I have switched from the horizontal blinds and it made huge differences: 1) Cooled down the inside temperature at least 15 degrees 2) Better sleep at night as the roller shade blackout lights efficiently And it looks a lot prettier and cleaner from outside also. A Blinds installed 2 humongous roller shades with the dual light and blockout pattern back in 2018. They did a great job installing them despite the window location abutting the wall so it was a tight install. Fast forward to 2020 during the pandemic, the battery ran too low and one of the blinds reset itself and unpaired from the remote control. A Blinds sent someone out to reprogram without charge. This year in 2022, the same blind stopped working and A Blinds came immediately to inspect it. The motor had died so A Blinds came back with the part a few days later to swap it out. Not only did they inform us there was no charge since it was still under warranty, but the tech actually arrived early and was super nice and friendly. We highly recommend A Blinds. We got 7 of these automated zebra blinds installed about 6 months ago and they've been amazing so far. No issues, works great, and easy to use - the automation and programmability is super convenient! The motors are also very quiet but you'll still hear the friction from the double layer blinds so not completely silent. The blinds themselves block out direct sunlight very well and allows for incremental light adjustments just fine. Our specific setup is a bit pricey but you get what you pay for as they say. All I can say is this has to be the best purchase I have ever made, before I moved into my condo. These blinds give a very appealing look even on the outside. I love how much light this, let's in during the day when I have the shades "open". When I "close" the shades to only have the brown panels. It's great that I can just pull the cord to set the shades to any height of my windows. It's been 10 years since 2012, overall still holding very well. But one of the blind in our bedroom stop working properly, when I am pulling up it slipped, turn out the pulley is broken. I was pretty much set against vertical blinds before I met with her, but I'm so happy that Joanne made a case for their beautiful vertical blinds, we can't be happier with the result. We did encounter some hiccups in one of the blinds during installations. The blinds for the patio door should open from the right for the door opens from the right but it was installed to open from the left. A-Blinds responded quickly but finding a date & time that would work was more challenging than I anticipated. Also, since we have furniture in front of our windows, we really hope that we could put our furniture back and not leave stuff in the middle of the room for another week. A few days later, I got a call that they would send someone to come that afternoon, in the time slot that I proposed but was not available, a few days before the scheduled day. A gentleman came, fixed it, and even cleaned the fingerprints off the topper (they were only visible up close). He was meticulous in his work and I was impressed by his attention to details.
