A&W let's stop here... pee break for all 4 of us; 2 previous rest stops were closed.

3 hour drive from Vegas. Midway point before EddieWorld. Lots of snacks and a travel business inside. Busy use of restrooms for road trippers on this MLK 3 day weekend.

We didn't have the best experience here. They were out of 4 items on their menu. The seating area was closed although it seemed clean and functional. The bathrooms were nearly out of stock of everything, except toilet paper that was just placed on the side railing rather than in the holder. To end on a lighter note, the employee was polite and the food tasted fine!

What could improve yelp asks? Well EVERYTHING! We ordered a hamburger, hotdog and a regular float for all this we paid $23.00!!!! And what did we get for that price? Plain hamburger with pickes, mustard and ketchup (about $8.00) also a plain hot dog with no mustard or anything else ($5.00) the best thing was the float, but I noticed that their ice cream machine looked dirty. The hamburger was tasty but not 8.00 tasty. Overall I would not come back to this a&w location.

Small space located next to a gas station with drive-thru available. Was craving fried chicken tenders so made a quick stop. We each ordered the 3 piece with fries, chocolate shake and rootbeer float. Service was effective and received our order quick. They had different dipping sauces available; honey mustard, bbq, spicy papa sauce and ranch - they were all just ok, nothing to rave about. I enjoyed the fries and although the chicken tenders were a big size, they were also just ok. IMO they could've been fried a bit longer as they were not crispy enough but thats just my preference and what i was expecting. I had my own buffalo sauce, which made the chicken tenders tastier. May or may not return, haven't yet decided, but they do need to carry their own spicy buffalo sauce. The dipping sauce makes all the difference IMO.

Me and my girls needed to make a restroom stop as we were coming back home from Vegas and landed at A&W. We were intrigued since they're known for their root beer and decided to check it out. It's connected to a gas station mart. We order the chicken tender combo and they came out hot and fresh. The French fries were well seasoned too! Honestly didn't come in with high expectations but left pleasantly satisfied.

Stopped on our way home from Vegas all excited for good 'ol fashioned A&W rootbeer. Tap was out of order! They gave us fountain root beer! There IS A HUGE DIFFERENCE! Ordered a $7 cheeseburger, got a 59 cent Mc Donald's burger! You know the ones with ketchup and a pickle slice only! I actually went to the counter because I thought they gave us the wrong burger! Girl looked at me like I was stupid. She was right! I was stupid for stopping here in the first place! NEVER AGAIN!

If you're tired of the tourist crowds and lines at EddieWorld, I recommend this place for the convenience. I ordered the pastrami sandwich with fries based on the friendly guy's recommendation inside the order window. The $14.00 price was reasonable. Service was slow, though. I guess it's because he's the only guy there taking orders and making the food. By the time I took a bite of the pastrami sandwich, the wait was worth it. The taste is what you'd expect from a "typical" pastrami sandwich made fresh. I've had some phenomenal pastramis in my lifetime, and when I say "typical", it's a complement.

(4.25 STARS)…read more Memorial Day road trips always seem to create the best random discoveries, and Pit Stop Bar & Grill absolutely delivered. Tucked away off Victor Street in Barstow, this was a fun find while driving back to Los Angeles from Vegas over Memorial Day weekend. Big props to Haley M., who was basically running a one-woman show and somehow kept the entire place moving with a great attitude and solid service. That alone made the stop memorable. The location has a cool, laid-back vibe with plenty to keep people entertained while grabbing food and drinks. They've got two billiards tables, a dart board, and all kinds of classic bar games, board games, and card games, including UNO, which is a family favorite. They also have several televisions. The food was all good too. I really enjoyed the Green Chili Burger, and everyone else in my party seemed genuinely happy with their meals as well. I felt they were trying to nickel and dime when I got the bill, i was charged for a side of ranch, a side of BBQ, and had no idea I was being up charged for the onion rings. I didn't say a word, but it hit wrong with me. .75 points deducted. What especially stood out to me, though, was the Memorial Day place setting displayed near the front entrance honoring our veterans and fallen heroes. It was simple, respectful, and genuinely touching. See my picture. That detail said a lot about the heart behind this place. If you're making the Vegas-to-LA drive and want something more memorable than the usual freeway fast-food stop, this place is definitely worth checking out. Great atmosphere, friendly energy, and one of those spots you end up talking about later.

