I was of thinking betraying A1 self storage and going to Extraspace storage by the freeway and Bake. I am so glad that I decided to stay with A1. This facility is far superior to any others in the area. Always clean and it even smells clean. Nice wide doors, cement floors. I went to A1 storage last week looking for units very indecisive and not knowing what I want or what to get. This is my 1st time moving and needing storage so I'm very uneducated on size and units of storage and I was very frustrated searching for things online to say the least. So I decided to just go in and speak with someone directly. When I walked in I was greeted by a young lady named Jazz. She was EXTREMELY helpful and knowledgeable about what I may need based off of what I told. She was extremely patient with me and helped me with a smile the whole time. I've been meaning to write a review for a little while now and I keep forgetting, but a Friday afternoon is as good as any time to catch up on some thank-you's. However, as I scroll through these reviews, Im a little astonished at how many people beat me to it. This place is awesome, and it's awesome because of Billy. Period. I had an 'incident' recently that required a lot of handholding and special support and Billy was there behind each phonecall and email to help. He's prompt, professional and exceptionally competent. I run a business and it's very hard to find people who do his quality of work with such attention to detail. I think that work ethic is lost in this day and age. Found this place online after reading the reviews and went and checked it out. I got there just as the nice lady came back from lunch..perfect timing! She was very friendly and pleasant to talk to. She gave me the pricing and Showed me the units. After talking to my husband we chose a 8 x 10 unit. It has elevators and plenty of carts to move your stuff. Security gate. read more

This is my second stint at this particular location and they are as awesome as ever. We've worked with Maricela on both occasions and she's cool, calm, and professional. The storage facilities are clean and the employees have all been helpful. The second floor units do get a bit warm during the summer, but I think that has more to do with the recent heat waves. My husband and I recently rented a storage unit here and the office manager, Crystal, is a pleasure to work with. She made the experience easy. This storage place is great as they hold your spot for you. We knew we needed a storage unit a couple of weeks before we wanted to move in. This place has some shady stuff going on. I have been with this storage location for a couple of years and the last six months I have seen a change. Whoever oversees this property does a poor job. Carts have been taken and notices all over the place stating they may start locking them up. Tonight I went there and there were two guys sitting in separate cars by the porta potty. To be honest it looked like a drug deal going down. Once I showed up with my husband one car left the other purposely drove by us looking at what we had in our car. When we went to leave the car re-parked by the porta potty and didn't look like they were going to any units. I am leaving this property before I get robbed. I will never come here by myself and I would suggest a security guard until they can get thing under control. Also, if you want climate control go to Public Storage. There online pricing is better then A-1 and you are guaranteed climate control! read more

After checking out other similar storage facilities in the area, we chose A-1 Lake Forest because of (1) better prices and (2) access to storage units 365 days a year. We ruled out the facilities that don't offer access to units on major holidays. Our 40-hour work week forces us to handle stored items on holidays as well as weekends, so A-1 was our obvious choice.
