I'll spare the details but the communication was awful. Im a pretty patient and understanding person when it comes to mistakes but i began to get frustrated when what they were doing seems unethical. They increased the charge of my diagnosis twice and didnt mention the increase until after the fact. I just wanted my vehicle out of there and during the check out process i was almost overcharged $150 after disputing it. It was a mistake on their part but those mistakes occured throughout my entire experience. They also have an AI bot who takes calls and its very frustrating. They are also extremely over priced. As soon as i got my vehicle back i called other shops and they were a 1/3 of the price cheaper than what was quoted. Please spend your time and money elsewhere. read more

We brought our car in on a Saturday for a specific noise during light acceleration and an overdue oil change. After diagnostics, we were told the noise was from the CV axles (and that brakes were also needed). We agreed to replace only the axles, quoted at $1,600+, and were told the car would be ready Monday or early Tuesday. From there, communication completely broke down. We received no proactive updates. Multiple calls were routed through an AI system with no callbacks. When I finally reached a person, I was told the staff member handling our car had been out sick and that parts were delayed due to a storm. Totally understandable -- but no one called us, despite us coordinating work, school, therapy appointments, and Uber with one car. We were then told the car would be ready Wednesday, but again received no call. On Wednesday, we were told one axle never arrived and repairs would be done Thursday -- again, no prior notification. When I picked the car up Thursday and paid $1,500, the exact same noise was still present within a quarter mile of driving. I immediately returned. After initially being told it was due to not replacing the brakes (it was not a braking noise), they test-drove the car and then said the real issue was a gunked-up timing chain/belt, which they "fixed" with another oil change and flush. The noise stopped. That raises a serious concern: why were $1,500 axle replacements done when the original issue was misdiagnosed and resolved with an oil change? Had this been correctly identified, we would have made very different decisions. Between the misdiagnosis, repeated missed timelines, lack of communication, and unnecessary expense, this experience was extremely frustrating and left us without confidence in the work performed. read more

Avoid this business. I ordered tires through Simple Tire and these yahoos signed up to be an installer without knowing how it worked or following the processes. They decided they were going to hang onto my car even though I had already paid for the tires and installation through Simple Tire. When I informed them that was unacceptable, they were rude. I ended up missing work while they finally put it together that they needed to file paperwork to Simple Tire. Complete idiots. I tell everyone I know to avoid these a$$hats. read more

I asked for pricing on some work I wanted done. They said - "Bring it in! How would I know without seeing it?" Ok so I bring it in, I say what problems Im having with vehicle, and give them keys. Next day I get quotes and prices are absolutely extortionate so I decided just have them do Oil Change and Ill figure out honest shop to do the work. So I ask for my bill of work they have done and it is over 300 hundred!? All they did was oil change. They told me to bring it in so they can look at it and give you quotes on pricing but didn't tell me it would be 250 to have them look at it. They have very bad communication about what they are going to do and how much it will cost. They went ahead and did 250 bucks of testing without communicating that would even be a cost. And when they had quotes for work I wanted to do the prices for that was extortionate. I was scammed and will never be back and would suggest to everyone else to find honest place with reasonable prices. read more

A+_ Auto in North Charleston is terrible, DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR THERE! got an oil change done less then 2 months ago, had someone else fix my coils and spark plugs, while they did it they notcied I had NO OIL, I dont have a leak and theres no way in less than 2 months and barely driven my vehicle has no oil, this means they didnt put oil back in my car when they changed it, Called to speak with the manager and he was very rude and not helpful at all basically telling me it was somehow my fault and there was nothing they could do. I spent over $4000.00 there getting work done and they did a sh*t job will NOT be bringing any of my vehicles back there. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY!! read more

Wow. I hate to leave bad reviews. 1st time, I had oil changes on both my cars, and tire rotations. I had marked one of the tires, and when I picked it up, the tire was in the same position, and I was charged for the rotation. Next time, I had an oil change, tire rotation, and had a slow leak in one of the tires. I was told the tire couldn't be fixed, and they put the spare on. Next day I went to get a tire and realized they hadn't put my tire in my trunk. Went back and a nice young man found my tire, pulled a nail out of it, plugged it, put air in it, and sent me on my way. Last time - took my 2004 Subaru in for a regular oil change. $79 which I thought was a lot more than last time, but what the heck with inflation and all. I then pulled out my credit card, and they told me there was a 3.9% charge for credit card sales. End of story - $82! For a 2004, it was dang near totaled. read more