First, and probably the most important, they don't have Diet Pepsi, but Pepsi Zero. And Pepsi Zero is just awful. And yes, I tried it. This trip, the girl taking our order seemed confused. Maybe she was new? But it didn't help that we had to explain we wanted a bowl of Chili, and even though it's not on the menu, they could sell it. I personally didn't want a burger this time, so I ordered a chicken sandwich, which is basically just chicken tenders on a bun. Not very impressed, but it wasn't as bad as Pepsi Zero. They do get credit for having a "senior" menu, which I ordered from. And I appreciate that they have tater tots. It seemed like a smaller portion, but it was actually perfect for me. I'll keep checking back, but if I see they still only serve Pepsi Zero, I might be walking over the McD's for my drink.

We came in on a Friday afternoon, around lunchtime, and were surprised to see that the place was busy! There are a lot of tourists that stop by - and rightfully so, as they have decorated the place very uniquely. We were told the wait for a table would be around 20 minutes, were handed a beeper, and were encouraged to wait by the gift shop. The gift shop offers Thrifty Ice Creams, other sweet treats, and so many different merchandise items! It was definitely a nice stop to stretch your legs and to browse around. After our beeper went off, we were escorted to our booths and met our waitress. It took her a while to come by and help us with our orders. I mean, it's lunch rush; the place inside is loud, a bit chaotic, and honestly, it just has a charm on its own. Their walls are tacked with pictures and posters, and I love the little fact booklet showing how much everything cost back in 1996. Finally, after placing our orders, the food came! We ordered grilled cheese with French fries for the kids, tuna melts, NY steak strips, and root beer float. The kids' meals were solid; they loved them, and the root beer was great and refreshing! I loved that it came first so that we could enjoy it on a really hot day! So the float was much needed. The tuna melts and the steak itself were really good, great even. The sides were okay - the corn that came with the steak seems like it came out of a can; the mashed potatoes were dense and heavy, and while it may be a great solid side, it was a bit too heavy and a bit saltier than our preference. The tuna melts came with French fries, which we upgraded to onion rings. The onion rings were delicious; we'll need a bigger portion next time! The soup of the day was clam chowder, and we appreciated that it was delicious. We were initially missing a few things for the table, but our waitress checked in on us multiple times and eventually got us everything we needed. She also explained that their dishwasher was down or having an issue, but even then, they got through the lunch rush that Friday afternoon. We finished our meal and walked through the gift shop toward the back of the diner. There, we found a duck pond with 3 ducks and a lot of turtles in the water who seemed hungry, as they approached us immediately when we looked at them, plus some neat statues and a stage! Overall, it is a neat place to stop by at least once! If you don't have time to sit down and have lunch or dinner, you can always stretch your legs in the gift shop and perhaps enjoy a thrifty ice cream or a root beer float.

Both times I have been here, I've been treated with a level of disrespect that I have rarely experienced at a restaurant. On this visit, we had a party of five. Although the signs say to seat yourself, a waitress stopped us and asked us to wait while she found us a table. That was perfectly fine. What was confusing was that the restaurant appeared to be only about half full, and I could see at least four larger tables sitting completely empty in the room where we were standing. The waitress offered another table in a different section, but it was still covered with dirty plates and leftover food from the previous guests. She explained that they would also need to place an additional chair in the aisle for our group and said she needed to check with the manager first. Then the manager came out. Before we even had an opportunity to explain anything or ask a question, he immediately began speaking to us in an insulting and confrontational manner and told us we would have to wait approximately 30 minutes for a table. We told him that was fine--we simply wouldn't wait and would go somewhere else. That should have been the end of the interaction. Instead, as we were leaving, he continued following us toward and out the door, mocking us and saying that we were all going to "cry" because we couldn't sit in his restaurant. I genuinely cannot understand treating customers this way, especially customers who had already calmly decided to leave rather than argue about the seating situation. One bad experience can happen anywhere. Two visits with disrespectful treatment is a pattern. There will not be a third.

