I'm so happy I found this spot on Yelp! I am constantly in search of new shawarma places and this one truly blew me away! You order at the counter with a nice gentleman and then you grab your table. I went with the chicken shawarma wrap. When it was brought to my table, it was of a massive size and was served with very yummy golden, crispy garlic potatoes on the side. The wrap itself tasted incredible -- the shawarma was very juicy and nicely marinated. No better feeling, when a marinated chicken kabob skewer is getting fire grilled right in front of you, then gets cut up into small pieces and gets placed on your flat bread. In addition to the protein, the inside of the wrap contained some greens, a bit of cucumbers, tomatoes and onions. Some of their yummy house sauce was added into the wrap as well. All of these ingredients were nicely wrapped into their tasty, fresh thin bread. With each bite, you could taste this freshness of the ingredients and the plethora of flavors, were all beautifully working together to create this masterpiece of a shawarma. We walked in tonight for the first time (Saturday 6pm) and the owner greeted us with a huge smile. Hubby ordered the chicken combo plate and I got the beef combo plate. It took a little while to get the food, as they cooked it all fresh. And it was SO WORTH THE WAIT!! Every. Single. Thing. Was. Delicious. The meat was all so juicy and well seasoned. We love this place, we went there at night before they closed after our friend flew in from Brazil they're very accommodating. We even invited a stranger to join us for dinner as the since we had so much food and the restaurant was about to close and they only able to offer take out orders for her. Had a really bad experience with cleanliness here. The person making our food was not wearing a glove and kept disgustingly rubbing his nose and mouth then using the same hand to touch our food. First he began making the food then I watched him use a toothpick to clean his teeth while standing over the food, continued to cook then aggressively rubbed his nose with his bare hand then continued to touch the tortillas with the same hand. He had a glove on the other hand and with the gloved hand he touched the menu and counter then touched the toppings with the gloved hand. I have had shawarma last 20yrs of my life but this one was super weird - it looked like shawarma on the outside but was nothing like it on the inside. After settling into our hotel after a 5-6 hour drive from the Bay Area, as always I consult Yelp with the food offerings in Sherman Oaks. As I scroll through the options, I came across A&V Grill Kitchen, serving Armenian Kebabs, Shawarma, Wraps and Salads. What intrigued me the most was their 5 star rating on Yelp! We had to see for ourselves. It was less than a 5 minute drive from our hotel, the place was easy to find being that it was located at the corner of the shopping center. Lots of Selections, the gentleman taking our order was Verab and he explained the different meats and entrees. I was shocked to see when another Gentleman, Artur came out and showed us how long the kebab was! It was at least a foot long, and you get two per each combo plate. We wanted to try a variety so we ordered 2 combo meals, one with Lamb and Beef Shish, and the other with Beef Lula and Beef Shish, (Shish is chunk beef while Lula is Ground Beef). Combo plates come with rice, salad, hummus, and pita bread. I saw in other yelp reviews that the combo plates are plentiful so I ordered a Chicken Lula and a Pork Chap (Chop) a la carte. Hands down, one of the BEST! Food was fresh, meats were tender and flavorful! All of the extras they gave us were tasty. The Armenian Tarragon and Peach Lemonades were refreshing. The combo plate, even to-go was colorful. Highly recommend A&V Kitchen if ever in Sherman Oaks. The place is very clean, has a few tables for dine in, even have a couple of outside seating tables. You'll get to meet the hospitable owners Artur and Verab who have done very well since opening 10 months ago. Hope they would consider expanding to the Bay Area! read more

Being an authentic Armenian cuisine meets modern steet eats spot... They pull out all the stops with their menu: huge plate entrees, savory wraps, powerful salads, appetizers, and a la carte.... All the portions are big and something to celebrate. Being the veggie I am... I had to go "ham" as they say/wild with their abundance of vegetarian and vegan friendly items. The felafel (falafel) is one of note, pickled cabbage, quality pickles, Armenian salad, fries, and rice... And pita bread are all a must. The hummus is pretty mellow (or at least for my first time having it) as far as flavors when compared to the rest of their menu (that good), but still enjoyable. It seems like this new thriving spot in Sherman Oaks is doing good things. Plenty of takeout/pickup, online, plus deliver orders in flux when I walked in for my pick up via grubhub. The guy manning the grill, orders, and register was a one man show! Caps off to him! The parking lot is shared with plenty of business (like AutoZone, Oaks Beauty Studio, Alumni Barbershop, and others) on the corner of Magnolia and Van Nuys Blvd, but street parking is available as well with few restrictions.
