This place is amazing! It's located on the side of a gas station but it's extremely clean and cozy. It seems to be newer and the decor is really inviting. The service we received from one of the co-owners was extremely friendly and helpful. She even suggested our group to put two of the tables together so we could all easily sit together. Since we wanted to try as much as possible, I got the 2 meat plate and it was delicious. She recommended I try the short ribs and chopped brisket and she couldn't have been more right! The food was extremely flavorful. My sides were baked beans and corn. The corn was so good and so were the baked beans! My coworker got the catfish platter with potato salad and red beans & rice. All of it was also delicious and I would've been happy to have gotten that, too! All-in-all, a great experience and I have nothing bad to say. We're all very happy that we tried it on a whim and hope to be back on a Saturday to try the special menu! A great quick bite outside of Randolph AFB.

Newly opened spot...very hospitable. Food is on point!!! They are still guaging the crowd. Had gone there for lunch and had the catfish basket with fries and coleslaw. Im a big man at 6'3" 240 but that was filling as the portion for the catfish was on point. Love it so it so much came back the same day at dinner and brought some back for wifey

Besides the amazing food, amazing service !! Legit a diamond in the rough, can't wait to swing by next time to try out the bbq !

My husband and I ate here while waiting for a tow truck to come get my car down the road. We had the pulled pork sandwich, brisket sandwich, and the shrimp po boy. All 3 were amazing, as were the fries! I would suggest a sturdier bun for the sandwiches, but flavor was 10/10!

We arrived just as they opened. There was no one to greet us for the first few minutes. Finally, someone came out from the back to let us know that they were busy, which sounded strange since they had just opened, but when they explained about the air show it made sense. The music is loud but that's expected. It is a bar after all...that serves barbecue. We ordered at the bar and sat down. BWE and I shared the Chuckwagon Classic Plate, and we added 1/3 lb of brisket. My son had the same Classic Plate. We got the beans and fries as our sides. When our food was brought to us, the server didn't give us utensils. We had to ask her for them. The portions seemed small. The brisket was not hot. It was room temperature. The fries and beans were just okay. We were underwhelmed. This is Texas. Our expectations were high but we were disappointed. It could be that the order from the air show overwhelmed them and left them little strength to give attention to our order so I'll give them a little grace and give them two stars instead of one. We won't be back.

Noticed upon entrance, a humongous outdoor space connected to both restaurants which included plenty of outdoor seating tables and a stage. It must get busy on the weekends and I assume there's entertainment. Friendly greeting upon entering and seat yourself. Lots of TVs with Chive and enjoyed the country music in the background. Excellent service! Our server was friendly and checked on us frequently. Complimentary tortilla chips with a special seasoning and queso were brought to the table . I liked the seasoning. There's also a small complimentary condiment and BBQ sauce bar- which included onions, pickles, jalapeños, regular and spicy BBQ sauce. Pickles were nice and appeared home made. I dipped my meats in combos of both sauces, I enjoyed them both. We all ordered the two meat combos $18 with your choice of two sides and served with Texas toast. I ordered the brisket and pulled pork. Both were excellent! The brisket had a nice tiny fatty edge and was seasoned and cooked perfectly. The pulled pork was deelish. Good portion size too. I enjoyed the beans, but the coleslaw not so much. The slaw was bland and had no flavor. Others at my table ordered the tater tots, which were highly seasoned and had a nice crunch. We were so full, had some leftovers for the next day. Great BBQ, great service!

I ordered the BBQ parfait with a grape lemonade and gooooodness... it was delicious and super filling!! We also had the chance to meet one of the owners, who was really nice. The staff overall was kind, welcoming, and knowledgeable about the menu. The inside is pretty small with just a few tables both inside and outside, but it had a cozy vibe. I'd definitely love to come back and try more items on the menu!

How can you relax and have a conversation with your friends or a date if you can't hear yourselves think? The service is nonexistent and that's fine because it's your basic fast food concept. Not a problem. However, the food is more industrial based than true Texas BBQ. My brisket was very dry. They slather a lot of BBQ sauce on top of your meat. Why? Because the meat is either old or dry or both. Mine was very dry. The beans were drenched in sugar. The Mac and Cheese lacked (cheese) taste. We love good BBQ. This is not good BBQ. Compare to the Burnt Bean in Sequin and you will understand. The burnt bean runs out of product leaving long lines for their food; it's real BBQ, fresh homemade food. You can taste it.

Hello my fellow foodies…read more I'm about to relax after devouring this deliciousness from Daddy J's BBQ! We ordered the 3 meat special for $14, the sides (Big beans and coleslaw) were extra; making the grand total $19. RIBS (5/5): The ribs were so tender and seasoned to perfection. I've ordered ribs from several local barbecue joints and some were either dry or was too much smoky flavor for me. I'm kicking myself in the rear end for not ordering more. Daddy J's ribs were juicy with just enough of season and smoky flavor. BAKED BEANS (5/5): Beans were tangy and sweet; very flavorful SAUSAGE (5/5): Sausage was hot and fresh but flavor was nothing really to rave about. It tasted like normal kielbasa sausage. BRISKET (4/5): While I'm not a huge brisket fan, I have to admit, it tasted pretty good. I personally feel like brisket should be injected with the same seasoning that's used on the outside. But, I understand most BBQ joints use the traditional way and I'm sure many may enjoy it just as it is. My husband ate more of it than I did and enjoyed it just as much as he did the ribs. COLESLAW (4/5): Coleslaw was cold and fresh. Although, I would have added a little more creamy slaw dressing. Rolls tasted as if they were Hawaiian rolls but that works too To me, it seems as if the ribs are the heavy hitting here! I would definitely visit again, order just ribs and sides.
