Today, I'm in the mood to write good reviews for all the nearby pharmacies that I frequent after having a terrible experience at the Walgreens on Broadway. I realize I took these other pharmacies for granted. In comparison, this CVS and the Walgreens on El Camino have (in my experience) had consistently decent customer service and have always been well stocked. This CVS seems to frequently ask for customer service feedback after each visit. I commend CVS on making an effort to improve their customer service experience. I always feel welcome and greeted by the associates working at this store and the workers seem helpful when I ask questions. Their pharmacy staff is not as friendly, especially the same two people who work with customers...but they are OK. The interactions with them do not dissuade me from visiting this store. Probably out of all the nearby pharmacies, this one is my favorite both for vaccines and quick and friendly service. read more

as a provider calling a script in for a patient that is traveling to California this has been by far the worst CBS I have ever dealt with the pharmacist. Asher was not checking the messages and mine was called in almost 3 hours earlier. Finally while I was calling in the script for the second time and he kept telling me talk slower talk slower talk slower my patient was trying to let me know. Oh it's taken care of. They finally listen to the messages which was three hours later I wouldn't even give this Pharmacy a one star rating but that's what you have to give. Hi, I'm a bit confused. I tried to go in to grab some shampoo about 15 minutes before closing, but a worker was standing at the door and wouldn't let me in. He just shook his hands at me, implying I wasn't allowed inside, without offering any explanation. It was really confusing and felt pretty rude. A simple verbal explanation would've gone a long way instead of just waving me off like that. read more

For the past five years, I've been a loyal customer of this pharmacy, and up until recently, I was satisfied with both the service and the convenient location. I often appreciated the assistance of a clean-shaven male pharmacist in his late 30s sporting a razor-shave haircut. He was knowledgeable, put patients needs first, and often helped apply the manufacturer discounts. The latter saved me lots of money. For instance, my $200 Finasteride would become approx. $20 after the manufacturer discounts. Unfortunately, my recent experience was quite different. I was informed by a female pharmacist, who appeared to be in her 40s and wearing blue scrubs, that CVS pharmacists could no longer assist customers in looking up manufacturer discounts. She ended up sending me home without any help. Upon arriving home, a quick search revealed a plethora of digital price incentives available for my medication. Frustrated, I returned to the pharmacy, only to endure a chaotic experience. To redeem my discount coupon, I was shuffled between three different windows -- from the pickup to the dropoff window and back again. During this process, the pharmacist even asked me to wait for another drive-thru customer, apparently signaling that the driver's time was more valuable than my in-store visit. When I attempted to share my feedback about the disorganized experience, the pharmacist rejected my concerns. It took three requests to get a customer survey coupon, and the original pharmacist who sent me home remained silent watching the entire ordeal from the sidelines. The disappointing experience has prompted me to switch to the Costco pharmacy. Its medication is cheaper and the experience is less frustrating. BTW, Is there a district manager reviewing our customer reviews on here? I hope that they take a deeper look into this CVS location and its new policy prohibiting its pharmacists from locating the manufacturer discounts and by doing so reinforcing the drug industry price gauging practices. read more

I have this pharmacy a five star review.. now I've changed my mind 100%.. I've been taking clonazepam for 35 years... I have epilepsy and if I don't take the medication, I could have a fatal seizure.. I was taken to the the hospital on 8/13 and in the ambulance I must've lost the medication from transport.. I let the pharmacy know.. they still refused to give me my medication and they said I can pick it up on 8/18right now. I'm having bad withdrawals I called today. I asked if I could please pick up my medication and I told the girl look I'm in serious shape. I can't just wait till tomorrow. She said 8/18 now it says 8/21.. what strange is A lot of my refills are missing as well unfortunately, this pharmacy is putting me at risk of having very fatal seizures.. I'll have to go to the emergency room and hope that they will help me out.. what a nightmare!! This is not the first time I've had a pharmacy. Do this kind of stuff because it's a controlled medication. They hold my life in their hands. I think it's cruelty because I'm an epileptic and without the medication of a benzodiazepine you can't just cold turkey a personal off of it and that's what they're doing.. read more

