I had a stereo installed about 15 years ago and it was about 15 - 20mins and it was finished and working great. I had brought in a retro stereo to install in my car but the guy was a little no really interested . He gave me a quote that was high for the installation as well as they are now "super" busy with custom work that they only do appointments now. The cost of installing and the hours to work on it were going to cost more then the radio and speakers combined. First of all the mechanic was rude and acted like he's running the business. Maybe he is and if he is he needs to calm down and really think about what comes out of his mouth every time he speaks. I purchase an installation online with a third party for $120 to change my headlights, and they refer me to this business. Once I got there, they attempted to charge me $550, three times the cost I had already paid. The salesperson did not consider the original price and was borderline rude as he explained this. My tire got a gash in the tire on the freeway. No shop carried tires that fit 24 inch rims. A and G really saved us. They had an extra 24" tire and they didn't charge us an arm and a leg. I drove to this East LA shop to buy some new rims/tires for my ride. Always curious about the place because I hear the commercials & endorsements on Power 106 all the time. I stopped in on a Friday afternoon to check out the place. It took a while to get anyone to stop and help me but they eventually did and I was given some catalogs to browse through. Once I selected the rims I wanted, they placed the order and said they would be in on Monday. I could stop by anytime after Monday afternoon and it would take only an hour to put on. This was important to me because I have a busy schedule and I was bringing my wife and 2 year old daughter along. When it came to paying for the rims, I was disappointed that they didn't accept American Express. So I left a down payment and I later paid the balance with my Mastercard. Now, I told the guy there that I would be back on Tuesday afternoon to have the new rims put on. He said it would be no problem because the rims would be delivered on Monday. Come Tuesday afternoon (1:30 pm), the rims are still not there and I have to wait in their "lobby" area watching a bootleg of "Fast & Furious" a couple times with my family. So finally at 4pm my car is ready and we're ready to get the hell out of there. The rims look good and the sales associate (Javier) did his best to apologize for the inconvenience of having us wait so long and making me late for work . He offered a discount next time we come back. Overall, the place is nothing special. They definitely over hype it on the radio. I'm happy with my new rims and I'll most likely return and give them another shot. read more

Had the displeasure of using this place to add air ride suspension back in 2020 I dropped off 2 cars think their reputation from the early 2000s and 90s would show and prove. The place is now ran by the original owners kids. My classic mint condition caddy sat uncovered sun beaten in their lot for 4 months from nov 2020 to feb 2021 when they finally decided to work on it. They put used parts on BOTH my cars they spliced into my professionally done stereo wiring done by BEST BUY voiding my warranty I later discovered after several trips to credible shops they had dont the job wrong. Alfred and marc addressed me with disrespectful text profane laced conversation blocking me and ignoring my issue. Im also black I feel this may be a factor. Both cars are in repair to correct the work and document. Ill be following up via lawyers. This is dangerous and scammie. Ive spent thousands repairing both cars replacing 4 front bags on the caddy and 2 on the Lincoln. These guys use the line "we stand by our work" when u mention warranty. I paid upfront and in cash thinking I was supporting a legendary Los Angeles favorite. ITS PLENTY BETTER SKILLED PLACES TO GO IN THE VALLEY AND INLAND DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE. I took my van in to get a TV mounted today in the morning at 9am. I was probably the first one there for the day. They were still setting up the flags outside and I was told to wait while they open up to get attended. So I waited about 10minutes and got charged $100 which was pretty fair. I didn't feel like staying there until it was done because of the heat and I had my 2 year old daughter and I am 8months pregnant. So I decided to leave my van there while they did the work. It is now 12:56. So it's been about 4 hours now. Which seems like a good enough time to call back and check if it's ALMOST done. But NOPE. Not even ALMOST done. Just got off the phone with them and they said they 'needed' another 3 hours to work on it because my van had a Mickey Mouse job done with the previous mount it had. DOES IT REALLY TAKE 7 hours to mount a tv????? I DOUBT IT, OR ELSE THEY WOULD OF CHARGED ME $700 or at least More than $100??? I STRONGLY BELIEVE THEY DID NOT CARE FOR IT AND DID NOT GET TO THE JOB AS SOON AS THEY SHOULD HAVE. I DID PAY BEFORE LEAVING. So