When Rory, the manager, was at the Summerville location, I felt at ease taking my Volvo and BMW to get an oil change and serviced. However... About a month ago, I went there to get a oil change for my BMW and I learned Rory transferred to the Goose Creek location. I tried to call Precision Tune in Goose Creek but I got voice mail. So, I decided, on last time, to let the Summerville location do an oil change. The new manager isn't a friendly guy. When I got my BMW back, I noticed, when I was cleaning out my trunk a few days later, that both gallons of Motul were completely full and the oil filter I asked them to use were not used: still in trunk. I called and asked what happened and I didn't want their standard oil in my car. So, the manager arranged to get the oil changed again. And that went horribly wrong as well. They changed my oil, but only used one gallon, of the two, of the Motul engine oil: 5w-40. The other 1.9 quarts they used their standard synthetic oil. NOTE: You are not supposed to mix specialized oil with other oil as it cancels out the chemistry etc. I called and the manager said the tech was doing me a favor! It is not what I asked. I called Rory, at the Goose Creek location and arranged a time to get my BMW oil changed - again - 3rd time in less than 100 miles. Everything went well except... Mike, the mechanic, told me that there was no gasket on my oil plug, and the oil was slowly leaking. Summerville Precision Tune struck again. All-all, Precision Tune of Summerville cost me, out of my own pocket, in just engine oil, +$200, and another $30 in oil filters. Needless to say, I will never go back to Precision Tune in Summerville. read more

A/C Diagnostics should not be a service offered. I took my car there (2) additional times after my initial visit to get a "free a/c" check then paid for a recharge service. The next two visits were totally different issues nor addressed the first time. Now two weeks later my a/c is back to blowing hot air and doing what it was doing since the beginning. At this point , I need a district manager to call me or find out what skills techs are at the West Ashley location since it's not affiliated with this one. read more

Tried to charge me over $150 to test the battery in a 2014 Honda Accord and then charge me $350 for a battery. He was pulling numbers out of thin air. Started at $480, when I questioned that he said he could do it for $359, then he went down to $259. If you are a woman, do not go in there. They saw me coming a mile away. Went in for an oil change(the price has literally tripled 68+ dollars). I drive a Nissan Altima nothing fancy! The guy says you battery has corrosion on it. Yes a known thing with Altimas no big deal. However I was charged 19.99 for battery care I never asked for this service! I know how to clean my own battery and lubricate it! read more

spent roughly $1,500 on a repair start started Christmas Eve. Since they received the payment I've returned 3 times because the truck has shut off while traveling from James Island to Summerville Only to be told it's normal for the truck to do that. The lack of communication is beyond anything that resembles professionalism. The owner BSing me and dodging my phone calls, new dent in my truck (thanks for that) and the 12 month warranty that does absolutely nothing while pay another $191 for a diagnostic from a certified dodge dealership. Oddly enough, what I brought it in for the trucks electrical is back to what it was before the $1,500 was invested into getting it running. I made a review through google and got a response telling me to email them to have this issue resolved only to have the same results I paid for. My rear brakes were squeeling, and I assumed I needed new brakes and maybe rotors. It had been 63,000 miles since they were last replaced. I took my Toyota Sienna to Precision Tune Auto Care. I told Tim there what was going on and how many miles it had been since my brake pads were replaced. He said he would take a look and let me know. He said I still had half of the life left on the brake pads, and that my rotors looked fine. He said it was probably brake dust that was causing the noise, and even suggested the degreaser I should buy and how to use it. Wow! He could have told me it was time to replace the brake pads and rotors and I would have believed him. Instead he was honest. That's the way to do business and I really appreciated it. read more

Had my car towed to Precision Auto Tune on Trolley Road. I called prior to try to inform them that I was having my car towed there and no one answered the phone. I called three times. Upon arrival I'm advised of a diagnostic test and the charges associated. The purpose of the test is find out the issues the car is having. I was advised after the "diagnostic" test the reason my car was overheating and leaking was due to a radiator hose that needed to be replaced and they even proceeded to show me where it was leaking. So two hours of being there they ordered the parts and and hour later the job was completed. I got where Summerville Hospital is located from Precision and my car hot started smoking and leaking antifreeze... the same thing it was doing initially $400 later. I requested a refund and asked him what was the point of the test of my car is doing the EXACT thing it was doing. The guy at the counter started to answer the question never did and told me it could be the thermostat. I waited all of time just to leave with the same problem and unable to go to work until my car is repaired. My time was wasted. I will not be returning and I would not recommend this place to anyone unless you just have money to blow. I am very disappointed. read more

I had problem with my car jumping on me and brought it in. They told me it was my battery okay that's fine. So have my battery changed. Few days later same problem my car continues to jump. I brought it back and told them it was still jumping. They look at it again and once again tell me it's the battery..... okay so how is it that I need two new batteries in the matter of two weeks?? Keep in mind this is right before thanksgiving and I'm going to visit my family out of town (5 1/2 hours away). Needless to say problem still wasn't fixed as I go out of town. I take my car to an auto repair store in Georgia and all it was was a kinked fuel line.. so this leaves me thinking they didn't even do any further investigating on my car after realizing the battery was not the answer. Brian the general manager took a look at my vehicle and told me exactly what was wrong with it and walk through the steps of when I could have done immediately and what needed to be done long term. Brian was excellent and a professional. They fixed my Thermostat and my bad gas cap in my car but when I left the check engine light came back on. I called back and Brian said to bring it back and he would check it out free of charge. Turns out I needed another part which is fairly expensive. He wasn't there to drain my back account ( unlike the precision tune in Mt. P ...never again ) and was genuinely trying to help me. Had my Buick Park Avenue Towed in on August 7, 2018 for a diagnostic after installing a new computer. It was determined the New Computer could only be "Flashed" by a Buick Dealer as GM holds the software to make it happen. The Precision Manager DID NOT charge me a penny for diagnostic stating if they could not fix it they would not charge me. A true gentleman. A big shout out rave for Precision Auto on Trolley in Summerville. I had a similar great experience at Precision in Mount Pleasant, SC in 2011 on my Jaguar. read more

My teenage son has a 1992 Jeep, and he had to replace a serpentine belt. He didn't have the tool to tighten, so he took it to Precision to get it tightened. It was making a squealing noise. He told them specifically what needed to be done. We were told, however, that the squeal was due to a bad bearing on the alternator. I went ahead and told them to replace the alternator for $288. They said the squealing noise was fixed. On the 3 minute drive home, the car started squealing again. We returned in the morning and told them that it was not fixed. They then told us that it needed a new water pump. $300 later, we had a new water pump and alternator. They assured us that it was working. We didn't leave the parking lot because it was still squealing. My husband went in on the 3rd day, and they replaced the belt and tightened it. Guess what? The squeal is gone. I don't even know if we needed the alternator and water pump. They tried to charge us another $158 for the belt tightening today, but my son said NO. I feel like if you're a woman or a teenager, they're going to take advantage of you. Stay away. read more
