    Carne asada fries

When I first pulled up, I was a little unsure as this place was pretty deserted looking. But don't let that deter you, because the food is GREAT! The staff were super friendly and helpful when we were deciding what to get, pointing us to their burgers. I'm so glad we stopped by, don't sleep on this restaurant when you're at EddieWorld! 5/5 - Carne Asada fries, EXCELLENT crinkle cut fries. Thick, but still crispy. The toppings had everything you need from asada, cilantro, onion, tomato, cheese, sour cream. And they gave us a grilled jalapeño too! 5/5 - Cheese burgers, they looked extremely mid but upon eating??? It's as simple as burger can be but SOOO DELICIOUS!!! The patty is perfectly seasoned, the sauce is your usual burger sauce but also perfect, with your usual cheese lettuce, tomato, raw onion.

Amazing! Not only was the food incredible. But the service was too. Richard told us he and his Mother who is 79 run the place after his father passed away. She was cooking up some delicious food. The buffalo ranch chicken fries were perfection. The cheeseburger was cheesy and juicy. Fries in general were the perfect amount of softness and crunch. And the hard taco hit the spot! FLAAAAAVOR! We will come back next time through. Richard and his beautiful mother are killing the food game and I hope to continue to see them thriving! Stop by, you won't be disappointed!

If you google "hole in the wall" I hope Tita'd Burger Den pops up. This place is in the original Del Taco building and is in the middle of absolutely nowhere. We were road tripping from San Diego to Vegas and had to stop. I am so glad we did. It doesn't look like much but it was everything we needed. Family run, friendly service, good food. We ordered a burger (not photographed) which was a classic burger with lettuce, cheese, and mayo (might've been more things) and it was great. I only had a bite because I had my eyes on the loaded fries (photographed). Omg the fries. Who doesn't love loaded fries?! There was so much cheese, onion, tomato, cilantro and chili. They gave us extra peppers to try which came with a warning that the small one was extra spicy. The crinkle fries were the perfect crispiness so they could hold their own under the mound of goodness. I will stop here every time I drive to Vegas.

Looks can be deceiving. Its and old place but its where the original Del Taco got its start back in l, I believe 1961. Its a Burger place now but still have tacos :) Love the old cool sign on the top of the building. Service was so friendly, with a big smile from young guy with a lot of spirit at 10:30-10:45 am. Menu had breakfast items too, (like breakfast burritos). Lunch and dinner items seemed no problem at 10:30am as well. I ordered an asada taco and a regular hard shell (deep fried) taco w ground beef, and a Coke. All were very tasty. Location is just down the street from Eddie World, so if you want a great breakfast, taco, burger, pastrami sandwich, or other items, go there! Picture of menu(s) are also attached!

I LOVE Del Taco and when I looked at places to stop on the way to Las Vegas, Tita's Burger Den is the site of the original Del Taco so I had to make a stop. Although it no longer is a Del Taco, Tita's serves classic American food to complement the road trip. It's located off the beaten path so you probably won't stumble upon the place unless you are actively mapping to go here. It's a family-run establishment and I've never been to such a unique place where it's so low-key but the same time historic for being the site of a fast-food chain. The menu is fairly simple but the food was surprisingly so good! I was definitely not expecting much but my expectations were truly blown away. The cheeseburger was delicious! Just your standard burger with some mayo and it just hit the spot so well. And then the chili cheese fries were sooo goood! The freshness of the cilantro and tomatoes adds so much. They even added some additional spicy peppers on top. The experience itself was well worth a stop and between the food and the desert-like area around, you truly feel like you've been transported to some magical food haven mirage that is in fact real.

Tita's Burger Den is a must stop by place if you're traveling past Yermo and the Barstow area. This restaurant is the original Del Taco. It's between Peggy Sue's Dinner and Eddie's World. Food is pretty limited from Primm to Victorville. There are only a few locations to eat at and this is one of your best choices on the way to LA. This is a locally owned business. We had a chance to meet the son Wednesday afternoon during our drive to LA. Food selections may be limited as it gets towards the end of the day. During our visit, we couldn't order any tacos as they were out of ingredients for the day. Instead, we decided to order a few burgers and Onion rings. There is a drive-thru at Tita's Burger Den. We opted to get out of the car, stretch our legs for a bit, and place the order at the restaurant. The wait time wasn't long as everything is cooked fresh to order. It was approximately 15 minutes for the order since there were several other parties ahead of us. The cheeseburger was fantastic! I had ordered my cheeseburger with just cheese and ketchup. The bun was super fresh! The burger was yummy and the cheese was melted all over the beef patty. The burger filled me completely for the remainder of our trip to LA. My partner enjoyed the Onion Rings tremendously. It was the best onions rings he had ever had! If you're visiting Tita's Burger Den, you should call to make sure they're open. Right now their hours are limited and when we spoke to the gentleman during our visit on Wednesday, The Burger Den is currently not operating during the weekends due to catering events. Also, the burger Den only accepts cash. The price was inexpensive, less than $18.00 for the entire order! Hopefully on our next trip, we'll get a chance to stop by again so we can try out some tacos!!

