This review is long overdue…read more Such a bittersweet review for me... I inherited my late mom's beautiful Vacheron gold watch from the 1970's that was no longer working and missing a part. I did extensive research and decided on Seregin's and I'm so happy that I did. Not only were they friendly/kind and super professional, but this watch, being a relic, and extremely thin and intricate, at this point, was a hard one to fix. Paul, the owner, went above and beyond, connecting with his own network to find the parts that were no longer for sale publicly. He called me multiple times to confirm the heftier price tag that parts and service would cost and when the timeline would be extended. When I came in to pick up the final product and he listened to my story of my beautiful mother and the watch, he truly had compassion and added to the story of this watch. This wasn't a faceless transaction and for something like an inherited treasure, that truly meant something to me. Overall, they clearly know their business here, from your more normal watch to luxury pieces. They care about the products and the customers they service.

Vartan was my point person at Union Street Jewelers, and he was very informative/realistic about whether the resizing was feasible and the potential "risks" of getting the ring adjusted. He also quoted me $175, which was significantly cheaper than another jeweler I had visited earlier that day. About a week later, I came to pick up my ring, and it fit perfectly. The shape wasn't affected either. In addition to the high quality of the craftsmanship, I also really appreciated how hospitable Vartan and the rest of the associates were. He really treated me like a long-time friend even though it was my first time meeting him. Highly recommend!

The job was not completed within the promised timeframe. He didn't bother calling me in advance and informing me about the delay. 2. The incorrect battery was installed, and now the mechanical arms no longer function correctly. 3. Several screws were stripped from overtightening, replacements difficult to find. See the photos. 4. The case is not properly closed, compromising the waterproofing. Have zero trust in this watch after seeing the quality of his work. 5. My follow-up phone call and voicemail were ignored. This watch isn't just a piece of jewelry, it's a functional tool I depend on. Ben should have declined the job if it was beyond his expertise; He would lose 35 dollars but that level of honesty would have earned him a 5-star review from me. This shop might be fine for simple watches, but for more complex or technical work, be aware of the risks. I hope my experience helps others avoid the same mistake.

Figured I'd go into the store on the weekend, because they would surely have a large selection of watch straps in all sizes and materials--that was not the case! After some back and forth with the store clerk, she indicated that she could place the order and have it shipped. After being on the struggle bus for over ten minutes, I asked to see the order one last time before paying. Of course, despite my very clear instruction that I was seeking a 20mm watch strap, she had the wrong size. Oops! If you're looking for top-notch customer service, maybe best to try another location. For the price point and value, this experience doesn't instill much confidence in the brand after being a loyal customer for a decade. Felt like I was shopping at Foot Locker. I totally get the complaint that Shinola is just a nostalgic version of Fossil or some other middle-of-the-road watch company, but I have tried so hard to like this brand. Do better folks!

Unfortunately, I was at a festival and lost it so I wanted to replace the watch as soon as possible. I don't have a Swatch store anywhere near me so that's not so easy. They did start selling some of the Moonswatches online including the one I had, but I knew I was going to SF soon and that the store would be down the street from my hotel. Plus, some new colors and models came out that I was interested in. I was taking a risk because collectors buy certain ones up and often wait outside the store for new drops when they release. The watch I was interested in was the grey 1965 which had just come out. I came into the store and was greeted by the staff. I told them my predicament about losing one and wanting to replace it, but also about my curiosity to see other color ways that aren't available to me in SC. They asked about all the color ways I was interested in, brought them out, and added a couple extras that I might like. I was able to compare them all right next to each other and see the small differences like between the Mission to the Moon and the Moonphase which are super similar. I ended up leaving with the 1965 and I'm so happy with it. I even bought a watch for my friend who bought me the initial watch I lost as an extra thank you and to remedy my prior carelessness in losing the first one. Now all is right in the world and I love my new watch. I have to shout out the staff too who were not only helpful, but patient while I made my decision. Plus while I was picking out the watch I was gifting to a friend, one of the female staff members offered to try it on her wrist so I could choose the right size for my female friend.

