The Smokey MO's on Bulverde Rd is truly a step above. We recently moved in this area and have stopped by a few times since they have the convenience of a drive thru. We stopped by to grab meat for dinner and our chicken wasn't fully cooked. My husband called the manager and he said to come in and they will make it right. We couldn't go back till the next day and when we got there the other manager already knew about what happened and replaced our entire order!! We had a BBQ emergency - SIL burned the turkey and we were hungry for soked turkey! SMokey Mo's to save the day! 4 of the 5 of us ordered turkey and it was moist and delicious. Our 2 year old got a "little mo" turkey and mac and cheese. The mac and cheese was super creamy and she loved both items. I was impressed with the amount of meat on a kid's meal. For sides we had everything from creamed corn, to potato salad, to cold slaw to green beans to baked potatoes - everything was solid. I also had some burnt ends as part of a 2 meat plate - not my favorite but tasty. They offer two levels of BBQ sauce - both are well balanced. We choose to eat in - always clean and tidy. You order at the counter and they call your name. Nice fixings bar. Staff is super friendly. They have a drive thru and a huge parking lot. I actually ordered through Grubhub I was too exhausted to drive anywhere. This is my first time ordering from this restaurant. I'm sorry I don't have any photos I got right down to business when it arrived. My order didn't take long at all so I'm super impressed by that. So now the food I ordered. After a bad experience here several years ago, I was hesitant to give them another try; but I'm glad I did. We ordered brisket, jalapeño sausage, Mac 'n cheese, and creamed corn. Out of all of it, the roasted creamed corn was the best! It was outstanding. I'd go again just for that. Next, my husband loved the jalapeño sausage. The brisket was good, pretty tender. I liked it. I pointed out the price listed on the menu board. He didn't know why it was more. He tried to figure out why it rang up 50 cents more. Later he told me that it says on the board that Brisket is 50 cents more. I asked him where does it say that, because the board price for a regular sandwich states any meat is 8.09. I finally saw where he pointed it out, which was further down on the board. That sign needs to be corrected. If the sandwich is priced at 8.09 for a regular size sandwich, then why the heck are they charging more for a brisket sandwich. That is VERY misleading. read more

The chicken was surprisingly a large piece and a good value if mine had not had blood seeping from the back.. some pieces were rather chewy which makes me think the smoking process used to cook this portion was cut short. I returned the option for a new order and was satisfied with my order. The cream corn was delicious and the macaroni was almost as good as Daddy's... Tonight tho-oh my!! We were hosting 10 people at our house (some from out of town) and we did the family pack for 8-10. Chopped (my fav!!!) , brisket, chicken, green beans (omg amazing), Mac and cheese (creamy deliciousness), and potatoes. We also added a small coleslaw and quart of beans.
