I noticed that ever since I took my car here, I've had more problems than before. For example, I brought my car here because there was issues with the headlights turning on and off on its own which kills my battery. They fixed it which is great but then not long after that, the horn started to go off on its own at random times. When I called Nam to let him know the issue, he said he would call me back but never did. I feel like this establishment scam their customers to come back by doing things here and there and charges an arm and a leg for it. If this is how they operate their business, then by all means, be shady, but I want no part of it. It's really hard to find a trustworthy mechanic these days that has integrity and knows the meaning of honesty. I don't recommend anyone going here. read more

Yes I do think they are sometimes expensive, but cheaper than the dealership. And since I get my cars from California it's much better to go to an independent shop. Nan has been fixing Mercedes for 30 years, and has been at this current location on Sheridan Street for 8 years. It's sometimes better to make an appointment. I just realized today that my safety check had expired--lol! Like two months ago. Oops drove over and as soon as one of the car bays was opened, got my safety check done. Depending on how long they will take, I can sometimes get a ride to where I need to go. They always give you an estimate on how long it will take, and call you when your car is done. My 2010 ML350 my check engine light was on and my car was shaking / rumbling whenever I accelerated or went up a hill. I took it into A 1 euro auto and they were able to identify what was wrong with it and replace the parts. 06/23/16 Thank you A-1 Euro Auto! Thank you Nan! Thanks to you, we received a refund check from the City today. It helped cover a chunk of the car repair last month! This is the first time anything like this has happened. Think they went back 10 years on the refund. 05/2016 I had to write up this update! After getting our little car back, A-1 Euro Auto called me to tell me that DMV has incorrect information on my registration form. Now we are taxed based on the weight of the car...As it turns out, we have been taxed on 5670 lbs since 1989. The correct weight on the car is 3670 lbs...2000 lbs lighter. Too expensive. Told me it would take 1.5 hours to replace camshaft sensors and they would charge $130/hr. The day of the repair I stayed and waited. It took 20 minutes. Turns out it wasn't the problem anyways (not their fault). I needed camshaft adjusters replaced not he sensors. He Initially estimated at around $3600. Sent me an official quote for $4400 and offered a military discount of $400 Went to Sumida's and paid $2430 for the same thing. Car runs great! Compared the parts required for my repair with both quotes and the Sumidas had way less required parts. No shade to the company. They have a business to run. Just letting people know there are other options. read more

Fantastic service above and beyond! My 1990 Mercedes Benz 560SEC decided to sound its alarm when I started it this morning. I could not get it to stop so drove the car to A 1 Europe Auto as they knew the car and I trusted them. After the horribly embarrassing drive there, I made it there, jumped out of the car and one of the mechanics came running, took charge and immediately start working on it. Not impressed..I took my mercedes here for the 1st and last time for an oil change..the price is over rated and they don't check your fluids as the recipient states..when I dropped my car off the coolant and windshield washer fluid was low, it was the same when I got it back..service schedule wasn't reset, my middle counsel wad messed with... ok enough complaints.. The Mercedes dealership is nice and all, but they are expensive assholes who want your money - even if they put on a nice face about it. This place has got them beat! Our power steering went out. A1 Euro Auto was quick to diagnose and fix the belts responsible for the problem. They were honest and prompt about the cost estimate. Just wanted to post a followup. Had a minor issue with a repair that A1 did in early March. Brought the car back and they -- without hesitation -- squeezed me in and rectified it at no charge. I'm not saying they are not good at what they do, they sure are. And friendly too. Shop is clean and looks professional. But it's way overpriced. If money is no object then by all means use them. Otherwise go elsewhere. Charged me almost $1,000 for a part that online costs $90-220 at the most. OEM part. Same exact. I expected there would be a little mark up, stupid me didn't ask how much when he called me, so that's my fault. But I think that when your car is getting serviced and it's gonna cost nearly $1,200 for a simple problem it's his duty to make that clear to his customers. I feel incredibly ripped off. They then have the nerve to quote over $1,000 for rear brake pads. EACH side!!! Not even an AMG model. Just pads, not even rotors. No thanks. read more

Used to be a good spot. Brought it in for a oil change and service. Nan called me saying i needed a full service because its over 90k miles. $1200 was the upsell quote. I said just stick to oil change.Ended up 200 dollar oil change and front blinker bulb replacement. This place is absolutely the best place to take your benz. I own a c63 and have had a few modifications such as front lip installed, rear diffuser, side marker lights, and regularly take my car here for oil changes. Always professional and friendly. They always seem to be packed but still finish the job in a very timely manner. This is the place to be if you own a benz. Everyone knows mercedes benz of honolulu is crap...so I'm glad there is a1 euro auto for all my needs. I would definetly recommend this place. When I took my car in to get my smoked side marker lights installed they did it for free! Nan and his staff are absolute experts! Nan was able to diagnose a complex problem ie: No A/C, cooling fan stuck on high, multiple sensor faults etc in a couple of minutes, 3 other shops had failed and the stealership was not shy about telling me it would be at least $2800 without even looking at the car!! The repair took less than 5 minutes changing out a HVAC control module that fixed all those problems. This shop is spotless, and you will be treated with courtesy and respect. Thank you A-1 Auto and Nan for your tenacity...We have used A-1 to service our car the last 4 years, then we went somewhere else because of price and location, where we were unhappy with the work and in particular the service, so we came back to A-1...the service went as usual, well... but we had another "mystery" problem where, something was draining off of the battery, running it down, where we had to use jumper cables to restart....A-1 took the car back many times until they solved the problem. It would have been nice if they were not so popular and busy where they could have checked out each part again after an installation of an ignition system, and electrical panel with their diagnostic machine, so that we did not have to bring it back...but each time we brought it back they relooked...so far so good! P.S. Because of jumping the battery so many times, ruining it, A-1 generously gave us a new 2-year warrantee battery, and discounted some of the labor. thank you!! We will be back... I've been bringing my car here for routine maintenance for a few years, and thought they were doing a good job. It came as a shock to me when they told me I needed a list of things repaired on my car that would cost $1,500!! When I asked Nan if it needed to be done right away, he said sooner the better. My initial reaction was to TRUST them and just get it fixed, however since it was such a large amount I decided to get a second opinion, and I'm glad I did. While the second dealership said that my car had to be aligned and there was a minor leak my car DID NOT have to fix all the things that were listed and it would be way cheaper. The mechanic even let my father-in-law look under the car to check out some things himself! They were shocked that I was given this list of repairs and commented "they did not know what he was looking at" and feel that I was being taken advantage of since I wouldn't know better. My advice to you....don't just trust anything that they say, and get a second opinion because it could save you lots of money and unnecessary repairs! read more