It's a little unfair, as I can go to "the" original Tommy's whenever I'm in the area, and there's something about the original that you just can't match. Similar to Five Guys (though I think these guys came before Five Guys), everything is a double burger. What's different is the chili! While people try to eat this burger with their hands, it's meant to be eaten with a fork. As I just don't eat that much anymore, I was able to get just a single burger. My dining partner got the cheeseburger with everything. The food was good, but messy. Loved the fries. Sadly, unless a place is so amazingly good that it overshadows the fact that I'm drinking Diet Pepsi instead of Coke, it will cost a star.

Dine in: May 15, 2026…read more It's my first time trying the Original Tommy's burger restaurant. We came here specifically for the 80 cent chili cheeseburgers deal for their 80th anniversary. There was so many people waiting in line to order and also waiting for there foods. The hype of the chili cheeseburgers isn't even that awesome. It was a waste of my 2 hours+ for the foods that taste similar to sloppy joe from the cafeteria. It felt so suffocating waiting for our foods since there's so many people already waiting before us. The lighting was bright and it's pretty spacious but felt pretty off with everyone still waiting 2-3 hours+ for their orders. Its very chaotic while several customer's were going nuts because of the wait. While they were complaining to staff members when their foods coming out. We almost got our foods sooner but several women's when off on the staff for waiting x amount of hours and still didn't get the orders yet. We ended up having to wait until 10:33pm to get all our orders. We requested to get french fries first which was around 10:13pm since we're hungry. But mind you we been here waiting since 8:04pm for the whole order. We finally took our first chili cheeseburgers bite at 10:38pm. We left the restaurant by 10:59pm/11pm. The fries we requested at around 10:13pm was hot and fresh. By the time our whole order was ready to be called for us to pick up at the front counter. The batch of fries inside the box was already cold & old which tasted soggy and nasty. I don't understand how it wasn't even fresh at all since we were like the last few 10 customers left out of a few hundred after the 5pm - 7pm rush hour slot was over. We landed in the 8pm slot with only about 10 customers left or so. The customers was greedy as well who ordered multiple foods on different receipts. There was some who had stacks of receipts just for the chili cheeseburgers alone. We came here for the chili cheeseburgers(8), fries(4), Large drinks(2), and an ice cream cone but they only had cups(1). Most people only came here for the chili cheeseburgers only. The cash register lady told us we can purchase a multiple of 10 burgers per receipts. We only got 8 chili cheeseburgers since everyone was hypeing how great it was. It was just a big fat disappointment. You can literally get it elsewhere with better service and fresher taste. The chili cheeseburgers alone had so little bits of ground meat in it. I literally thought it would be on the chunky side but nope. The beef patty was small like the size of a hamburger patty at McDonald's. The buns is the only thing that was big which made the burgers looked big. They only put so little chili on each burgers as well. So the ingredients to me personally seems a bit on the cheaper side not worth the time and effort. I really don't understand how people hype how good their burgers are. The burgers and fries did not taste as fresh as I thought it would be. Everyone who's exaggerated about the chili cheeseburgers need to rethink it again. There are better burgers that taste more delicious and a bigger portion. My overall experience was definitely not that wonderful. I personally would not recommend this restaurant in general. The staff wasn't all that nice and friendly. I really don't understand the disorganized staff members and the food order arrangement was not coming out in an orderly manner. There was no intercom to call out your number. Everyone waited too long for their orders. They should have capped the multiple transactions for each customer to only one per visit. Then again everyone was so greedy. I just wondered if they were all going to eat it in one sitting. We couldn't even finish all our foods which we took the rest home for later in the week. I know we were greedy too but at least we did not have multiple receipts. The food was not completely fresh eventhough we waited for hours for the completed food order. You literally thought since they were busy shouldn't the foods be hot and fresh too. I personally think they gave us other people leftovers who ordered something differently and requested a redo for their burgers. I'm 100% sure they repackaged it with a new wrapper and gave it to us so we can consume it. I hope it's not true. I see it all the time when it usually happens behind the seen because the workers too lazy to cook more. I actually got one chili cheeseburgers with missing half a patty. I really don't know what happened to it but it was missing. So I'm assuming it probably dropped or so and they were too lazy to make more. After we got back home I had a tummy ache. I ended up having a massive diarrhea. It's a good thing I made it home before it ended up on myself. I'm thinking the chili kicked in. I will not come back here again at all. But you never know I might change my mind in the future. You can give them a try. Be your own judge. Eat at your own RISK. As of now it's a no go for me!!
