to get another waitress to bring us a bottle of wine we'd requested 30 minutes earlier. Best part of dinner was the appetizers. Terrible experience! We had dinner this past Sunday. We ordered 2 strip steaks medium rare. After waiting 45 minutes we were served 2 raw rib steaks. We sent them back. 20 minutes later, strip steaks arrived. They were medium rare. However, the quality and taste of the meat was not up to what we expected. The steaks were about 3/4 inch high and were no better than a choice grade from a super market. Not what you expect from a Fort Worth Stockyards restaurant charging $60+ for steaks. I'm giving the restaurant decor and the hotel atmosphere 4 stars. But if it was just the restaurant it would probably be 3 stars. We started with the brussels sprouts which have a great flavor, but they are cooked all wrong. The pieces are too big and extremely tough to eat once you get past the outside flaky layer. They should be cut in smaller pieces or cooked longer to be more tender. Two of us got the cap steak salad, which is such a great idea for women who need a smaller plate. Yes the meat on top was ribeye, but it was not CAP Steak. Extremely tough , gristly and hard to chew. Caps steak should be extremely tender almost cuttable with a fork. If you want a good Vap Steak go to B&B butcher and get the Butchers Butter steak or Clay pigeon. These are the only other places in Fort Worth I know to get a good cap steak. If you know of another place send me a message. It's my favorite! Also beware that the salad is topped with red jalapeño peppers. These can be very spicy. read more

Visited the hotel to see the beautiful holiday decorations and decided to stay for lunch. It was still early and not too busy for our small party to be seated quickly. Rosa was attentive and friendly. We enjoyed the western theme of the dining area and spectacular view to the giant Christmas tree outside. The mahi taco was fresh and seasoned well as was the brisket taco. The slaw was delicious and had a nice zip with crisp red onion. My companion enjoyed his bbq rib platter and was pleasantly surprised with the smokey seasoning. We enjoyed our lunch, the ambiance including the open kitchen and friendly service. Such a wonderful, wonderful experience. The staff was friendly, efficient, and on top of everything. We went on a Saturday night when there was a large wedding party, multiple graduation parties, and prom goers and we still felt like a priority to our server. The decor is comfortable and aesthetically pleasing- people were dressed in everything from shorts to ball downs, yet it didn't feel like anyone was over/under dressed. It even smelled like old leather. We had the El Classico as an appetizer- the best salsa I've ever had. Our daughters rebooted the queso and guacamole as well. Very filling for our party of 5. For the entrees, we had the chicken fried steak (huge and well seasoned), antelope with cheese grits (my husband and I split it and I still couldn't finish my half), and the kid's cheeseburger with fries (great smoke and flavor). Not a single complaint on the food. We didn't have room for dessert, but had a Texas Two Step (strong!) and a Laverne Bee's Knees (great honey flavor).
