I always wanted to visit this cafe after seeing so much of it on social media and hearing about it…read more I finally had the chance to visit today and my expectations were blown away. I expected it to be good, but wow - this place is AMAZING. Upon entering their cafe you are greeted by an amazing curation of plants lining an outdoor seating area. I can see this being such a wonderful area to relax and hold outdoor events. The sunshade over the outdoor area really represents the thought that was put into it for patrons of their cafe. The drinks were absolutely perfect and some of the best I have had on-island - and I go to a lot of cafes. This was just next level and they know exactly what they are doing. The barista who took our order (Kaya) was so gracious to explain and recommend what drinks would be great to try for a first-timer. I opted for the ceremonial grade matcha Wakaba (hot) no sugar, no milk, just straight matcha, and my dad got the pour-over (hot) Kau Delvin Navarro Pacamara Washed. Both drinks were excellent in addition to the signature Matcha Basque Cheesecake which paired perfectly with the drinks. My matcha was extremely smooth and paired perfect with the cheesecake. My dad's pour-over drink changed flavors as you kept drinking it. Definitely next-level stuff. This was honestly one of the best cafe experiences I have had so far and I hope I can come here more often because it has earned its spot as one of my most favorite cafes on-island.

Another seasonal beverage: Yuzu Cold Brew Tonic. Anything yuzu...I'm into...also, excellent. I discovered a hidden gem during our vacation in Oahu, located in Kailua. While parking is limited,…read morethe short walk to this cozy spot is well worth it. We enjoyed an iced Hawaiian latte and an iced coconut milk matcha, both of which were delightful and flavorful. The Hawaiian latte had the perfect balance of coffee and milk, and I couldn't resist adding a blueberry scone to my order--it was absolutely delicious. The service here is exceptional, and the coffee shop also features a small breakfast diner with a diverse menu to satisfy any palate. If you're looking for a place to relax, there's a tranquil, ambient area with soft lighting, as well as a charming back patio. I truly loved the vibe of this place, and I'm confident you will too.

Rise and Grind used to be my favorite spot, I would go to them exclusively. Unfortunately, they…read morerecently changed their POS system and their rewards. Now everything is a little more expensive and the rewards don't feel rewarding. The tipping point that made me write an update is that they charge almost full price for drip coffee refills. Even starbucks offers refills on regular old black coffee. My husband used to enjoy going in to work on college or read so it was sad to not be able to refill his coffee. The espresso is still good (usually) and the pastries are good. The food items are also tasty. The seating and overall vibe is wonderful, and the workers are nice (the older staff are my fave tho!). They are still my favorite for a london fog, but I stop by less often now.

Locally made chocolate!…read more I've seen Manoa Chocolate bars sold in various local grocery stores and shops over the years. My husband and I never had them until we booked a reservation for Manoa Chocolate's factory tour at this location during our local honeymoon six years ago, days before the pandemic started, when the factory tour used to be held here. My husband and I sampled a few chocolate pieces while our tour guide showed us Manoa Chocolate's cacao harvesting and chocolate-making process. We learned that those mainstream confectioners use fillers in their chocolate bars and lists sugar as their first ingredient! Since then, my husband and I have had Manoa Chocolate's monthly subscriptions at least on two different occasions, including today! A monthly subscription costs $25 for 3 bars--1 limited edition bar and 2 bars from their permanent menu; a better deal than buying individual bars! The subscription has better value the longer the subscription is. I love the variety of milk and dark chocolate bars. We've also ordered a bag of cacao brew and have mixed it with freshly ground coffee for a hot brew. If you love getting ice cream from Sage Creamery, their chocolate ice creams are made with Manoa Chocolate!