I don't know what's going on. The last time I took my van to get a tv mounted on it, it took a total of 2 hours max. I wonder if I had stayed there and waiting for it, it would have taken them that long??? Not to mention that when I was on the phone with them checking to see if it was almost good to go, they guy laughed when I told Him i had dropped my van off since 9am, he laughed and said, well no not at 9am it was already after 9am. YEAH 11 MINUTES after 9am. 9:11am My Receipt has the time on it. That was kind of rude. Now it's just a waiting game. I hope this experience does not get any worse as I am already a little disappointed! My only mistake was getting it mounted today, which is the only day I have to pick my husband up from work at 3pm. I honestly thought it would have been done way before that time having it dropped off at 9am. I am not trying to push their buttons because I want a good job done on my van. But disappointed is how I am feeling right now with my first time being here, and hearing so many 'great' things about this shop. Maybe customer service wasn't one of them. They got the job done, came in to get some HIDS installed and was in and out with in 45 minutes once they got the car to the area to do The install. Very professional work. No wires visible. Got a warranty for my ballast. Thank you everyone at A&G Custom Sounds. well here is an update, 3/23/2014 installation charge was $65 for the labor and $100.00 for the Canbus Ballast that were needed for the install. i had my own HID kit with bulbs but didn't have the right ballast. so here goes: I got a free T-shirt for giving them a 5 star positive yelp review on the spot and in all honesty i was very happy cause they were able to get those HIDs installed so i gladly gave them the 5 stars. i have a 2012 Hyundai genesis sedan and it is not an easy task to do. there is so much you need to remove just to get them on. in regards to the T-shirt, in my mind i felt since they took 2 hours to finally get my car in their shop from the parking lot to start working on it i should have gotten one anyways for waiting 2 hours and 45 minutes, keep in mind that it was a rainy day so ill give them some credit. the revise is due to some pricing issues that came to my attention and to some electrical and installation issues i am having now. so here we go. the first issue i noticed was that they broke 6 push pin clips that go on the radiator cover that also covers the top area of the headlights. they are "Push Pins" if you have a flat head screw driver you could have carefully removed them with out breaking them, i replaced those push pins for $8 dollars each from the dealer cause Auto zone doesn't carry anything that looks like that and that costed me $52.67 with tax included to buy them and put them on my self. the second issue i noticed that started happening a few days after the HID install is my Radio switching its source from USB music to radio or CD and then switches back to my original source but instead of my music starting from where it left off, it starts from the very beginning with the first listed artist/band every time the headlights go on. so if im listening to a song and all of a sudden my lights auto switch on, my music starts over again with a different song and different artist which is quite annoying when your jamming out to some good tunes. but because the HIDs were installed i can live with that but some people wont that's why i mentioned it. The Third and final issue i noticed was the pricing i got given for these "Canbus" HID Ballast they charged me $100 bucks for the pair because the kit i brought wasn't gonna work but i wanted them to try anyways but then the guy told me that if it doesn't work they will have to charge me another $65 bucks to re do the labor work and the extra $100.00 bucks for the ballast so instead of risking it i took their bate. i got my kit from eBay and i have always used "XENTEC" branded 35 watt HID kits because they work and they do the job. the shop guys used the bulbs that came in my kit but just put the different ballast on of course. i then find out that the ballast they sold me for $100.00 bucks were being sold on eBay for $52.00 bucks a pair! i could have saved me a lot of money but that's not what these guys are about. i do feel ripped off due to the fact that they over charged me for the ballast by $48 bucks and broke 6 push pins and dint bother to tell me about it. so in reality with my push pins replaced i paid $52.67 + $165.00 that totals = $217.67 and that's with my own bulbs. so if you go here just do your research on your kit and find out what kid of kit or ballast your car really needs and search around and find the best price. read more

This place is horrible. Took my car in a while back to get the windows tinted. Initially I thought they had done a good job. After waiting a couple of days to let the tints dry, I began hear screeching noises when rolling my windows up and down. Waited a couple more days... Same thing. Took it back and got them to re-do... Didn't fix the problem. Began looking around the windows and noticed they invited the rubber lining. On BOTH doors. The rubber from within the door frame was rubbing against the tint and scratching it. I took it back and they denied that they had anything to do with it. They didn't even know how to fix the problem. I've since purchased a new car but would never bring it back here read more

