After going to a pub nearby in downtown Fort Worth for St. Patrick's Day, we stopped by here at The Social House for a late dinner. It was busy but there was more than enough seating. We sat at the bar. Our server took our order promptly. To start off, we got the fried pickles and skillet meatballs. I'd say both were pretty standard. Nothing overly spectacular but still pretty good! Maybe one critique was that the meatballs were a bit dry despite having plenty of sauce. For main, I got the Fish & Chips. Now, I don't know if The Social House has a particular dish that they are known for but if they had to choose one, it should easily be the Fish & Chips. The exerior was nice and flaky. The inside fish fillet was juicy and flavorful. There was a bit of separation between the two that I think really elevated the dish. Paired with the fries and malt aioli... I can confidently say that this was the best Fish & Chips I had ever had. All in all, would definitely recommend! read more

Stopped by for dinner with friends. The place was small but busy nonetheless. Our waitress was very attentive and kind. I ordered the artichoke dip as an appetizer and lets just say no leftovers on this one. The skillet helped kept our dip warm which I was grateful for because this particular dip was packed with cheese! For my main dish I ordered the blackened shrimp and grits and once again it was hard to stop eating. The shrimp was seasoned so well and quite Jumbo in size. St Patrick's Day and the Irish pub across the street was a one hour wait. It took about 15minutes to be seated. The nachos had no bite to it. No one liked them. The wings were spicy but not too hot. My son and I stopped by The Social House for dinner while in Fort Worth. The location is great--right on the corner with a patio that lets you take in the energy of the area while you eat. We chose the patio, and even though it was a little windy, it was still a nice vibe watching everything going on around us. Service was pleasant. We were seated quickly and it took about 5-10 minutes for someone to come over to take our order, which wasn't an issue. I ordered the Chicken Fried Chicken, described on the menu as: Chicken breast fried to golden brown perfection covered in scratch jalapeño gravy served with roasted garlic mashed potatoes and green beans. The chicken itself was actually very good--fried well, nicely seasoned, and the jalapeño gravy had good flavor. Unfortunately, the sides were a miss. The roasted garlic mashed potatoes came out cold, and the green beans were also cold and honestly just didn't taste good at all. I'm not sure how they were seasoned, but whatever was going on with those green beans just wasn't it. My son ordered the Mascarpone Chicken Pasta, described as: Sautéed wild mushrooms, shallots, pancetta, roasted garlic & mascarpone cream sauce. The problem was the sauce didn't resemble a rich mascarpone cream sauce. It was very thin and more like a diluted cheese sauce than the creamy texture you'd expect. We also ordered margaritas with swirls, and those were a bit suspect too. They didn't really taste like margaritas--and I know my margaritas. I did mention the cold food, but at that point I wasn't interested in a redo. Personally, I prefer when the plate comes out right the first time. The patio and location are definitely a plus, but based on this visit it's probably not a place I'd return to. The chicken fried chicken is amazing. Super crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. It pairs phenomenally well with the jalapeño gravy. It's just the right amount of spice without being too overwhelming. This is my second day in a row ordering this. Definitely a comfort food that makes you feel like you're wrapped in a warm blanket. The green beans and garlic mashed potatoes are also very good. I ordered a side salad which came with ranch, which was fresh and crisp. The Social House is a fun, casual restaurant. I went with some friends on a Saturday afternoon and had a good time. We were seated without a wait and our server came by almost immediately to take our drink order. He kept our drinks topped up the whole night without us having to ask which was really nice! The menu is expansive with lots of options to cater to everyone. I got one of the chicken pastas and enjoyed it. The portions were large and I had enough to take home. The restrooms were very clean. It can get loud in the restaurant, but the playlist was good and I was still able to hear people at my table. Left With a Full Plate and No Apology My husband and I stopped by Social House for a late dinner expecting a relaxed evening. While the fried onion strings were great, the service and management response left a lot to be desired. It started a little slow, which we understood because our server had two large tables (two 8-tops). That wasn't an issue for us restaurants get busy. However, the service never really improved. When she did come to the table, it often felt