I've been here probably every 3-4 months for the past two years for an older Porsche that was given to me (with issues) and I do not trust anyone other than this shop with my car. Even the first time I took it there, they were extremely knowledgeable about my particular model and addressed the issues that it had immediately. Every time I've gone there they handled things so quick, so efficiently, and with such care and great customer service. They even tried their best to haggle the Porsche dealership a little because of how expensive their parts are. There was even a time I was having issues with the oil, and they addressed the problem, topped me off with oil, and sent me on my way with no payment. What keeps me coming back again and again is not only their phenomenal work every time with my car, but the way they treat their customers. They never assumed, I as a woman, didn't know anything about cars, and were happy to educate when I asked questions. They know me by name and I feel like they treat me as another friend/ colleague. We were having an anxiety attack trying to figure out where to take our Audi allroad for service in the Stockton area until a Porsche owner recommended Buckenham's. I called to see if they were interested in working on an Audi and I was told, "No problem we have a few regular A-6 and S-4 customers, bring it in and we will take a look at it." Shop was very clean, and very busy. The service manager that wrote up the tag was very thorough, writing down every detail and asking questions for more information as needed. Additionally, while the mechanic was working on the car I was called several times with questions and updates. Bought a Porsche using Mike Jr as my auction rep. I paid top dollar for a car that had registered accidents (undisclosed to me) and the electrical system was failing. I felt ripped offed and misrepresented. I paid thousands to fix the aforementioned and obvious issues one would think an expert could spot at auction. When I went to sell the Porsche I found out the right panel had been repainted. I lost 20,000 in resale of a vehicle I trusted was worth more. Lesson learned about a tradition reputation vs actual business sense. read more

Great shop, and lots of attention to detail. I can't find a better shop for BMWs in the area. As my car gets along in miles, things are starting to wear down. Buckenham has been there to help me and I've been lucky to get the car worked on through walk-ins pretty quickly. Alan is a life saver. I've owned three different Porsches, a Mercedes and a BMW over the last several years and these guys have seen them all. I'm a DIY guy for the most part because there's no Porsche dealer near Stockton and I don't mind working on them. But when a problem is out of my league, I bring it here. I don't know how the service was back when Mike was running it, but I haven't had any problems recently. This is not one of those here today, gone tomorrow little tuner shops in a warehouse with dirt cheap labor rates and cheap aftermarket parts. You're gonna pay just a little less than dealer prices for the work, but it is guaranteed and they can be trusted. I'm not sure there's another shop in Stockton or even SJ county with their expertise on new and old Euro cars. Anyway, just thought I'd throw my two cents in because a coupe of the reviews seems a little harsh, based on my experience. This is not the type of place where they greet you with a latte and pamper you while you're car is being worked on. If anything, I would say their bedside manner could use a little polish. But hey, it's a mechanic shop, not a salon. They will pick you up and drop you off locally when you're stuck without wheels though. That's pretty cool. read more

My husband and his family had used Buckenham's for years, but Mike is no longer running the shop and it shows. I took my X5 in for a 60k service and it was a disaster! First, the coolant light was on when I took the car in. I asked them to check the brakes, they were pulsing. Was told that the brakes were ok, but I needed ball joints and some other random work. The day after I picked up my car, the coolant light came on again. I had a different mechanic check it. The coolant tank was cracked. The cover over the engine had not been refastened properly. 2 weeks later the car made a horrible noise when turning the wheel. The power steering fluid was low. Brakes got worse, took it to brake shop. Sensor was out, but Buckingham's did not notice this, and brakes were in horrible shape. Also, ball joints were deemed just fine. Beware when having car serviced/repaired by this shop. read more

DO NOT GO HERE. YOUVE BEEN WARNED. They market themselves as top notch but are far from that. These guys could not find out what was wrong with my vehicle supposedly. So I told them what the issue was, and I know very little about vehicles. So they did what I asked and it fixed the issue. Simple fix. They then broke a key off in my ignition and expected me to replace my entire ignition, keys, and locks. I had to go up there and get the mechanic to admit he broke it off in my ignition before they realized they were wrong. When i get my car back after they replaced my keys and left the same ignition, the steering wheel was making an awful grinding sound. They told me it wasn't an issue. Didn't even try to figure out the issue. So now a few months later my sensor goes out again. I go to remove it and multiple nuts were stripped. I called and asked for help being that they obviously stripped the nuts only to fall on deaf ears. This place is a complete joke. They will take advantage of you, over charge, break things and expect you to repair them yourself. Again you've been warned, THEY ARE SCAMMERS. I HAVE THE ENTIRE VIDEO OF THE CONVERSATION I HAD WITH THE OWNER. He told me, "if one of our mechanics breaks something that's on you". In stockton from out of town. Had a issue with a battery in our Jetta, still under warranty. Not only were they the only place in town to have the battery to perform warranty service but they did not charge to swap the batteries. Staff was super helpful and really got us out of a tough spot with minimal inconvenience. My wife spoke to Clint on the phone and was very helpful as well. read more

