My AC died - Frozen coil, blower wouldn't run, the whole thing. Another company told me the control board was bad and wanted over $2,200 to replace it. Felt off... so I started messaging other shops on Yelp. A/C Medic quoted me $829 with a 1 year warranty right there in the chat, no "we need to come look first" runaround, and they had a tech at my house the same day. The tech, Adolfo, was great! He checked everything himself before swapping anything, confirmed it really was the board, and explained what failed and why in a way that actually made sense. Clean work too. He also did a seasonal maintenance while he was there, cleaned the condenser coil, and gave me a heads up on a couple of aging parts outside without trying to sell me anything on the spot. My system is 24 years old, he easily could have pushed a full replacement like the other company did. He didn't. Paid $888 total including the maintenance, less than half of what the other place wanted for just the repair, and I had cold air that same evening. Transitioning from the hot summer to winter I needed to start running the heat. For whatever reason, changing temps always messed up our AC. Still not sure why. After installing 3 different (cheap) Honeywell Thermostats that didnt work, we called for back up. After a diagnotic test came out that everything was fine and it was just the the basic Honeywell thermostats are faulty and not compatible with our AC unit. They installed a Honeywell T3 and it started working immediately. So, I learned, that sometimes, it is worth the investment to buy a better quality thermostat. read more

I hired them to replace my unit on a Wednesday, they weren't able to install until Monday, but to my surprise they offered me a temporary AC unit to cool my area during the down time. Finally got around to getting estimates and meeting installers to replace my 25 year old original HVAC system. A/C Medic was prompt and competitive with their bid and clearly technically knowledgeable about modern alternative systems. The deciding factor was the enthusiasm and keenness to get job done to my satisfaction. As promised they turned up at 9 the very next day (As I requested) and unrolled drop cloths to protect my home - good start. In about 5 hours of precision teamwork the system was running. Another hour or so to teach me the use of the new thermostat and the job was complete. A/C Medic left my home in spotless condition. I hear horror stories from relatives in Europe about the difficulties in getting timely work done at any price. We Americans are lucky to have young guys like this who are eager to work for their success and deliver such an excellent product. BTW they were also the low bidders.
