I needed a bit of an odd move. Had to move out, go into storage then move in a month later. How, Vinny and another guy (I'm sorry I forgot his name) helped both times and I can't say a bad thing about any of them. Pretty sure it was this company that helped my family move, if not I apologize. Damaged products, 1 tv and the rest were furniture, 5 products in total. Armando helped us for a last minute move which we were thankful for but after receiving some damaged items and dealing with his attitude, I would never recommend this company to anyone. Furniture dented, scratched, taken apart, missing screws, TV scratched however takes no responsibility for it and offers nothing for compensation, claims that customer is only wasting time over minuscule things. We used A&J a couple of weeks ago to move from Queens to LI; they were fantastic. I spoke with Joe, one of the owners, a few times before to arrange everything- he was always very cheerful and all around nice guy. On the day of our move, they all showed up right on time and started right away. They never once complained that there were more boxes than my orginal projection (oops!) nor did they complain about having to schlep up and down our walk-up bldg. When we arrived in our new home, they stacked everything and even sorted the boxes for us (ie: Books were with books and there was a walk space around everything for easy access). I would definitly use these guys again and refer them happily!! (Thanks A&J!) PS: my only suggestion would be to get mattress covers for the move. read more

Stay away from this outfit. They moved me in May, and broke my 55inch 3D LG TV while moving it. I asked for a claim which the owner sent out twice by certified mail and I didnt get either one (dont ask me why a blank form requires certified mail). Finally, I got tired of waiting and bouht myself a new TV in July. I filled out the form and was informed by the owner (Joe Kramer) that in order to get reimbursed, I would have to: 1- return the broken tv to him 2-buy the exact same model and show him the receipt. 3-show him the receipt for the broken tv The TV model was discontinued yet he kept insisting on the fact that i had to buy the exact same model and he had to see it! I told him that that was ridiculous, and to show me his insurance policy where it said that....needless to say I am still waiting to see the policy. It seems clear that this company has little regard for their customers, if they can pull this. He had us going in wild goose chases for months looking for various paperwork and when we produced what he wanted, he decided to request something else from us. I mentioned that i was going to give him an appropriate Yelp review, and I got back outright threats to report me to all kinds of organizations with made up lies about "illegal activities" he witnessed while moving us! This guy is a real piece of work and the fish stinks from the head down...Pass this one by or you too will be spending your time trying to right any problems they cause to your belongings. I used this company yesterday for my move from Lynbrook to Valley Stream. Joe and his crew went above and beyond to make my move as easy as possible. We used A & J Moving to move some office furniture from Melville to Garden City. They gave us a good estimate and were extremely helpful in dealing with the management offices at both buildings. I spoke with Joe, the owner, who was nothing but knowledgeable and professional in all aspects, especially with the unexpected challenges of moving an enormous desk through tiny office corridors. Guy stated he was owner & president, but SO RUDE. during our conversation his phone cut out and i couldnt barely hear him..kept stating "i cant hear you can you stop for a minute" over and over..when I could finally hear him his response was "you dont want to listen" very rudely, every time I asked him a question he didnt answer but just spoke over me. had a TERRIBLE attitude..if that how he deals with customers he doesnt even have yet I cant imagine how he would speak with paying customers. I called A&J to get a quote for a local move to Glen Cove. Joe gave me an all inclusive rate, which I did compare to other moving companies servicing the area. After learning how there are fuel surcharges, costs for tape, additional travel time and estimates that were moving targets - I decided to use A&J because Joe promised to honor his quote. The A&J Team arrived on time, blanketed and taped all furniture and valuables properly, loaded the truck for proper peak to avoid shifting and damage, and were on the road quickly. The move-in at the destination was less than ideal for A&J -there was an unforeseen issue (two trucks and one loading dock). As the consummate professionals this team are, they worked with the other movers to broker an arrangement, while I talked with the office to get the mover's agreement approved. In the end they brough the job in about 40 minutes over the estimate - which was far better than I had expected after learning of the delay. They are a terrific moving company with a great philosophy of service. Joe is true to his word on quotes and service. I did not pay for matching t-shirts and khakis and unfulfilled promises, and was fortunate to get instead a team with more than 50+ years of moving experience and it showed. Every item was delivered to me in the same condition they left the house, plus our move finished first of the two trucks that day. Thank you Joe, Vinnie and Fred!!! read more