Joe R., San Jose, CA I have loved watches since I was a freshman in high school. I have been doing business with A & E Watches for over 10 years. I first bought a Rolex submariner and loved it but my oldest son loved it more. I gave it to him for graduation from the university. Then when my youngest son graduated from the university he fell in love with a Bulgari and upon graduation he was wearing the Bulgari from A & E. I gave my oldest daughter an 18K diamond Bulgari at graduation from the university and when my youngest daughter graduated from prep school I gave her a Techno-Marine ceramic diamond watch. Well when my mother turned 80 I gave her an 18K diamond Cartier with an alligator strap. A & E walked me through all the purchases for my gifts. The price has always been great and the service is always friendly, and knowledgable. When talking about watches vintage or not, they know their stuff, period. So what do I wear? My everyday watch is a limited edition numbered stainless and 18K yellow gold dual time zone Breitling, 335/1000, from a Brazilian World Cup Air Race. A & E found that watch that I had to have and at a very good price. For dress and especially a dark suit or jacket, I have a very hard to find Rolex 18K white gold Cellini with a custom rolled face from the Midas collection with a mirrored face and black alligator band. I only have seen mine and it has the appearance of a very fine Buljan tuxedo. For special casual I have an 18K yellow gold Cartier Pasha with the grill and a medium tan alligator band. This watch is hard to find and only carried at the larger, higher end Cartier stores. A friend was being nosey and checked while in New York and that is what the Cartier salesperson told her. My friend had never seen a watch like my Pasha. I was in the store one day around Christmas last year. I was talking about how proud I was of my daughters and how I wanted more keepsakes for them later. Avi and Jenn, at A & E Watches got excited and showed me three women's watches for my daughters. I fell in love with them and could only see them on my daughters. I was good and I said, "No, I can't" ! Avi made me an offer that I couldn't refuse. I walked out that day with a Stainless and 18K yellow gold Omega with a mother of pearl face, a stainless diamond Chopard and an 18K yellow gold diamond Bulgari with a dark brown alligator strap. They are all at home in my safe waiting for the appropriate time, maybe a wedding or ?. I look at them from time to time and they always bring a smiled to my face. Well for the finale. My father died when I was 15 years old. He wore an 14K yellow gold Longines from the 1950s. A & E took his watch and refurbished it, oiled it, serviced it and put on a new dark brown alligator band. It looks great and works great. A & E Watches takes care of all my watch needs. It's been over 10 years and I won't change from them and if Avi isn't there then I just talk to Jenn and she always takes care of me. I am not always easy because I am a non-conformist and like different watches than the norm. After over 10 years and 10 watches they are the only store that I trust. read more

Warning: Rude employees/owner. I was talked over, interrupted, and insulted. I can't help but come across snobby when relating the situation that happened to me, but decide for yourself...I needed a replacement band for a Chaumet watch - simple right? Except this brand isn't retailed in the US. The owner takes one look at my watch (which he allready told me on the phone that he wasn't familiar with the brand) and then called over another customer to "educate" us on what bands/brands to avoid...then he tells me that he can't help me because my watch brand is no longer made. I informed him that this brand is popular in Europe and asked him again (when he shut up long enough) if there's any band that he can put on it temporarily till April when I'm back in Europe on a trip. He asked me rudely "are you SURE you'll be able to get a band for it?" Then he rudely told me that he could "try" to come up with something for it...but he doesn't stock this band as it's not "marketable." I was too insulted by his attitude/behavior to say what I should've said - how can a jeweler be so oblivious to other brands - especially well established European brands (does Napolean ring a bell)? This is a $15k watch, retails in Harrods of London, with a storefront on the Champs-Elysees..and as far as marketability - I received on average 3 compliments and inquiries from other woman whenever I wore it! Snobby - maybe...but take your money elsewhere...if you're looking for service and something more unique than the standard Cartier Tank or Rolex, this is definitely not the place! read more

If you enjoy being SWINDLED by these smoooth talking SCAM ARTISTS, by all means engage in a business transaction with them! But if your hard earned dollar is important to you, run the other way!!! I ordered a TAG/HEUER ladies watch from them for my wife for Christmas, well before Christmas. They sent the wrong watch, which I returned in hopes of getting what I had not only ordered but ALREADY PAID FOR. Well, that was the last I heard from them, NO WATCH, NO MONEY!!! I have had to initiate a charge back dispute with my CC company in hopes of recovering the money. They advertise merchandise that they don't have. The watch I ordered is STILL listed as "available" on their website. Oh, they will cry and tell you that this is all untrue, they are highly reputable and honest. My buying experience with A&E was mostly positive overall. They got me a great deal on the watch and were mostly professional. The main issue I experienced was simply the demeanor of the sales member. Not only were many of the emails abrupt and lacking information when I requested more details, but on the phone it sounded like the saleswoman would get often annoyed or wanted to rush me off the phone if I asked for more information. I understand that with COVID things are a bit crazy, but that doesn't mean the emails should be ghosted and I shouldn't be treated with patience and kindness. I recommend that the sales staff make sure they are always courteous and follow up if their customers have anymore questions, it will go a long way. I just purchased an as new, never worn Rolex Submariner with box and papers from A&E. I was somewhat apprehensive about wiring $8,900. for a watch I could only view on their site, but I did my due diligence and checked with the SF Better Business Bureau, and spoke with the A&E staff extensively. Leilani and Imbar were very helpful and responsive to my inquiries. I am a career law enforcement officer, so I'm cautious by training and nature. I received my watch via UPS on a Saturday special delivery, and it's perfect. Everything was as advertised and presented on the A&E site. Looked online at Rolex watches they had for sale, wow what a selection. I then called in and spoke to Inbar, a very nice woman, and put in my order on Tuesday. She told me it would be there on Friday. I will say I was a bit worried (being that I'm in Phoenix,Arizona and them San Francisco),since reading horror stories online about people buying Rolex watches and them being fake or not arriving at all. It arrived Friday morning as promised,amazing packaging protecting the watch. Absolutely beautiful watch,exactly what I ordered, even the bracelet size was correct. I learn about this shop from friend of mine that recommended it to me. After visiting it few times looking for a Rolex watch I desired for quite sometimes. I was initially upset when I was told that my go-to sales rep Malia had left but was re-assured by the sales manager, Inbar, that she would take good care of my pieces, and I can honestly say she did. I brought in one my Tudors for a tune up and saw how well she took care of it from the way she was holding it to the way she handed it back to me a couple hours later. I purchased a Rolex Submariner when visiting San Francisco from Australia in June 2011. I was provided a 2 year warranty and after about 8 weeks of ownership the watch stopped. The costs to insure and ship it to back to the USA were going to be $150 and then another $150 to get it back to Australia. The A and E team offered to send me the $300 which they promplty did.. this enabled me to have the watch repaired in Australia and take advantage of a 1 year warranty here. The team was responsive, reliable and understanding. The watch is going very well. read more