Drove my car to the shop to get some codes cleared and smog done. Get a call that there is something wrong with the tranny and the car wont go into gear. I told the counter guy it was shifting fine when I brought it to you guys. His response was "Well things break" and told me at first $350. When I came to pick up the car the price jumped to over $500! The kid who test drove the car asks me "Does the shifter feel better?" I told him it felt like it did when I brought it in which was fine. He just shrugged and walked away. NEVER taking my car to them again!! I used to love them 10 years ago, kept my old Porsche running on a budget with great service. Just bought a BMW hoping I could get the same great service at reasonable rates. Then they quoted me $180 for an oil change. That's twice the price of the dealership folks. Guess it's not the same great shop it used to be :( read more

Yeah I drive from Sf to visit the folks and have my service done here. Make an appointment- not open on weekends. Does not do warrantee work. All work is top notice, Parts take some time to get. I just bought a used 2001 BMW 325i and brought it into the shop to see why the "check engine" light was on and to find out why the car stalled a couple of times while driving slowly. They correctly diagnosed the problem and repaired it. They also went beyond that and took care of a few other things for me at minimal to no additional cost. Clint was very helpful and personable to work with and I really appreciated his professionalism and knowledge of my vehicle. To give you some perspective on their expertise, I had taken my car to the AAA auto center in Sacramento to do a diagnostic on the car and they could not determine what was wrong with the car. If you have a Porsche or European car, I would definitely recommend this shop. I plan to use their services exclusively for my BMW. Thanks for the top notch work and service! read more

Excellent service! I have a 1995 MBZ which still runs great (I have never missed a service) but the car does have the normal aches and pains that accompany old age! Several years ago, the windshield wiper and antenna motors both needed replacement. At that time, I was oblivious to the fact that there were repair options other than a dealership but the estimated cost for these items seemed terribly excessive. So, after careful investigation and research, I found Buckenham's. The cost was half the dealership estimate and the job was done promptly and courteously. Needless to say, I have used Buckenham's since and will continue to do so as long as that level of service is provided! read more

Went on Vacation on the 13th. Turned my car over to the shop on the 14th to repair low beam light. Called later in the day on the status on my car and was told that the car had a hose that was leaking freon and it had been previously patched. Gave permission to repair and when I called later in the day they were expecting a driver to deliver the hose from Sacramento. I called at 4pm and was told they did not know where the driver was and could not get a hold of him but would have the car ready in the morning. Called on 15th and was told the car was ready. Me and my husband went down around 9am (he had to pick up his car he had just bought at 10am) to pick up the car. After paying for the repair my husband and I went to the Kia dealer on Hammer Lane to pick up his car. I Parked in the front with not other cars around me and waited. After my husband was done I walked to my car and found that there were several gashes on the passenger side of my front bumper. I contacted the shop and reported this to Nic the manager. Nic was going to have the manager call me and this was between 11 and 12pm. I called several times that afternoon asking for the manager and around 4pm I called and ask for Nic and was told he was gone and ask to speak with the owner and the call was disconnected. I called back and ask for the owner and the person stated he was (I believe Mike) and asked if I could come down, being it was 4pm and they close at 5pm I asked him what time would in the morning would he be there and he stated 8:30am. I immediately arranged and agreed to meet the owner on 16th. My husband and I arrived at the shop 8am. One of the mechanics walked up to my husband and asked my husband,"Was that done here?", and my husband said it was not like that when it was brought in, to which the mechanic waved his hands in air, and walked off and stated, "That is a bunch of bull shit!" Nic tried again to contact the owner. My husband and I waited until 9:30am and still no sign of the owner and Nic could not get a hold of him. I contacted Nic throughout the day. Later in the afternoon I contacted Nic and he stated he had seen and spoken to the owner for about 5 min, and provided him, the owner, the information and give the owner my phone number to contact me. I called several times again and Nic provided me the owners number because he did not know what was going on. I called the number and left a message and as of the 18th i have not received a call back. The owner has not even given me the respect to see what was done to my car or even look to say, no that could have not been done here. read more