like she didn't want to be there. We ordered fried onion strings and drinks to start. The onion strings were actually really good and probably the highlight of the meal. For dinner, I ordered the Mascarpone Chicken Pasta with blackened chicken and my husband ordered the wings. When my food arrived, I asked if the chicken was blackened. The server said yes, then clarified that it was just a seasoning and not actually blackened chicken. I tried to eat the dish anyway, but it really wasn't good. There was barely any bacon or mushrooms in the pasta and the flavor just didn't work. The bigger issue was the service. After our food came out, our server never came back to check on us. By the time we were able to get her attention, my husband had already finished his meal. I let her know I didn't like the pasta and asked for the check. She simply removed the plate and brought the check back no apology and no offer to make it right. With the automatic 18% gratuity already included on the check, I expected at least a basic table check-in during the meal. I ended up asking to speak with a manager. Nicole, the manager, said she was aware of the situation but explained the kitchen had already closed so there wasn't much that could be done. What was disappointing was that the conversation turned into defending the server rather than acknowledging the experience we had at our table. Restaurants get busy and mistakes happen most guests understand that. But a quick check-in from the server or even a simple apology from management would have gone a long way. The onion strings were great, but unfortunately the service and management response overshadowed the entire experience. I'm sharing this feedback in hopes that management takes it seriously and improves communication with guests when issues arise. read more

The topping were good and the portion was generous. We ordered the fish and chips for dinner. I was happy to see the fries were actual potatoes and not extruded mashed potatoes. Some of my fries were over cooked and too crispy for me to eat. The fish was not good. Super greasy. The batter was soggy and very little fish inside . Like each piece was mostly hollow. The coleslaw was in a tiny little condiment cup. Literally the same size they brought the ketchup in. Social house first thing on a Sunday morning is not a bad idea if you are coming to watch a game, getting drinks, or socializing. This is my second time coming and the food isn't not great. The only things I LOVED was the friend pickles, the beignets were okay if you're not picky about beignets. If I had never had them, then the beignets would've been that good. The flatbread pizza was very average, I wasn't impressed. I had been craving it but I don't know why I wanted it to be something authentic. The service was really good though and our food and drinks came out very quickly. The location was very good but the only things that bothered me were the flies but it's not something the restaurant could really control but it was very annoying and distracting from conversation. Social House is a really nice establishment with a patio. We went on the 4th and babe got the BBQ hamburger, which he said was spicy but really good. He also got the onion ring thingys with sauce, and I can vouch, those were amazeballs. I got the spicy red sauce shrimp pasta. It was spicy, which I love, but it literally taste like a Supreme pizza with shrimp. I'd definitely try something else next time. We were given the brunch menu and the restaurant was clean but no one was maintaining the restrooms. Our waitress was welcoming and checked on us often. I ordered the chicken sandwich w/ sweet potato friends and a mimosas. The mimosa was great. The chicken sandwich was below average; I wanted mine blackened but it was grilled instead. They accommodated our large group very well. We had no problems with lost or incorrect orders. Servers didn't hover either. The margarita flight was crazy; we loved it! Imagine getting six baby margaritas of various flavors with your brunch! See--crazy! My jelly filled benigets were a major disappointment.  They were not filled--jelly syrup was drizzled over them instead. Disappointing! They also had a hard outer shell. My friend and I went here before we went to a rug tufting class, figured we should eat somewhere close by. The restaurant is on a neat little intersection, it's very cool to walk by. The food was okay, my tuna avocado toast was pretty bland, it didn't taste like it had any of the ponzu sauce mentioned on it. My friend's waffles were way better, but it's hard to mess up waffles I feel like. Service was interesting, because I want to be upset about how long it took for our server to bring us the check but it also seemed like she was incredibly busy. That, and her unruly table of six obnoxious adults sitting next to us were probably being AWFUL to her. I watched one of them throw up on the table and the other five people doing absolutely nothing.