I had an appt for 9:30 to get an alignment on my classic car. Not many repair shops mess with these because they can be challenging I arrived at 9:20 and they were ready to start. Mechanics worked tirelessly to get the car tracking correctly and took their time to do it correctly. The entire team on Trolley Rd was great from the desk guys to the wrench turners. (11:26AM) 2.5 hours and counting for a simple oil change. Arrived around 3 hours ago with appointment and my car is still sitting in the same parking spot. Have been told "I'm next" multiple times. An oil change should take 20 minutes.. stay away from this mess. UPDATE 1 (12:02PM): About 5 minutes after posting this a supervisor who would not give me their name when I asked approached me in the lobby and asked me to step outside. The supervisor informed me he gets goggle review notifications directly to his phone .. that he "has a family to feed" & "reviews like that could deter someone from coming here" I calmly explained to him I have been sitting here for 3 hours without my car even moving from the parking spot I left it in and I am upset the secretary told me several hours ago my car is "next" while watching several customers come after me and leave before me. I was told they have simple tire services and an oil change takes longer. I then asked "What is the point of an appointment if after waiting 2+ hours I can just get passed up by walk-ins?" This seemed to anger the supervisor who raised his voice and told me to just "get in my car and leave" I asked for my keys and I was told to wait outside and was called a "punk" The manager was very noticeably shaking at this point and screaming loud enough the employees inside could hear him. This business made me feel threatened and the manager on duty has serious anger management problems. This is definitely not a family friendly establishment, and I wouldn't recommend this place to ANYONE. read more

I have been a customer of A+Auto for over ten years, they have always exceeded my expectations. When another driver hit my vehicle and totaled it in February 2020, Gabe assisted me in storing my vehicle until the insurance adjuster could come out. He handled everything and even went out searching for a replacement car for me. He answered all of my phone calls and questions that I had about potential replacement vehicles and helped me narrow down my next car. When he found the 2012 Hyundai Genesis, he called me to see if I wanted to take a test drive. Had some work done about 6 weeks ago on my 2011 Acura TSX and all went well. Radiator flush + brake fluid flush. Now here is the kicker which I just found when i saw my credit card statement and saw a different charge. My invoice said the total paid was $360.75, but guess what, the CC statement said i was charged $375.18. They tacked a 4% fee for paying bye credit card. I never knew anything about this, but i figure there is probably a sign on their wall about the policy. I had to ask for a invoice of all the work done and saw on the second page it has a statement about an incentive for paying cash or check and this is to be shared with our customers and was supposed to be made to me before any repairs are made. Did not happen, they said nothing to me. Tacking on credit card fee's used to be against the law and it still is in 10 states. This shop offers a 4 year warranty on parts and labor, that's quite an offer for a auto repair shop. Seems like a gimmick to me, but they seem to be busy so it's working i guess. The whole second page of the invoice explains how the 4 year warranty works. It's a little tricky reading it and there are quite a few things that are not covered. Take my repair, to get the coverage i have to bring the car back after 2 years and pay to have the job done again. This shop does not need my business, but they ought to knock off the 4% fee for using a credit card. It's the price of doing business when you accept payment by CC, and if it costs too much then figure some other way to recover it. Thank goodness most business do not resort to this tactic. read more

I typically do all my own maintenance but have been fighting my 2001 Dodge Ram 2500 cummins for a few weeks with an issue. My cheap code reader wasn't pulling any codes so I made an appt for a diagnostic. They took longer than I was expecting to just read codes off the computer of the truck so I started asking hey what's taking so long and getting agitated that it took a few hours. I was blown away when they came back with the full inspection they did. Khalle went through the whole truck and found some issues that required immediate attention that I had neglected to notice like a brake line with a hole in it (my reservoir was empty as well and they filled it). I was just expecting a simple reading with the shop scanner and they went above and beyond to find many issues that could be tended to without pushing me to have them do the service. Their prices are extremely reasonable. I will be returning for further services and recommend them for your needs. Just plan to be there for a few hours even if you have an appt.! read more

Took my car in last week for an oil change. I had an appointment for 8am. 2 1/2 hours later I pick up my car. At first I was pleased. The price they quoted was $25 less. They put synthetic blend instead of full synthetic. Then the next day, My son & I saw oil in my driveway. I took it back and let them know. Manager said no problem probably something simple. An hour 1/2 later I'm informed that my oil pan is punctured. I told him that although my car burned oil it NEVER LEAKED A DROP OF OIL IN MY DRIVEWAY. I asked him what happened and why it was leaking after I brought it to them. He said that I must have ran over or actually back over something. I said "I think if I ran over something, I would have remembered that ". The manager said there were scratches on my oil pan and it was bent. He apologized for having to tell me the bad news and said he could get me an oil pan for $110 and have it tomorrow. I thank him and said I'd speak to my son and I d also asked him about the condition of my oil pan the last time he changed my oil. I know my son if the oil pan was damaged when he changed my oil the last time he would have said something about it and he would have replaced it for me at that time. I'm called a friend and took my car to his shop to look at the damaged oil pan. With my certified mechanic we took pictures and video, there's no scratches or even a dent in my oil pan. A-1's tech must have used a power tool to either take out my oil plug or putting back in. There's no paint around the holes that are leaking and absolutely no reason for the missing paint. I'm a woman but I was in the retail car business for over 30 years and I do know more then the average woman about a car and repairs. All this has transpired since last Wednesday. This morning when they open I'm calling to see what the owner is willing to do. At this point I'd suggest read all the reviews about theses guys before you let them touch your car and wait a few days after picking up your car before leaving them a good review. Honestly at this point I'm not sure they even qualify for one star. read more