I told her what I was looking for and she was kind enough to look everywhere for 15 minutes, on the shelves in different departments and on her computer. I went to this store to purchase a Veteran's Day card. I found more than an aisle filled with greeting cards for all occasions: Halloween, Thanksgiving, loss of a pet, Spanish cards, etc. Not a single card for Veteran's Day!!! I spoke with the manager on duty. She indicated that they didn't carry Veteran's Day cards... while I don't presume to understand the intricacies of finding card distributors, I found a Veteran's Day card at a different store - not a CVS. So it's not impossible to do. I think it's a real shame that CVS doesn't make an effort to be stocked with cards to celebrate those who have done so much to make sure we all continue enjoying our freedoms in this country. Rarely can I say that pharmacy staff has gone out of their way to do something for me, but these ladies went out of their way several times - first, to get me medicine that was discontinued; second, to get me a refund when my insurance wasn't processed the first time; and, third, to make sure the medicine I need is there for me. It was the best, and nicest, service I think I've ever received at any pharmacy. I'll be back. TIP: They have one of those funny blood pressure machines. Yeah! read more

I will start by saying the pharmacy personnel are pleasant, this is really the only positive In my experience using this pharmacy over the past two years. The pharmacy appears to be very disorganized, the wait time is substantial and the pharmacists continually grill me why my physician prescribed certain medications. I may expect too much and am getting old - I miss the days when your doctor called a script in and it was ready within a few hrs (at most), not 4 days and then having to justify why your doctor prescribed the medication requested. Why so inconvenient, CVS? It is the closest pharmacy to my house and I only come here because of the short distance. I guess I was spoiled by the Longs Pharmacy in Foster City before I moved. Longs had a self-service kiosk, kind of like a vending machine for meds. This was SUPER convenient to those who got monthly refills. Don't have to deal with lines, can go any time.. ANY TIME. I HATE how this pharmacy is CLOSED ON SUNDAYS. You know, for those who work, Sundays are usually the day for errands. Why so inconvenient, CVS? And now that the place is under renovation, parking is such a pain. the staff are nice, but gees, why so inconvenient, CVS? read more

My previous review was 5 years ago when I had recently been diagnosed with breast cancer and was having surgery, Chemo & Radiation. I was a member of Walgreens and was trying to decide if it would be best for me to switch to CVS and as you can see from my previous review in 2019 they were very rude and not interested in answering my questions. Well, it is now 2024, 5 years later and I am cancer free and CVS on Delaware in San Mateo is my Pharmacy. They are the preferred pharmacy for my Insurance so I get great pricing. When I go to pick up my prescriptions I always hope that Janet and John are working. John has a great sense of humor and always makes me laugh. He is very helpful and answers all of my questions. Janet is the BEST! No matter how busy they are she always stays very calm and takes care of her clients and stays very calm. Not easy to do when this small pharmacy can get so busy and demanding! At CVS where 4 Latina girls walk in with backpacks. Cashier tells them to leave their bags at the door. White Lady behind them asks if she has to also. Cashier says "no ma'am just the immigrants". I walk out of the line dropping my items. Cashier asks if I will be back or should they put my items away. I told her "I refuse to give my money to a company that employees racists". Cashier says she is afraid they will shoplift. I ask "are you afraid that white lady will shoplift?" Latina girls and other wonderful immigrants in line applaud. I walk out. read more

Refilling a prescription should be simple; but in this place, it's an adventure. Today's adventure involved: two trips on two different days; a wait at the counter, because nobody had dealt with my dropped off prescription for an entire day, and they started processing it only when I showed up; dealing with three different short-tempered, rude employees, who were clearly annoyed that a customer had showed up; and getting yelled at by the pharmacist - from several feet away - when I voiced a (very mild) complaint. The last time, one of my medicines was not in stock. This involved several trips over 2 weeks; several talks with the employees; and twice-daily phone calls from their automated system to come pick up my prescription - which, according to the employees, wasn't there yet. I had to block the number, because the automated system was making phone calls back to back and getting through my phone's "do not disturb" setting. read more

I tried to buy Tylenol and Alka Seltzer from the Drive Through to avoid entering to the store and the guy denied me service. I don't want to enter the store during this time. No one else was on the line outside but was easy for him to send me inside. read more

