I recently brought my Lexus there telling them the a/c was blowing heat and I need it fixed. They called me back to tell me that my car had a several zones that needed to be checked and that at paying them an hourly rate I'd potentially be looking at spending thousands to repair it. I was also told that because my car was older (2009) that I may not want to spend money repairing it. I was charged a diagnoses and asked to pick up my car. I brought it home and googled how to fix it myself. With spending less than $100 and less than 10 minutes of labor, I changed the cabin filter ( packed with dirt & leaves), I popped the hood and cleared where the air flow foes into the car ( packed with dirt & leaves) and put in a can of refrigerant. What do you know, my a/c now works perfectly. I brought the same Lexus to them a few weeks ago to fix a shaking coming from the front driver side that caused a light to come on the dash. They called me back to tell me that my car had 4 codes, something going on with my exhaust and as far as the front end I needed struts of which they could only find 1 at a cost of $1000. And again told my car isn't worth investing in/ charged me a $131 diagnostic fee for a incorrect diagnoses. I took it to a mechanic on State st. in New Haven who for $1000 fixed my front and threw in a oil change.. The crazy part was I DIDN'T NEED STRUTS!!!! Aside from I replaced both air filters under the hood and what do you know.. NO MORE CODES!!! I recently brought my BMW X5 there to be repaired for going into limp mode. After about 3 visits and $100's spent on they're guessing, I never got 2 miles of driving out of it. I took the truck to State St. and by my explaining the problem without the truck with me, he told me I had a bad throttle body. Less than $400 later my truck is back on the road like it never left. I brought my mothers Jeep Liberty there to repair the heat/ charged $100's and 2 weeks later she has no heat. I sent my sister there to have her Hyundai Sonata, they told her the repair cost would exceed the value of the vehicle and that she should consider buying another car. She took the car to State St. and for a fraction of what Bruneau's was charging, put in another engine and had her back on the road in a couple of days.. I've been riding with this business for years, recommending them to several people over the years and how I've been dealt with lately is unfortunate but my business and support isn't valued there. I've learned that either I'm a better mechanic than they are (I'm not a mechanic) or they put forth no effort in fixing my cars.

WARNING! DISASTROUS MACHINE MOVERS!!! Bruneau's Garage was…read morehired to move a 2000 pound Milling Machine from Milford to Fairfield. They advertised as "Professional Machine Movers". Bruneau's was hired to move a heavy machine into our garage and I explained there was no loading dock or forklift to offload the machine. Having owned a machine shop and with experience of moving dozens of heavy machinery I specifically gave them instructions not to use a flatbed truck. When the flatbed arrived with one driver I immediately contacted the supervisor to cancel the delivery. I was gruffly told the worker was qualified. Ten minutes later the machine had tipped over the end of the truck and was spewing toxic hydraulic fluid onto my driveway. The machine was DESTROYED. I immediately called the supervisor back to get help as the fluid was damaging the asphalt and we needed a spill absorber. His response was to demand $3000 to send a second truck. I informed him I was not going to pay for his mistake and he threatened he would drive down himself to collect the money. I explained I would call the police and report the chemical spill to DEEP unless he resolved the spillage. A few hours later a second truck arrived and did bring an oil absorber. Unfortunately the damage was done. A $3000 machine was destroyed and completely unusable. The driveway needed a $1000 repair. I never received an apology from the supervisor nor any reimbursement for my losses. In short; DO NOT HIRE THIS FIRM.

The interior of my car became flooded up to my ankles. I drove around looking for a place that would hopefully be able to at least get the inside dry so that it wouldn't start to stink in my car. I happened upon One Stop, and instead of making me feel like a jack@$$, which would have been well-warranted, they were very helpful and vacuumed out the interior of my car. The floor mats needed extra time, and so they offered to hang them up in the shop for a couple days free of charge. Upon my return to pick them up, I brought the guys some coffee, which is nowhere near enough to thank them for their kindness. I remember I left it with Bill and went away on vacation for two weeks. I got back to an unanticipated $100 bill for something very minor. From that day on I have never gone to another mechanic. His work is always nose on and he's always been honest with me. I can't speak high enough and give enough praise to Bill and One Stop. Being a Realtor who puts 40k + miles a year on my cars I have been there quite a bit.

After all that time, they finally took it for a test run and said it needed a wheel hub ...they said it would be another 1K on top of already 3.3k that was already a few hundred over the estimate. In the meantime was using my backup old Ford that had gotten a flat tire...they charged me another 1.9k, $500 over what I expected to pay. To make things worse they damaged something on the truck, as when I would go backward to the right, I would feel a rubbing or grinding. Also, the steering wheel became loose and really shaky. The next day, it began to sound like the brakes were going as they began to grind, when they were hardly used and newish brakes. Going down a small incline, the breakline popped. They took no responsibility for it. I had another shop tow me and repair the damage they did. Finally, I picked up the Subaru, I drove two doors down, and the battery light went on. Now, the battery and brake lights go on as the headlights dim, and the security alarm is set off uncontrollably, not being able to turn it off or turn my car on, leaving me stranded in the Shop Right parking lot. I had to use a hack that another garage told me to do, because Classic Coach doesn't return a call an hour after I picked the car up, nor ever, not the next day. As classic ...the wheel hub still isn't fixed, but I don't want them near my car, and I'm taking it to a different garage that fixed the truck that Classic Coach broke and charged me for. On top of all this, I had to rent a car for one week. Classic coach replaced the radiator but did not put any antifreeze or coolant in the reservoir, foutunately I discovered it because I popped the hood as the car drove terribly. The male mechanics in the shop are very honest, as I had money and valuable things there that were not touched. I especially would not recommend them if you are paying out of pocket and you do not have deep, deep pockets. I dreaded dealing with a woman by the name of Lauren, who is in the office, who I found to be pushy, insensitive, and controlling ( would not let me talk to the mechanics who worked on my car, insisted that I buy road-only tires for my truck that goes off-road at times, and she exhibited other strange behavior).

They kept it another day made the corrections. The next day I went to pick it up. The engine was making noise. The mechanic came out and said it was air in the transmission lines it will work it's way out. Well it didn't. I took it to my mechanic, and they found that they did not replenish the transmission fluid and it was down 2 1/2 quarts of fluid. Then I took the van on vacation while on the road the check, engine light came on. Brought it to the neared dealership to check the code and found there was a cooling fan for the transmission not working and it's wire harness not connected. Also wires going to a computer were loose. I cannot recommend them.

I GPS everything and the address I visited for the first time was within your posting. Change your sign so people don't park there. Businesses should not have to post signs that not everybody pays attention to. I had no reason to expect my car would be taken. Not good business. I have a 2007 Ford Freestar that had stopped shifting properly so I brought it to RPM…read moretransmissions.mike,the owner was friendly and told me that the car needed a transmission rebuild and that it would cost $2200 dollars.Four days later I received the car back and all was fine.The car worked well for about a month and then suddenly stopped moving.I had the car towed(at mt exspense back to RPM transmission.It sat there for two weeks and I was told that it was an engine computer and not the transmission.Four hundred dollars and a new computer later the car was no better.Another two weeks and I get a call saying that they couldn't find the issue with the transmission.Now even though I have a full warranty they install a used transmission and want to charge an additional nine hundred dollars.Then they bargained it down to two hundred so that they could pay their mechanic that came in on the weekend to do the work.Then Mike(the owner)proceeded to scream and yell at me for almost ten minutes.When I finally got in the van to drive it away there was a heavy smell of marijuania.They must have smoked in the van while they were test driving it.I am(was) a repeat customer and will never reccommend any one to RPM.