A&E Watches give excellent service. I have had both my Omega and vintage Tag Heuer watches repaired to excellent satisfaction. They found a new movement for my Tag, despite the fact that it had been discontinued years ago! And they gave me a big discount! Tzipi and beautiful Olga are two of the nicest people you might ever meet - always courteous with excellent customer service skills. Extremely pleased; a friend purchased a woman's Rolex from A&E many years ago and couldn't say enough positive things about their service and her Rolex. I decided to buy a pre-certified Rolex from Avi, the owner and I'm extremely pleased. These guys are great. They service very high-end, expensive watches, but they are not at all snobs…read moreabout working on less expensive ones. I have two watches that stopped working--one about 25 years old, the other about 40 years old. I probably paid about $50-$100 each for them, but they have a lot of sentimental value. I had to get the movements replaced on both. It wasn't cheap (one had to be special ordered and cost 4X what I originally paid for the watch), but they are as good as new now. They have gained a lifelong customer.

This is my first time with Geneva Watch Repair (GWR) and I brought my Omega Constellation for…read morebattery change. I called in advance and GWR staff (Jack) advised it was something they could complete in 10-15 minutes. Once they handed the watch back to me, I noticed several deep gouges around the case and case back/cap. I was shocked and immediately brought this to staff's attention. The staff noted one should expect gouges with battery replacements and/or case opening (Unbelievable to hear). Afterwards, the tech took my watch to the back noting he would discuss with their watch maker. Hearing the polisher/buffer running, I immediately told them to stop. Those in the watch hobby acknowledge that polishing in general is best avoided as it can deform/wear out the watch case. Per GWR's claim as "experienced Swiss graduate watchmakers", I'm stunned at the poor quality of work and skill, lack of customer service, and dishonesty. I've taken other time pieces to watchmakers in other locales and have never had such a poor experience. I will never recommend GWR to anyone and would advise others looking for watch repair to look elsewhere.

I've visited Clicky Bezel a few times and have had a positive impression each time. They stock a good selection of microbrands, including Kuoe, Baltic and Jack Mason, just to name a few. These brands all have their own unique design styles, meaning that almost everyone can find a watch that interests them. That, and the healthy, wide price range makes Clicky Bezel great for beginners and enthusiast alike. My favorite part of their store is that they also stock straps in a variety of styles, sizes, and colors. I was even able to custom order a strap for only an extra $10! On occasion, they've hosted events, where you can check out the watch selection later at night, snack+drink, and meet other watch fans. The owners are kind, patient, and provide good foundational watch knowledge when asked--in a recent visit they helped pick out some straps and talked through my options with a custom order, even though they were closing in ten minutes! At the same time, as a new brick and mortar store, they are still finding their groove--it can get busy during noon and 5pm, meaning you often have to wait for one of the two staffers to finish with other customers. Looking forward to many repeat visits in the future.

I wanted to stop by a watch shop in the Union Square/Powell area, and this was perfect. Walking in, I went in and saw fun brands like Kuoe, Baltic, and Vulcain. There were a few more too, and I'll gladly come back to see them all. I was helped out by the lovely gentleman, and he was friendly and not pressuring at all. We had a wonderful chat about Seiko and his collection. I wasn't looking for a watch, but the natos and the straps they had were pretty nice. I ended up walking out with a nice nato for my field watch. The price was pretty good too, especially for a store-brand nato! Come by and check it out if you're ever in the area!