This review is for this particular CVS. I'll admit that this store is super close to my home so it's very convenient for me to shop and fill my prescriptions there. Too often pharmacies are so busy they don't have time to provide personal service to each and every customer. This store is an exception to the rule. They're kind and professional and often greet customers by their name. If you're as old as I am you've had to visit a pharmacy often in your lifetime. You know that customers can be understandably anxious and concerned about their prescriptions. Some customers, sadly, manifest their anxiety into rude behavior. The pharmacists and staff at this CVS handle all types of customers with calm and care. I'm grateful to the staff here and highly recommend this CVS to others. Five well deserved stars! read more

Purpose of THIS review is to give kudos to pharmacy tech Sam. Sam Sam Sam!!! I made a mistake on a refill and it was sent to LA. Place was busy but Sam treated me like a valued customer. He quickly filled my rx, working like a speed demon! I was told the usual '15 minute wait' but he had me out in 5 minutes! I mostly appreciate the effort and the message he sent. In general - I've been using this pharmacy for the past 6 months and my overall experience is likely a 3.5 star rating. I VERY much appreciate solid customer service so poor service is equally disappointing. I've only had one 'bad' experience and it was with a pharmacist. I brought it to her attention and she still seemed lackadaisical. But I've also had several awesome experiences with pharmacy techs. Weekend pharmacy hours are shorter than I'd prefer (5pm Sat/6pm Sun) so I may be transferring my prescriptions. But truly, the service received by the techs at this store may keep me from making that decision. Parking is easy. Store is spacious. The few times I've checked out at registers have been pleasant. read more

I live a couple blocks away from CVS, and only come here for the sheer convenience if I don't feel like driving too far. The other "one-star" reviews are right -- they DON'T care about you or your business. Thank god I get my prescriptions at Walgreens (maybe you guys should too..?) As far as the customer service....Be prepared to wait in line for 15 minutes while the employee takes their sweet time. There are 2 or 3 employees that I've come across that are nice, but I haven't seen them in a looong time. Example: A few months ago, I got some digital prints from here and the cashier LITERALLY let them get stuck in the belt. Then she suddenly forgot where the envelopes were and handed me the wrong size twice. Hello, do you not know shapes and sizes? Ugh. Then she just handed me the pictures without a bag even and just had a blank stare.. no "have a nice day" or anything. There's always an average line of 9 people and rarely are there 2 check out stands open. I won't be back. It gets the job done. I had to stop in on my way to the airport and it was convenient and had what i needed. The store is kind of old, the people who work here are fine, and it is nice that it shares a shopping center with a safeway and starbucks. My major complaint is the restrooms are SO disgusting. It is honestly at the level of a public restroom at a park or something, it makes me want to think twice about the hygiene of the store as a whole. Other than that this place is fine. read more

I don't use the pharmacy here I just come because it's 5 minutes from my boyfriends house but I'm not surprised by the low rating of this store. Something is a little off about it. I like this pharmacy. The line is never that long, they always have my meds in stock and the wait for the refill is never long (if I do it last minute). I would give zero stars if i could. I became sick 11 days ago. Took a Covid test 11 days ago. First they said 2-3 days. Then 2-4. Then 2-5. Still no word on my test. Meanwhile I'm quarantining and not going to work so I don't spread it. The timing is unacceptable. I've called multiple times and have only spoken to two real people. Every other time I get a robot that hangs up on me. The first person I talked to was absolutely clueless. The second person said that they lost my test and didn't get it to the doctor until Friday (6 days after I took it). Still no results. This is absolutely unacceptable! read more

After my experience here I, will never look at cvs the same way (in a good way)! We were traveling and my father needed his meds. The pharmacist was adamant to make sure he took his prescriptions the correct way. I was so happy to see him in good hands. Furthermore, I initially came in I was greeted and was immediately greeted by a "welcome to cvs" the first I've EVER heard at any cvs store. Teresa, the manager, showed me the clippers I needed and told me to contact her if I needed anymore help. She went out of her way to help me and I could tell she was busy. The fact that she told me her name and let me know I could ask her for help shows they really care about their customersI rarely find this at any CVS. Thank you to Teresa and also to the pharmacy.
