If you're looking for doors or trim and want customer service so bad it makes you want to walk straight into one, this is the place. I paid for my door over the phone and was told I'd be charged a daily rate if I didn't pick it up. But when I showed up an hour and a half before closing--with no one else there--they couldn't even find it. After waiting 30 minutes, I finally asked one of the five employees sitting at their desks doing nothing, and instead of helping, the woman blamed me for arriving, stating that this is what happens before we close. To top it off, they charge a credit card processing fee, because apparently, squeezing customers is easier than running a decent business. I shouldn't have been surprised. If you're considering shopping here, slam this door shut and go somewhere else. read more

I have been getting doors from A1 for the past eight years. As a contractor myself, I am obviously very happy with the doors and theService because it's pretty much the only place I get doors from. I see a lot of horrible reviews and I think what people might not realize is that this place is mostly for contractors and not necessarily for one off type customers looking for Exceptional service and handholding. So yeah, if you're looking for white glove service this likely isn't it is this is a go to place for every contractor I know. read more

My husband and I went in today to look at doors. We walked in and stood there for a moment and not one person acknowledged us. We went to look at doors and they didn't have a very good selection. Wandered upstairs since the signs said more employees were available and out of the 3-4 people there, not one bothered to say a word to us or even look at us. customer service is ok, though too busy and they made mistake and promised to call me back when they have an answer for me but never return the call until I call back and result in me and my exterior door contractor, interior paint contractor and exterior wall paint contractor all waiting for extra days and when I call back they said I did not give them delivery date so they are waiting for me, WTH... anyway one very funny question does all interior doors come like this? this is first time I order doors outside of homedepot, some other vendors doors are like this too? The side of the door are trimmed or cut off a layer and not primed plus lock hole is cut but no mortise is carved (they say because they don't know what is the shape of the mortise I want so that was not carved but the latch side door strike was carved though that make no sense), but the bare wood side really bothered me. I don't understand for what reason the doors are trimmed like that. Give 2 star due to price is good. otherwise 0 star read more

Customer service is lacking, but that's not why you're shopping at A1 Doors. Prices are great and they change all the time; even if you have a printed quote from a few days earlier. Example: $6.20 a foot went up to $9.50 a foot in a matter of days. They say that have them in stock, you come in and nope, it's still not in. The molding is a great deal! 17¢ a foot for 4"x1/2" in 16' lengths. Hey A1 Doors--how about taking a suggestion? Add a "take-a-number" system so you can help everyone in order. read more

I have worked with A1 doors in the past and usually have found them to be dependable, however this past project has been a complete disaster. Our order came with mistakes, mis- measurements, and missing doors - and they did all of the measurements on site. We have contacted them repeatedly and been told they will get it taken care of and the results have not materialized. I have contacted the owner and been promised a return phone call only to have the owner call the representative and have him call me instead, when that has been the core of the problem. The promises and follow up have been horrible and we are still waiting to resolve our missing items. In the meantime, our painter has completed all of the interior painting and will need to do more work to tend to these doors once they do finally arrive. Needless to see, this has been frustrating and unacceptable service. Perhaps posting this review will get the owner to call me ~ although I do not hold high hopes. Think twice about using A1. read more

Absolutely horrible staff. I have been trying to get a price for windows and doors since last 2 weeks and all I have gotten is run around. They asked me to talk to Mark 2 weeks ago and each time I called it went to voicemail, so I left him voicemail and emails and after a while he finally replied and provide me prices for on something I did not want. After further clarification, on Friday the 14th, he said that he'll get me the prices in the afternoon, but again nothing so I called and of course he didn't answer. I called back on Monday the 17th and they said that Mark went on vacation and had me talk to some other lady, and she said that she'll get back to me but has no estimated time on when that day, but again no reply. Today, I called the store again and asked to talk to the owner and they hung up on me, so I called them 3 times more and each time they hung up. I guess they do not want any business. I have done business with them before but they have just stopped caring about customers I guess. I will make sure to not order anything from this store going forward. read more

the prices is good (not best), but the mistaken measurements and me driving back and forth 4x was annoying. The hours that are noted through google are also incorrect which I found out after having driven to the store and turned away at the closed metal gates. read more

Absolutely horrible. If I could give 0 stars, I would. When we walked in, only two people were working in there. No other customers in sight and neither of the women working even acknowledged my family. They completely ignored us. Not even a hello. About 5 minutes went by and we just walked out!! One of the contractors working outside even came in and said said "hey you guys know you have customers here right?" And they still didn't acknowledge us!!!! Horrible horrible horrible customer service. We will not be getting our baseboards and molding through A 1 Doors. I'll take my checkbook somewhere else!! read more

My husband and I were pretty much regulars at A1 doors in Kent. Up until they messed up m our order. We went in to purchase door casing, same kind we had purchased in a previous order, the lady that helped us told us she was new so she asked for help to locate our previous order... then she found it. We placed the order, paid, loaded and drove back to our job site 2 hours away. When we made it there we realized they gave us the wrong sizes.. we called in and told them and the lady that answered didn't let me talk, she constantly talked over me, saying it was my fault for not checking. I'm assuming it's their job to give me the correct material I ordered! Ok, whatever, she said bring it in and we will exchange it with no restocking fees, which I EXPECTED, since they messed up not us. Went in the following Tuesday. My husband talked to a lady (wish I had gotten her name!) who again wouldn't stop talking over my husband, all we were asking for is for the correct material. Well they made us pay.. such a big fuss... all they could have done was apologize for the mistake and fix it. y'all should have a damn manager on duty every day to resolve issues instead of having sales people disrespect regular customers. So my mother sister and I were checking this place out for the home they just bought, we walked in and got dirty looks from both women in the store they did not greet us or even speak to us. They had closed 30 minutes before we got there and we had no idea, they could have at least said that they were closed and should have locked the front doors. Any form of talking to customers is obviously not their strong suit. read more

I ordered 20 doors and trims from A1 Doors. It took them one week to deliver which is fine. 5 of the double closet doors were 10" bigger than we have ordered, so I called our sales lady Sandy for an exchange. They didn't have all 5 in stock, we were able to exchange 3 that week, and 2 the following week. 3 doors came fine, however the other 2 doors came not "pre-hung". The delivery guy claimed this is the new way to deliver as it is easier to move. I have to contact the store again as my contractor refused to install them. After two weeks and more calls, they finally get the order right! It took almost two months to get all the doors, and my remodel progress has been delayed. I would not recommend this store to anyone. read more

Due to the lack of customer service, I will not come here. Prices aren't bad but I would prefer to spend my money where I feel valued as a customer. At least a "hello" as you enter the building would be appreciated. I have given each front desk/receptionist employee a chance but each time I ask a question, both times I have been here, they are not helpful and full of attitude.