I finally had a chance to stop by Burger Den. This place has been one of my must-eat/locally owned "hole in the wall" restaurants. If that's not your thing, then maybe this isn't the review for you. If you've never been to Yermo, then you know food is limited in the area so this is a hidden gem not too far from the i-15. Let me start by saying what everyone has already mentioned and repeat that they only accept cash. I hardly ever have cash, so if you find yourself needing to take out cash swing by EddieWorld which is only a minute away and has an ATM located right at the entrance. Customer service is one of the highlights of this business. I love that a son & mom duo is running the show & I can get behind supporting this business after learning the background story of this place. We opted to order at their window instead of the drive-thru and we were instantly greeted as we walked up and the owner gave us time to look over the menu. Of course, I already knew I wanted carne asada fries after reading previous reviews. The fries didn't disappoint. The meat and salsas were flavorful and I can't resist when they're served with crinkle fries (ode to del taco). I appreciate that they weren't stingy on the meat or toppings, so every bite had a bit of everything. There were enough fries for me to have them for lunch and then the rest for dinner (pro tip: throw them in the air fryer for 5 minutes to reheat). I also really liked their milkshakes which reminded me of the original McDonald's shake! The wait for our food wasn't too bad even with multiple vehicles coming and going through the drive-thru. There was ample parking and they conveniently had three long dining tables/benches if you choose to enjoy your meal there. I inquired about their hours and the owner mentioned they are open from 8 am - 6 pm for now and should extend once they have extra help soon. There's a phone number on the photo of the menu, so feel free to call ahead to double-check the hours or to place a phone order. Also, if you're heading over with the intent of stopping by for a specific menu item, you can call ahead to check it's availability because being located by both Fort Irwin and MCLB Barstow means they are frequented by marines and soldiers so items become limited throughout the day.

This may change come February, but call to check since things seem to change daily nowadays...

CA$H ONLY. I honestly don't remember how Tita's Burger Den landed on my radar, but I bookmarked this bad boy prior to the pandemic, and finally made a visit. Lover of burgers and fries, I noticed all of the 5-star reviews for this little out of the way place in Yermo, located on...Yermo Road. At first, I wasn't sure if they were open since I saw one lone car in the dirt lot, and the windows appeared to be closed, but it's always good to check. No sooner had I approached, the window slid open and a friendly younger guy was there to help. I told him it was my first visit and I wanted to check over the menu (currently in red and blue). I asked about the crunchy shell tacos and he apologized, saying since the military came through earlier, they were out of shells so he sent someone to go pick more up. I had done my research so I had a feeling some things may run out on the early side due to the nearby base, so this was understandable. I joked by asking if they ran out of cheeseburgers (they didn't) so I opted for this with no onions, mayo/thousand island over ketchup/mustard, along with a side of fries. This is when he brought up that they accept: CA$H ONLY! I asked if this place was still called Tita's (I only saw the sign with Burger Den on it) and he said it was, and it was named after his mother. I wish I got this guys name; he was super sweet and helpful. Off he went to prepare the food, so I wandered the small property, checking out the train tracks not too far away, and the workers near them. Within 10 minutes, two construction workers approached and my food was ready to go. Total was an awesome $6.75. I told him I'd be back on my return*, and he made sure that I was aware of the edited hours for the time being. Let me tell you how good this cheeseburger was. It wasn't too large where stuff was falling out everywhere, the lettuce was especially crisp and refreshing, and the sauce wasn't overwhelming where it would be dripping a mess all over. Of course the beef was delicious. As for the fries, they were the crinkle kind, and a little over-salted where I may be able to skip these next time. But there will be a next time, whether I get a repeat burger or finally get a chance to try the tacos. Menu and hours are as of January 11th, 2022 so you may want to call about the hours if you make a trip out. He said the hours should return 8a-8p in February, but with the way things are going, this could change once again. So glad this tiny joint survived the pandemic and I hope mama Tita is doing well. One more time...ca$h only. *Sadly, I didn't make it on the return trip since I passed Yermo way past 3p, but I will hope to on my next trip.

UPDATE: great food! Waiting on my food, but the man that took my order was very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. So far I'm very happy! (And there's no lard in the beans - yay!)

Nice little place to stop at on your drive to Las Vegas. All of the food we had tasted really fresh and delicious. We had called earlier to confirm whether they had milkshakes. They usually do, but were out that day. The guy that helped us both over the phone and when we got there was so nice and welcoming. Really helped me out by creating a veggie burrito for me. The pricing was unbelievably affordable.

I pride myself in being a purveyor of historical and kitschy establishments. This has to be my 150th time driving to Vegas from LA, and this is the first time I visited this gem in the desert. As the original location of the 1st Del Taco, how has this been off my radar for this long!? For a small joint, they have an extensive menu of your typical American/Mexican comfort foods and snacks. I would justify their food as being just as delicious as any mom and pop stand with fresh ingredients, but what stood out for me was how friendly the staff was. I'm gonna have to make this a ritual stop every time I'm on my way!
