Slogan should be "mediocrity at its finest". Just the whole process was horrible. From the beginning when Brian the owner came to my house and we bid the job measured it out he was just cheesy and overly nice to where it was obviously fake. Then after weeks of waiting they finally show up. Their head installer Dan would not get off his phone the whole time it smells like a brewery. He decided it would be okay to play hard rock music in my house and it had cussing in the lyrics while my toddler is running around and learning how to speak. Then it takes him hours upon hours to finally complete the job after coming back two days in a row which shows that it was a job that was highly underbid TimeWise and when he left I looked at it and could have done a better job myself! What, did this guy just start doing glass last week? Will never call these people again! On a couple final notes.. I had to scrape all the silicone caulking off of the shower and redo it myself and it looks better.maybe I should apply at A1 and show them how it's done! And after they left I ran a background check on Dan. History with drugs and affiliated with biker gangs! Learning experience to say the least. read more

They quoted a great price on a new windshield and even after finding rust which was allowing the old windshield to leak, they sanded down and primed the rusted areas so that the new windshield had no chance of leaking. They took a little longer than most shops but it was necessary in doing the job right the first time. They take pride in attention to detail which is much appreciated. This company is expanding from auto windows to home/shower glass installation. I hired this company to put glass in all my bathrooms and my wine room in my newly renovated custom home. They quoted us 3 weeks and took 9 months. They claimed they knew how do everything we were hiring them to do (including the wine room) but the glass doesn't fit, is shaky and there is a large gap below the wine room doors. They took incorrect measurements and generally had no idea what they were doing. The attitude of the employee assigned to us was horrible - she refused to speak to us and told us the contractor had to call her because she doesn't speak to clients directly. Horrible experience and I would never recommend them to anyone. They shouldn't be expanding into this realm of business and should stick to cars. read more

Like other drivers, I care greatly for my new car and want the best service (even if I have to drive further and wait 3 hours). I'm new to the area and live in Pismo. Based on the great Yelp reviews, I gave it a shot and called for more information. Lindsey picked up. Since I wanted the manufacturer window, she needed the VIN number. I took a break from work and walked to my car so that I could give her the information. Lindsey said that she'll follow up before the day ends. A day goes by.... I'm agitated because my window could have been replaced by now. But due to the incredible reviews, I still hung in there and follow up. When Lindsey picked up, she said that she'll call me back, which led to us playing phone tag. I finally got a hold of Lindsey who said that she's not in charge of the residential office. (I wish she had said this from the start!) Before transferring me, Lindsey said that a residential rep has my information and would be able to help. While I'm working with the residential rep, I found out that none of my information is in the system. The rep asked if they could call me back while they get that info from Lindsey, and I said "no, thanks." (I have a feeling she's lost my info.) Although they tried lowering the rate to save the sale, this was already a sour deal. Having experience this, I can't imagine how they handle customer issues. Do they pass the customer from one department to the next if the customer has billing or service issue? Or do they tell the customer that they'll call them back, but never do? Called A-1 to ask about having a picture window replaced at my house. The lady that answered the phone was very snarky right from "Hello". I told her what I needed and asked if they could give me an estimate. She said that they could send someone out but that there would be a non-refundable $100 fee for that service (I'm about a 3 minute drive from their business address). That was not only unacceptable, but also seemed like a scam. Why would any customer agree to that offer? I called the other glass/window place in town. They happily came out and gave me a free estimate, and of course they got the job. Worked out okay. I don't think I could ever recommend A-1. read more

Bryan (the owner) and Jesse (one of his field techs) did an amazing job on our '11 328 and '12 MDX. Jesse did the MDX very quickly, cleanly and at our convenience despite my delaying them an hour or so. And Jess repaired four chips in the 328 windshield and you can't see where he worked at all! This was the nicest group of people in retail that I have ever met!!! All options were explained in detail as well as a demonstration. The film I chose was a heat reducer and it is! I have a new truck and want to keep it looking that way. I love the tint on the side windows and the added heat reduction it provides. I notice a huge difference. Poor overall experience for a sliding screen door in need of wheel and screen replacement. Quick to call for deposit but no call backs to update status of repairs as promised. Made all calls myself to get updates. They could not figure out how to replace wheels but I was able to purchase and replace the wheels myself. I recently was driving on the 46E behind a big Uhaul and a rock kicked up, hit my windshield, and left a nice big cracked hole. I was in a time crunch to fix it and my husband called them 15 minutes before I walked in and they had everything set up for me. For how quickly it was put together at 9am - they greeted me with smiles, a sense of humor, and great positivity. I had screen put on a window screen frame I brought in. it took a week and a half to acomplish. I picked it up and the screen came off the frame, the rubber they used might have been to small, or else screen cut to small, but it blew right off with a good gust of wind. I don't know where to get this done but dont get screen done here read more

I rent a house but know the owner pretty well. It's an older house built in the early to mid 60's. It has had a lot of repairs and remodeling done. But the windows had not yet been replaced. As charming as those old windows are, they are not practical at all. These windows had not been taken care of either. My husband did a full install of central heating and air so the owner started looking into replacing the windows. We didn't think it was going to happen any time soon, because the average price was a little too much for the owner to spend. My husband's shop is located near A1 and we have had them do some smaller glass jobs for us in the past, so he asked if they did window installations. They do. The owner of A1 glass, Brian Carroll, came out the next day and gave us an incredibly good quote. The home owner called a few more places and could not find a comparable price. So we got started! The windows were ordered from milgard, they are affordable and still very high quality. It took a while for the windows to get here because of it being summer. But they are super nice windows. Brian measured the windows 3 times, so we knew the order would be right. All the new windows fit perfectly! There was some frame work that needed to be done on a few windows, and Brian did that beautifully as well. It took about 1 and a half days to install all the windows and then one day to paint and clean. Really fast! They paint match so you don't have to worry. Everything looks like it was always meant to be there. Brian Carroll is extremely nice and cares a lot about the customer and the quality of work he provides. Every person you speak to and interact with is very kind. The whole experience was more than pleasant. The windows are incredible! We are so happy and the home owner is too. All the people at A1 glass really went above and beyond! And all at a really fair price. I would highly recommend them to any one for any glass need they have and we will continue to use them as well.
