I would avoid this place like the plague. I wish I would've read the reviews on here first. I brought my truck in for an oil leak and they said they tightened up some loose bolts and it fixed the issue, well 1 week and over 600 dollars later it's still leaking the same amount in they same spot. They said I could bring it back and have them look at it again but honestly I don't trust them at this point and not sure they even actually looked under the truck when I originally brought it in. read more

they came highly recommended by O'Reilly stores nearby. they kept my cat for 2 days before they "diagnosed" it and wouldn't work on it. we told them 3 different times the issues and then when we picked it up they said "that's the first time I've heard that issue". and yes, same and only guy we talked to (Cody). they did not ask for consent to add Freon and charged us for it and labor. obviously not fixing the issue we brought it in for. very disappointed. it's hard to find good help. read more

These folks are very dependable and competitively priced. The place doesn't look like much from the outside, but don't judge a book by its cover. They're old school straight shooters, who will be honest with you about your problem(s) and not attempt to swindle or upsell you. AVOID! I paid for a full A/C system replacement. The cold air never lasted more than a week. I had to bring it back 3 times. If I did not know as much as I do about cars I would have been ripped off. They were putting all the old seals back in and keeping the new parts. Now, less than two months later, there is no cold air coming out of the vents again. They are saying it is not related to the A/C. This place should be out of business. The owner has no clue what is going on and the manager, a guy named Mike, is great at telling you what you want to hear, not what is true. I regret supporting this local business. read more

My 2008 Chevy truck lost its AC. A check engine light came on as well. A1 immediately diagnosed and fixed the check engine light. The AC was much more difficult. My check engine light came on on a Thursday morning going to work being new to Georgetown I tried to find a place to look at my car and get me on the road by Friday (had to be at the Astros game by 7:10 Friday) and these guys kept my car over night and had me on the road that afternoon I missed the first inning but damn that's amazing. Horrible Horrible service do not recommend at all. 1. Mike is the guy who works on the cars. I took my car in for making noises he claimed he fixed the issue. within 1 day my car was making noises again so I took it back plus asked him to fix my ac. He kept my car never called me back to let me know it was ready, therefor I had to call. He claimed he left me messages and that it was my fault it took so long to get my car. I had not 1 single missed call or message from him. So when I went in to let him know I hadn't received any messages he called me a liar and said he did. I proceeded to let him know that the only message I received from him was from the previous time he had my car. He then angrily told me to just take my car and not return. I said gladly. He supposedly fixed my AC and gave me a new power steering hose and pump. Within a couple weeks my ac was broken, and now my power steering is leaking again. I called back to let him know, and now he is saying I refused to pay when I never refused to pay. I spent 800$ on bullshit ass work, and all I did was let him know I never received any voicemails from him. I never refused to pay. He told me to just leave and not return, but seeing as you fixed my car and I spent that money why is my car still messed up? I wanted answers. He spoke over me when I reminded him I never refused to pay him, but that he told me to just leave and not come back. He changed the story around by saying I refused to pay. He said he wouldn't look at my car because I refused to pay, and hung up on me. Now that's fine because I didn't want him to work on my car. I thought I was speaking to a different man, but apparently he's the guy in charge. So with that being said. The man is a liar and trash at fixing cars. I do not recommend, and if there was someone else I could report him to I would. There is no point to complain to the owner because like mike says "the owner is on my side" when the owner doesn't even know what happened. For my 2006 Ford Expedition XLT 4 X 4 , they diagnosed the AC problem wrong, I had to pay for freon service for no reason, the problem was found out later by the dealership that it was a bad instrument cluster not giving the compressor the signal to kick in, everything they made me spend was a waste of my money I spent over $500 over there For no reason at all, on my friend's Mercedes, they diagnosed a bad blower, the problem was a melted AC Blower fuse because of a clogged cabin air filter read more

I love this place!!! My Family has been bringing their cars here for years. As a Family full of women who know nothing about cars, they have always been honest. They tell us what needs to be fixed and usually it's something minor and we get charged very little. While most auto repair shops could tell us anything and take advantage of our lack of automotive knowledge, they have never done so. There was even a case with my mom's car where they told us it was not worth fixing. The cost of the repair would have been more then the car was worth. I have a 2009 Dodge Durango and had to have the AC coil changed out which required a dash pull. Along the way another part went out which caused my air conditioner to constantly freeze up and the ice prevented the air from blowing. Of course Chrysler and Dodge offered their solution to fix the problem But after several tries it did not work. It was well documented on the Internet that this solution rarely if ever worked. I was left in a situation where my air conditioner was basically useless and there was no solution. It's kind of like when a doctor tells you that you'll have to live with a condition for the rest of your life. I was thankful that Greg at A1 automotive, because of his many many years of experience, was able to provide his own solution. His solution was something that he engineered himself that he was able to employ very quickly and for a minimal cost and it solve the un-fixable issue. Also on the rare occasion that I sought estimates for repairs from other shops, A1 Automotive always has the best prices. Their shop is not the prettiest and they don't offer you coffee and pastries but they take the savings and pass them onto you the customer and I really appreciate that . read more

Bad experience and will not use again. We live close to A1 Automotive and thought we'd give them a chance. I feel like they scammed us! We have a 2000 Toyota Tundra and had issues with the power steering. We spent over $1000 in Dec 2014 replacing the power steering. We drove the truck a day and had to go back. The hose was leaking fluid and it wasn't fixed properly. A1 fixed it for us. Less than 2 weeks later the power steering fluid in the truck was dry. We took the truck back to A1 yesterday and they first tried blaming us on the fluid we used. Are you kidding me? A1 filled up the power steering fluid to begin with. Now they are telling us the issue is a rack and pinion leak that will cost us another $1000. Honestly, this was probably the issue in the first place. Had A1 done a pressure test to begin with, they could have diagnosed the problem initially. I will never go back. read more

Upon recommendation from my step-dad, we brought our car there to get fixed. It was leaking oil out of the crank case seal. The gentleman who was taking care of us said I should have my timing belt replaced too while they have the crank case open. My car didn't have any issues with the timing belt but it sounded like a good idea so I agreed. The price quoted was fair, $650.00. A day later I got a call that the car was done and to come pick it up. I went there, paid my bill, and picked up the car. I made it 1/2 way home and it started overheating and it wasn't shifting right. It never overheated before, even when the oil was low, and it shifted fine before they worked on it. So i bring it back and they call me later that day. One of the parts was bad and needed replaced. When I came to pick up the car they tried to charge me $100.00 for the part and labor when it wasn't broken when i left it there the first time. I told the guy that it wasn't broken when i brought it in so he says ok and gives me my keys. It drove good and did not overheat for about a week and it started to not shift right. I parked it in the parking lot and my wife used it to go down the street to take my kid to school and back until we could raise the money to take it to the dealer to get it fixed correctly. Well after thinking about it a few months i decided to give A1 one more shot. I took it in and they called me back and said they know what the problem was finally. It was a crank case sensor of some kind. $130 for the part and $ 325 for labor. I called back and told them I have a problem with that (the labor not the part) and the guy takes $100 off my quote. They fixed the car and it works good now but the day my wife picked up the car I get a call from the owner...He starts the conversation " I'm really pissed off at you people"....then i interupt him and say "NO I'm pissed at you people!! I'm in almost $1000 for a oil leak!!! He tells me to never bring my car there again and hangs up on me!!! He won't have to worry about that!! I wouldn't have gave him any stars but i have to give him 1....don't do it!!! read more