This is the same A&G place that you hear on POWER 106 FM. I was referred to this place by a co worker just to get my tints done to my car. I dropped it off on a Saturday morning and it was ready by the afternoon. So far, so good (knocking on wood). I'm pretty pleased with the work that was done to my car. My other friend got his windows tinted here as well and he seems very pleased with it. They do all sorts of work to your car here (customizing that is). Even though I only tinted my windows, I saw that they offered many other types of work available to pimp out your ride such as rims/tires, paint, sound systems, etc. I'm sure whatever you need, they can get. This was one of my worst experiences in my lifeeeeeeee!!!!! I beg you not to come unless you want to see your car in 10 yearssss but in all honesty I brought in my 2003 wrx for a rebuilt engine and rebuilt head gaskets and I payed them upfront thinking that I was going to get my car on the exact date that they told me but they got packed up so they kept giving me dates that my car was going to finished and they never got it finished, it took me 1 year going in to the 2nd year not seeing my car to pulling it out and getting a refund and the crazy part about not seeing my car in a WHOLE YEAR is that when I went to go get my refund and my car back to tow it NOTHING WAS DONE!!!!! They literally pulled out my engine and had it sitting there like if it never existed and at the same time I feel like they prioritize more expensive cars then others... it's crazyyyy like honestly I wouldn't lie about nothing like this and I learned my lesson and if you don't want to take my word you can go ahead and learn for yourself but don't me I didn't warn you. And the crazy part to is if your "low staff" then why keep bring cars In and taking peoples hard earned money if you know your not gonna work on there're cars and get them done. Honestly you guys should let people know that your "low staff" and should have a limit of how many cars you can work on before taking more in cause that's a real joke. So unprofessional. read more

I was in need of a car stereo and remebered about this place from the commercials on Power106. Stopped by to check out the prices. The manager there Mike (big scary looking dude) offered me a decent price on a good stereo. After talking for a while about music and djing he offered to lower it and price match another spot down the street. I was sold. He went outside and took at look at my car and noticed I didn't have my windows tinted. Never thought about getting them tinted before but saw other cars there and started thinking about it. Mike told me it would be a good idea and gave me a discount if I did all my windows and stereo all in one day, I'm sure I'm not the only one he has probably done this for. Needless to say I got both done. Car stereo works amazing. They even programmed my stations from my old stereo. Tint still looks great and they gave me a waranty on it too if it ever started bubbling up. I was in and out of there in a little under 2 hours...enough time to grab a bite to eat. I came here wanting to get my system installed and wasnt satisfied. Paid 1k total for a fix 86 that was $300 that couldn't be collaborated correctly paid $200 for nothing. Can I get that back? $400 just have my system installed wires to the battery no fuse I had to tell the main guy hey is this right?? He was pissed he even said to his workers this is trash work told me bring it back Saturday had fuses installed and said hell have it done correctly I took it back 6/1/19 Saturday they installed the speaker cool but the problem I was having was when I would drive the sound of the mufflers would pick up in the base so when I took it in they said drop it off around 9am I drop it off around 10am hoping getting it back would be better. BOY WAS I WRONG.. As I leave they're working on it then park my car in a the parking area I know I was checking my GPS 8 HOURS Parked 6:45pm I CALLED TOO SEE IF MY CAR WAS READY thinking damn this LONG!! just to get it back the same way I dropped it off... I get my car keys MARC he said yeah bro it's good too go!! I asked what was the problem he said "oh just a wire that was too close to the base you know but it's good now" as I'm driving same problem I go back inside pull MARC and say what was fixed??? Its doing the same thing! he calls the "technician" hes like oh yeah I know what the problem is bring it back Tuesday 6/4/19 Il have it fixed SUPER DISAPPOINTED UPSET FURIOUS PISSED so I drive my Happy ass to downtown central Ave to have it fixed less then 30 minutes I paid $60 to have the problem resolved ALSO they're looking at the work and say WHO EVER DID THIS BOY IS THIS TRASH WORK!!
